The original Gwyn's High Alpine was far and away the best mountain restaurant on any of Aspen's mountains. Unfortunately, the corporation that owns the ski resorts decided to shut down a beloved family-run business and install a bland, cookie-cutter cafeteria that offers nothing worth your time. You could taste the love at the old High Alpine. Now you can taste the corporate indifference. What a shame.

First this restaurant isn't Gwyn's anymore. Gwyn's High Alpine deserved 5 stars. The new "High Alpine" is just an overpriced cafeteria with bad pizza, greasy burgers, pre-made sandwiches and salads. The chocolate chip cookies that are packaged are not fresh, they are frozen and defrosted, tasty but artery clogging. I tasted the grill oil on the plant based burger more than the burger and the pastrami Reuben, like 50% fat. I haven't met anyone who doesn't lament this change. I miss Gwen's. So sad to see this place go downhill.

Was a good stop around the Alpine slope area. Not a fan of the multiple levels when you have ski boots on but it worked. Food options were good but limited because of COVID.

Large vanilla shake. Then walk to the bar. Add a shot of vanilla vodka and a shot of Kalua. Best $23 shake in Snowmass.

Don't forget the shakes at this all organic burger and shake joint. No worries, you'll burn off the calories.

Huckleberry shake and fires are awesome, old fashioned burger joint on the mountain.

Don't challenge Dave to a bacon eating contest.

If you don't want a burger, try the Cobb Salad. It's full of bacon, and we all know how awesome bacon is.

The Ullrhof is much more exciting now that it's been rebranded as a burger and shake joint. Grab some fries after, not before, heading up the Big Burn to venturing into Garret's Gulch!
Tell Craig I love him.

Try the burgers, they're made of 100% locally-raised, grass-fed ground beef!
