I've read the reviews before heading to the Cabin for dinner. I had been aware of the service issues but took my chances and besides I had a Steamboat gift card I need to spend, so we went. The place was 3/4 empty and it felt like we came way ahead of our time but it was 7pm. That didn't bother us. The place looked like been built 20 plus years ago and resonates a mix feel of a fine restaurant to a diner, couldn't make up my mind. Now to the service- the waitress came by as soon as we were seated, but all she said with a heavy foreign, yet comprehensible accent, that she would be right back with us. She did come back in literally a minute and asked what we wanted but we didn't have time to decide. When I asked for a Campari as a drink she didn't even know what it was and after checking with someone came back with various options snap shot on her phone, none of which were my drink. I just went to the bar and they sure did have it. We had a few other awkward moments with our waitress where she would be asking us every time she would pass by our table “is everything ok?”- that sounded like we were in trouble or were worrying about something. But I knew it was just the language issue. The food was good but the risotto in the Arctic Char and pasta in the Beef Raghu seemed undercooked.

zero atmosphere- felt like a low end hotel restaurant. horrible beer wine selection. We had an untrained server on her first day. SWEET as can be but obviously just thrown on the job. they told us out of fries but we watched table after table be served fries. they substituted mashed potato instead and it was like mash potato soup. disgusting. then we challenged the fry situation and they brought out for plates of fries AFTER we finished our meal. burger edible. i would absolutely never go back here and urge others to steer clear:

You pay hundreds of dollars a night in this hotel to go have the most mediocre meal of your life and sit forever wondering when the waitress will come

We were staying at the Grand but made reservations just in case- 4 adults and two young children. The hostess was a bit slow in acknowledging us, but once we were seated our server was much more attentive. Salads were good, but food was overly salty. Mushroom risotto was almost inedible and French fries were fine once dipped in ketchup. We split a brownie four ways, and I give our server credit for anticipating our needs and bringing 4 spoons without our asking. All in all, ok since we didn't have to leave the hotel, but overly priced for quality of food.

First the good, the food was excellent, our party of 10 had all the appetizers and then both steaks and seafood and all of us were pleased with quality. Additionally the wine list while short had all the usual suspects like Duckhorn and Prisoner so we knew we would not be disappointed. Service however was lacking and our server struggled. She was not very attentive, didn't know the first thing about opening wine and forgot the birthday dessert that we were celebrating. She did try and was very friendly but clearly she needed better training.

I'd go for happy hour. Service can be slow sometimes. Convention location inside the Steamboat Grand.

Our server was tremendous but didn't follow through. We were finished w our meal and were sitting just talking after dinner and left our dirty plates just sitting... like we sat for 30-45 minutes after we were done just catching up and our dishes were never cleared. We all thought this was improper. The food was great and well prepared It was also chilly at our seats. We asked for the fireplace to be turned on but it didn't help.

Here during MusicFest (which was our first mistake) but regardless, even with a pared down menu and plastic cups for drinks (really?), the service was awful and my $20.00 Caesar salad with chicken was a bag of lettuce with a few pieces of Parmesan cheese and about 3 oz. Tough tasteless chicken. Plus the waiter must have forgotten to put in the order for one of our meals as when our food came out, only 3 of us received food. Bad experience - I'm sure staffing was an issue, but we'll never go back during MusicFest again despite the convenience.

Went last night for New Years Eve early dinner at 6:30 - despite having a reservation sat us in a high top table in bar - didn’t get anything to drink until after our food was delivered - ordered the $85 set meal- which we thought was overpriced for what was listed - but thought it would be a good experience - both meals disappointing - way too much salt - my risotto was a pile of salty mush - salmon was good on exterior bites but totally raw and cold on inside - I asked for mashed potatoes since I couldn’t eat the mushy risotto - finally 15 minutes when done eating they brought them. Husband had prime rib which was overcooked (and kept him upAll night) We asked for bread and they said they were out (already at 6:30?) The dessert was delicious. I probably ate $30 worth of food - very disappointing when expecting a wonderful experience. As Steamboat grand owners especially not happy.

My son's medium rare steak was served well done. The server took it back to the kitchen staff to re-do and was told it was fine so it was sent back to us. The server got the manager and she sent it back to the kitchen to fix. It was then served rare - too bloody to eat. We were afraid to send it back again so we asked for a to go box and cooked it in the room.

We've eaten breakfast here a few times and dinner twice. Mainly because of the convenience of being in the hotel. The kitchen is inexorably slow. The servers are friendly and try, though they are sometimes hard to find. But even with a reservation, and only 5 other parties in the entire restaurant at 6pm it took an hour for our food to come out. There must not be enough cooks. The food is just ok and the portions are generally large.

The cabin has a VERY SLOW kitchen. Be it breakfast or dinner. Over an hour to get dinner for 5 on the table at 6pm. Don't go if you arent' patient. Servers are friendly and do their best. Portions large, food average to good

Booked The Cabin for New Years Eve, as restaurant reservation availability was very limited. We were suspect based upon the very mixed reviews. Between our party, we ordered wings, a cheeseburger, and a chicken Caesar salad from the limited New Years Eve menu. To our delight awith low expectations, the salad and wings were damn good, and the cheeseburger was chargrilled and really excellent actually. This was a sort of throw away and grab a bite meal for our first night in Steamboat with all the great restaurants here, so we were pleasantly surprised. We kept it simple with more of the bar/pub type food, so cannot speak to the higher end part of the menu.

This was terrible. Just terrible. Meats were all overcooked. Pork chop was dry, turkey was dry, steak was overcooked. The short rib ragu looked like it had been sitting for an hour and tasted worse. My wife said it was the worst thing she ever had. The noodles were stiff and dried out. We waited 87 minutes for food after we arrived. I ordered a glass of wine and after waiting 30 minutes for it I had to go to the bar to get it. I had hoped that the food would at least be ok after waiting so long. Nope. Would be 0 stars if I could. There should have been a manager on the floor talking to the tables apologizing for the wait. Nothing. Then an automatic gratuity so we couldn't even adjust it for being ignored for the entire evening by our server. Avoid at all costs.
