“Food was great overall, and the ambiance was wonderful. The service was prompt and food arrived very quickly. The only thing that slightly disappointed me was the side salad as I was hoping for a more traditional Austrian or a German salad with pickled veggies and vinegarette. All the other food was delicious. We will definitely go back.”

“We were visiting Vail for our anniversary and we decided to try Makoto for dinner. The food was excellent, especially the Wagyu Hot Stone and the Softshell Crab sushi. Our waitress Hiroko was very knowledgeable and attentive! I highly recommend this restaurant if you are visiting Vail.”
“My husband met the owner on the gondola one day and told us all about First Chair. We made it out for dinner and drinks with the kids a few days later. Chris served us and it was great meeting him as a fellow East coaster! We ordered almost all of the burritos on the menu and were not disappointed! The smash burger was easily my favorite. My dad would order the meatball burrito for every meal, I swear, with how much he enjoyed it as well as my 1 year old eating half of one herself. My son did work on the nachos they were so tasty! When we get back to Vail, we'll be sure to stop in! great staff and food!”
“On the receipt it said our server was Raul. He was awesome and made an iced espresso that my girlfriend thought was much better than Starbucks. The coffee creation was on the house… even the second one. The breakfast was very good and priced fairly. Because of it all, left a little over 50% tip and happy. Well done.”
“the best sushi you'll have! takeshi gets the freshest and most unique fish and preparation is A+.”

“We loved our meal at Swiss Chalet. The fondue was excellent and the vegetable accompaniments were delicious and well seasoned, especially the broccoli. This felt like a much more refined version of other fondues in town. Service was excellent and the atmosphere very charming. The pretzel bread with peppery butter was also delicious. The chocolate fondue was a fun way to end the evening. They were also surprisingly kid friendly and had a great kids menu.”
“An extraordinary dining experience to remember!!We were celebrating my husband‘s 80th birthday and he chose to dine at The Left Bank, because it is classy, elegant and spectacular…and so it proved to be! Each course was made to perfection we sampled many of the desserts and they were all over the top wonderful. We feel like The Left Bank provides a very unique dining experience in Vail. Truly magnificent for any occasion…We can’t thank our server, Brendon, enough for his expertise and professionalism. Truly a night to remember! Thank you everyone at The left Bank for making Allen‘s 80th birthday so special.”
“Lovely dinner at Tavernetta with our toddler in tow! The stone-and-wood dining room has such a warm, rustic-Italian feel — cozy booths, dim lighting, and touches like the little brass table lamps make it feel special without being stuffy. Even our 3-year-old was won over, happily digging into a bowl of parmesan on the table before our pasta even arrived. Service was warm and accommodating for a family with a young kid, and the entrance off the stone staircase (right by the Tavernetta sign) sets a great tone before you even walk in. Great spot for a family night out in Vail Village — will be back.”
“If you are staying in Vail or just wrapping up a long day out in the mountains, Bully Ranch inside the Sonnenalp Hotel is an incredibly popular spot for casual comfort food, but you definitely need to know how their ordering process works if you want to grab food to go.
We wanted to get a large order of their famous burgers and sides to bring back to our place, but when we tried to call ahead, we found out they do not take takeout orders over the phone at all. You have to physically walk into the restaurant, stand at the host stand or bar, and place your order in person. If you are trying to feed a hungry group after an active day, this is a bit of a hurdle because you end up waiting around the lobby or the bar area for twenty to thirty minutes while the kitchen prepares everything. It would be much more convenient if they allowed phone or online orders for quick pickups, so definitely factor that extra waiting time into your evening plans if you are planning a takeout night.
That being said the food itself definitely delivers on quality. Their signature burgers are fantastic, especially the ones with the smoked cheddar and bourbon glaze, and they travel surprisingly well if you eat them right away. The meat is high quality, juicy, and cooked exactly to order. We also got a side of their truffle tots, which are perfectly crispy and heavily seasoned, making them an absolute hit with everyone. If you have time to wait around for your food to cook, it is absolutely worth the trouble for a casual, hearty mountain meal, but just be prepared to make a physical trip out there just to get the order into their kitchen system.”
“We visited pre-ski season and the atmosphere was perfect. No large crowds and the service was wonderful.”
“Yama Sushi is a great choice. They were all very friendly and I was alone so I really appreciated that. Nicole K was just the best. Alex’s playlist…now a favorite. The Spicy Tuna rolls and the Papa Dulce were very fresh and delicious. The Balletto Chardonnay…perfect!! Thanks for making this a highlight of my mini vacay.”

“When we arrived, we sat on the patio, but when the wind picked up, we moved into the dining room. The service was fantastic with good recommendations for food and drink, and we enjoyed the mountain scenery even from inside the restaurant. Plenty of parking, great bathrooms, and a good stop on our way home. I would definitely come here again!”
“This place is so much fun! We had a girls trip this last week and went twice. The atmosphere was perfect, it was like a dive bar with great comfy seating. They had touch tunes so we got to play our own music (so fun) however, our only complaint is that there’s VERY limited country music options. Apparently the owner doesn’t want it to be a country bar but we’re just some Oklahoma girls wanting to play some of our fave tunes! If we could’ve played whatever we wanted I would give this place a 10/10. But for now, it is an 8.5/10. Regardless of the music limitations this place is great. We had the sweetest bartender both nights, Kaya. She made us feel so welcome and it was nice to see a familiar face when we came back. If you’re in town looking for a fun night out, this is the place to go. Maybe if we beg enough they’ll add some more country music to the touch tunes options????”
“Loved this spot over a couple days while we’re in town. Fabulous service and great drinks at a decent price.
Found it shortly after checking into Lift House with our pups after a ~2.5 hour drive from Denver and just wanted a quick drink in a casual spot. We were delighted to see this pub basically right down stairs, especially since we didn’t want to stray far while our dogs got settled. Immediately loved the atmosphere! Definitely try their Sangria… it’s not too sweet or too bitter or too fruity. Old Fashioned was just OK.”
“the coffee shop is paired with a restaurant and the restaurant was basically empty, i’m assuming they were not open. the coffee shop portion was also empty but the baristas were nice and happy to take our order. i ordered the cafe miel which is honey, cinnamon and oat milk with espresso but i asked for mine with whole milk and they happily made that accommodation for me. the coffee was delicious and so flavorful. the coffee was made pretty quickly. i highly recommend this place if you are in vail!”
“This Starbucks sits inside the hospital lobby.
Don't worry; the map app is guiding you to the right place!
The hospital concierge staff is very friendly and will gladly point you in the right direction.
Audrey and the rest of the Starbucks staff are always warm and happy to recommend a good drink!”
“Stopped in while visiting Vail and had a great experience. We ordered the cashew chicken and sesame chicken, and both were delicious. The chicken was tender, the vegetables were fresh, and the sauces were flavorful without being overly heavy. Portions were generous, and everything came out hot and quickly. Friendly service and a great spot for Chinese food after a day in the mountains. We’d definitely come back.”

“We stayed at the sonnenalp for a week and had the best experience visiting the King’s Club everyday. The drinks were amazing and everyday we received incredible service, especially from Virag who was extremely attentive and made us feel very welcome. We love it here and cant wait to come back!”
“Wow, one of the best restaurants on Vail mountain! For starters, this restaurant blew my mind away, especially it being 2 miles high! The pulled pork was so tender, the ribs were some of the best that I have ever had, the sauce is the bomb, and the prices were reasonable for Vail! Pro tip, use your epic pass if you have it, it will save you a drastic amount of money!
Vegetarian options: This is a bbq, so there is not many veggie dishes
Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating for dietary restrictions!
Parking: In terms of ski parking, there are many racks outside to “park” your skis. However, you can’t drive up to here!
Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly!
Wheelchair accessibility: If you are on a wheelchair and are skiing, congratulations! It is for skiers!”
“We had lunch at Wildwood Smokehouse. It's located at the top of the Wildwood lift at Vail. We each had a sandwich, shredded chicken, brisket, and pulled pork, and weall had onion rings for our side. They were all good. The shredded chicken had great smoky flavor. On the table, there are 3 BBQ sauces, OG, spicy and honey mustard.”
“I don’t think there is an institution better than 10th mountain division. Having come here for 10+ years, the drinks are great - the service is great (if you aren’t rude) - and extra kudos to Mark and Andy. Thanks for making every experience at Vail something special.”
“Check in was at 4pm, not a minute earlier. But once you arrive at your room, it is extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated. We had a nice gas stove and all the amenities needed for laundry and cooking. Our family was super comfortable in a two bedroom apartment and had enough room for all their toys. The location is also the best in vail! you are seconds away from the village and all ice rink. We opted to stay on the non village side because we were worried about noise, however the other side (facing the highway) can be quiet noisy if you are a light sleeper. The pool/gym area was also a nice touch, with updated workout machines and bikes. We did have a little mishap with the concierge and our babysitter not showing up so we missed an excursion. The concierge desk was having trouble solving it, but the manager came in and handled it all swiftly to help make this feel like a five star vacation. We will be returning. xThank you!”
“We had the most amazing meal at Revel! The salmon with creamy leeks and Chardonnay braised turnips was spectacular—the subtle flavors were perfectly balanced with the leeks providing just the right amount of tang so it didn’t feel too rich. The braised beef was like butter; the savory vegetables it was braised in overnight gave a depth of flavor I’ve never tasted in beef before. The chocolate mousse for dessert…heavenly! The richness of the Belgian chocolate and vanilla bean cream had me moaning out loud.
The salmon is flown in from Norway and the beef is raised locally. I think this goes to show that if you start with fresh, pure ingredients and put them in the hands of a talented chef you can make the simplest of foods taste exceptional.
I just ate at a James Beard award winning restaurant last month and I can honestly say it was no comparison to our meal at Revel! I can’t wait to go back!”
“Highly recommend Chasing Rabbits when in Vail. Very hip place with creative cuisine and a great wine program. I had Rabbit Bolognese and it was outstanding. Our server was excellent. Can't wait to go back!”

“Steven Teaver the owner was awesome! He opened up a little early to allow us Oregonians to check out Bad Kitty Lounge! Made us feel like long time friends! The suspended mirrored ski boot was a spectacular touch. Were there 08/23/21. Going through some of our Colorado vacation pics and had to comment on this place.”
“Nicest, most personable Starbucks staff I’ve ever met. Jada and Chloe were very patient with a complex order and held a lovely conversation when the POS was glitching, turning a situation which would’ve been otherwise unpleasant into a education time about the best sandwich on the menu (the impossible!). Coffee was on point and super yummy!”
“Went here twice during our stay. Not sure why the rating is so low. We had pastries, coffee, and tea each time. Good cup of coffee, chai latte and hot tea. Kids loved the donuts and cronuts. Croissants and pastries were yummy. Small shop but seating along the window to sit and enjoy. Would have continued to go if our trip was longer!”
“Andrea was very kind and helpful today at Starbucks in City Market Vail. This is a great place to rest and enjoy a delicious coffee beverage and a snack after skiing or groceryshopping. It's very conveniently located in City Market, Vail on the North Frontage Rd.”
“Pretty good bar, especially if you’re staying at the hotel. It was loud inside when we first got there, and there’s a pinball machine and pool tables. I got the chicken cesar wrap and it was really good! Prices are reasonable for Vail. We also tried the tomato basil flatbread. That was good as well all though the sauce was spicy. A good variety of food and drink options, I’d go back again!
Vegetarian options: Different vegetarian options and they even had a grilled veggie burger”

“Beer is on point and perfect place to chill after a day out on the slopes or hiking.”
“Nice sports bar! Got the chance to catch a FIFA game here. It was super crowded so the servers were a little delayed in serving.. obviously because it was busy.
Would definitely visit again”

“If you are looking for a hearty Italian meal to take back to your place after a full day in Vail, Vendettas Restaurant on Bridge Street is a very popular option to consider. We decided to get our dinner to go, and the ordering process was quick and efficient. However, waiting for the food inside the restaurant was a bit uncomfortable because it was incredibly hot inside the building. On a warm afternoon or evening, the indoor dining room can trap a lot of heat, which makes standing around waiting for a takeout order feel pretty stifling. If you are ordering during peak dinner hours when the kitchen is running at full blast and the space is crowded, you might want to step outside into the village air for a few minutes while they finish packaging up your meal.
Despite the stuffy wait inside, the food itself was packed exceptionally well and stayed completely fresh for the trip home. They line their takeout containers with heavy aluminum foil, which does an amazing job of insulating the dishes and keeping them piping hot. We ordered the fettuccine alfredo and a hearty pasta with red meat sauce and fresh basil. Both portions were generous and tasted great. The alfredo was creamy and rich without being too heavy, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The red sauce pasta had an excellent depth of flavor, and the fresh ribbons of basil on top added a nice, bright contrast to the savory meat sauce.
Getting takeout from here is definitely a solid choice if you want restaurant-quality comfort food in the comfort of your own space. The foil packaging ensures that your pasta will still be warm and delicious by the time you sit down to eat it. Just keep in mind that the interior temperature can get quite warm while you wait, so being prepared for a quick, hot pickup is part of the experience. It is a dependable spot for a satisfying Italian dinner in the village, and the quality of the food makes it worth a visit.”
“We visited pre-ski season and the atmosphere was perfect. No large crowds and the service was wonderful.”
“Pazzo’s Pizza in Vail is hands down the best spot for pizza around. Dan Renner and the crew make every visit feel like you’re part of the family. Their service is top-notch—always friendly, timely, and welcoming. The pizza? Absolutely unbeatable, with fresh ingredients and that perfect balance of flavor and crust. Whether you’re grabbing a bite after a day on the slopes or ordering in, they never disappoint. If you want great food and a place that treats you right, Pazzo’s is the place to go!”

“Our favorite breakfast in the Vail valley! To save yourself some time, be sure to join their waitlist thru Google! They’ll text you when your table is ready! My husband’s & son’s favorite item is the Taxi Driver.”
