Cozy little shop but the owner needs a lesson in social skills. Rude and snobby is not what you expect from a small business owner in these economic times. They also need to remove the Obama Blend from their menu. Is it there for political reasons? Cause he never did anything for Avon or the entire country in my opinion. There are better and more friendly coffee choices around.

My partner and I stopped by on a whim as we are new to the Avon area. We were exploring our options of coffee shops and decided to give The Coffee Trade a try. I actually don't think we need to explore any further because this is truly a special place. The aroma you smell when immediately walking in, is truly heavenly. In the corner of the shop, the owner, Dick, was roasting beans right there. He was incredibly welcoming and he knows his stuff! They have over 70 different roasts and 40+ flavored drinks they can make. The shop is filled with fun trinkets and Dick educated and helped us find the best way to make our cup of coffee at home. They also have a large back room filled with antiques and seating so you can enjoy a hot cup and your company. As Dick said, "we don't have WiFi, just coffee." And that's our kind of place. We look forward to visiting again very soon.

I've been a customer here for about 30 years, first splurging for fresh-roasted whole beans because the store sold Swiss water decaf, which is safer than chemically decaffeinated coffee. Whether buying regular or decaf beans, the coffee is delicious. This is not just what I drink, but it's my go-to place when I want to give coffee as a gift. The service is friendly and efficient. And the antiques and other items make great gifts. The back tables offer a cozy, quiet meeting spot.
This is some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. Honestly, they served it at the perfect temperature right away. Usually it’s far too hot right off. They really know what they’re doing when it comes to coffee.
It may be tiny, but it's an overwhelming feast for the senses. Besides the heat from the roaster freshly roasting beans and the smells of coffee drinks, you'll find a small house that's been converted into a country store setting with an overwhelming, colorful collection of knick-knacks and fun gifts for sale. Hanging from the counter window are colorful, artsy laminated menu cards displaying a large number of cutely named coffee drinks. It might be a bit overwhelming (busy looking), but in a fun way. One thing that I noted was that they have the largest collection of Harney & Sons (and the related HT) teas that I've seen anywhere for sale.

Coffee Trade of Avon has the best lattes in Hartford county. You can actually taste the freshly ground coffee! I used to go to Starbucks but no more. The coffee beans are roasted onsite and it smells heavenly in the store! This place is truly a gem if you appreciate good coffee drinks.
