Probably the best restaurant in Branford. Italian food that rivals CT's best.

Outstanding place for high quality Italian. The staff is really fantastic and makes every effort to ensure you have an experience that keeps you coming back time and time again. Great Martinis and there's a reason everyone says get the pasta!Parking: Valet unless you can find something on the street.

Went here for my birthday, amazing food and service! I love that such a great restaurant is local and loved by those near and far.

My wife asked where I wanted to go for my birthday dinner and I quickly said Rosso Vino as I heard so many great things about the restaurant and wanted to experience it! Experience it we did with wonderful atmosphere and dedicated and experienced waitstaff including Anthony and Ken! We were blown away stay with our cocktails including the best ever Strawberry Coconut Margaritas! Anthony's suggestions of Paccheri all a Bolognese and New England style stuffed jumbo shrimp was spot on. My beautiful wife always spoils me on my birthday so spoil someone and take them here for a special occasion or just a nice dinner out.

The ambiance and music brings you back to Italy, giving real life family vibes. The staff was just as friendly offering excellent customer service, with a friendly attitude which makes this post difficult for me to make. Atmosphere can only get you so far when paying an exorbitant amount of money on dishes that don't live up to the reputation. The sauce lacked seasoning, salt, etc, and anytime a chef puts pounds of parsley on a dish it's sometimes a way to mask that the chef can't cook, we had a greenfield of it on our plates. The sauce tasted canned and with the speed it came out it was lukewarm, making me believe the dish was one someone sent back and possibly handed off to me. My wife had ordered the scallops that looked as if they were sitting in human snot, and was fishy beyond belief. I know this is beginning to.come off as a rant but a lot of people may say why didn't you complain...it's because I respect the struggles of business owners, cost of materials, and the damage was done. When you get food poisoning do you ask for a gift card to the restaurant. The standards of the food must match the atmosphere, otherwise you come off as fakeResponse to owner:I take back the customer service line, the waitress is nice but you apparently can't take criticism and my palate is distinguished. My wife uses my Google account to write reviews as well, so mentioning burger King was illiterate to the point that your food sucked. I've been cooking since I was 5 years old and trained by a real Italian off the boat. Try and say it with me..salt. very easy addition. While your at it, less tomatoe paste, boil peeled plum tomatoes, some black pepper, a little more olive oil to dilute the acidity of the sauce. I had to rewrite my post in order to respond to your whining because your food sucked, it's as simple as that. Also you may want to talk to your "fish guy" because my wife was sick this morning from the one scallop she ate, and i know thats not coincidence, you could smell slight ammonia. And if you continued to read you would of seen that I didn't want you to pick up the bill, because those products costed YOU money. And we darted out out of respect FOR SQUEEZING US IN, because you had someone coming in at 6pm. So wife got sick from your food, I gave you some tips, corrected your arrogance with your inability to read, and our opinion on your food is not going to close your doors. Everyone has their own opinions, what one person doesn't like, another person may.

Our first visit to Rosso Vino was good! The ambiance was nice, the menu offering was excellent and the meals we ordered were tasty and a good size. My only criticism is with the spicy calamari, if you order I would suggest ordering the sauce to the side otherwise the crispy calamari will be a soggy sauce covered heaps. Next time we go we will explore additional menu offerings to get a better overview of the restaurants capabilities.

We had an amazing experience last night at Rosso Vino! I called ahead as we didn't have a reservation. We were told they could seat us early so we arrived at 4:30 and were seated promptly! Our server Julie, was very sweet, kind and knowledgeable of the local area. We order the muscles appetizer which was excellent! Perfect for myself, my wife and mother. For our main course my mom and I ordered the monkfish special and my wife ordered the scallops. Delicious and amazing!! We were all so happy with our meals! Nice sized portions, great presentations, perfect consistency. Five stars all the way! We will be back for sure!!

Discovered Rosso Vino's a few years ago tucked away in Branford/East Haven area by the water. It's a small and intimate venue with excellent food. Quickly became one of my favorite places for Saturday date night.

Absolutely love this restaurant, the food, the atmosphere... EVERYTHING! I accidentally left my leftovers at the restaurant and called to see if they would be able to save it for me to pick up the next day. The lady on the phone was super sweet and helpful and said that although they are closed the next day, that someone would be there to help retrieve them for me. Also, this is a true testament to how amazing the food is because I was truly so upset when I realized I forgot my leftovers. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting or living in Branford!

Service was friendly, attentive and wonderful. Food was amazing. The ambiance was lovely, changing and beautiful. Started with the Pasta Purses appetizer which was unique and divine. After we split the Papardelle Telefono, which was pasta in a lobster cream sauce- amazing!! And the Pollo Scarpiello- 1/2 roasted chicken with cherry peppers, potatoes, broccoli rabe and sausage in a delicious brown sauce- sooo flavorful. We will be back!

This place is truly amazing. Not only is the atmosphere fantastic, but the service from the moment you walk through the door is extraordinary, especially from our waiter Rob. He goes above and beyond to explain the menu, make suggestions, never lets our glasses empty, very friendly and attentive—it's clear he does his job with a lot of passion. The food is genuinely exquisite. I regret that Google doesn't allow more than 5 stars because they deserve 10 starts.
