“With warm weather in June, we sat outside on The Oak Patio to watch musician Timmy Maia cover well-known songs. The Oak Patio serves the TimeOut Sports & Pizza Bar menu which includes usual pub fare such as burgers, gourmet pizza, appetizers, salads and sandwiches plus a few high end dinners. Full bar with craft beers in addition to a good selection of wine. Arrive early if you want to sit in the comfortable sectional and seatings in front of the stage inside the fenced in area. Our friends got there an hour before the show and we still could only be seated at a table for four outside the fence, which allows diners to see the entertainment but through the iron bars.All of our food and drinks were very good and served in a timely manner: coconut shrimp, calamari and nachos for starters. Kobe burger with bacon and fried egg; French dip handheld sandwich with sliced beef, cheddar and au jus; Jerry Pizza with mushrooms and pepperoni.My partner, an old friend of Timmy's wanted to say hi during intermission so we went through the lobby of the Doubletree hotel by Hilton Hotel where this venue is located in Bristol, and went inside the enclosure so they could shake hands, catch up and take some photos. It's a nice place to get out and have a meal with or without a band. There's a lot of greenery, palms, plants and white lights under a white tented roof for the enclosed main area.”

“I love going to this subway simply cause I used to manage it when I was 17 Years old. Well I was in there the other night and ordered a sandwich. Unfortunately when I went to pay my card was not working due to a fraudulent charge . The girl told me it was OK and that she'd use her sub bucks to pay for it. I was a little embarrassed but very grateful she helped me out instead of throwing it out and sending me on my way. So tonight I repayed her with 20 bucks. She seemed very grateful for that . Terry if your reading this give her a raise lol i think her name is Rebecca . People like her are worth their weight in gold and are a complete asset to your company.I'm glad you still have awesome employees at this location!! I will never stop going to this location!”

“We often pop by the shop to pick up breakfast sandwiches on our way to the office. Recently, we asked Tommy & Marie to help us provide light food options for our art studio's Grand Opening last week. They recommended their stuffed breads (stromboli). We ordered the Italian Combo stromboli, Broccoli Rabe and cheese stromboli, potato salad, and a roasted vegetable and penne salad. The food was a hit!! The breads were such a wonderful idea and EVERYONE asked where we ordered it from. Thanks Tommy’s Place & Market for working with us and helping to make our community debut a success! “I'm new in the Bristol area. One day I decided to come eat at friendlys and ever since I've been coming here. They are friendly here, the food is always fresh, neatly served and delicious. I love it and so does my 9 year old daughter. I'd recommend friedlys to others any day , and I do actually. My niece comes here too now with me all the time

Vegetarian options: I see they have broccoli and beef bites I haven't tried the new item yet but I'm sooo looking forward to it ! Yummy

I am an eggplant parm aficionado and it is excellent. We are just thrilled by the generosity of our friends and thoroughly are enjoying the food! We love Craving for their breakfast & lunch but now we will be stopping by for the frozen entrees as well. Keep up the good work Cravings!”

“Best place. Friendly people excellent treats! I stopped in on a Friday and asked for a special cake for the next day. Everyone else turned me away but not harvest. The cake was beautiful and the buttercream is addicting. I would surely come here next time I need a cake. Loved it! The raspberry cheese and blueberry rings are also to die for. Everyone at work raves about them when I decide to share!”

“As an event coordinator for our program, I had the pleasure of working with Milton from Jamaican Kitchen to cater a meeting we hosted in December for 55 attendees in Hamden. Although the nearest Jamaican Kitchen location was in Bristol, Milton kindly agreed to deliver the order to Hamden, going above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Having previously enjoyed their delicious food for a smaller group at the Hartford location, I knew Jamaican Kitchen would be an excellent choice. Milton was instrumental in helping me design a menu that fit within our budget while addressing the dietary restrictions of some attendees. The menu included rice and beans, steamed cabbage salad, sweet plantains, mini cocktail chicken and beef patties, jerk chicken, and vegetarian stew. Milton delivered the meal ahead of schedule, and everything arrived warm, neatly packaged, and clearly labeled—making service seamless. His professionalism, positive attitude, and responsiveness to my various inquiries made the entire experience stress-free. The attendees were thrilled with the meal, with particular praise for the cocktail patties. If you are looking for authentic Jamaican cuisine, exceptional service, and a reliable caterer, I highly recommend Milton and Jamaican Kitchen.”

“Oh my god. The food is so good. The parking is horrible however the food more than makes up for it. We had trouble getting here since they opened but finally could and I'm so mad we waited to come here so long. Being vegetarian it's hard to find good food that isn't boring. Problem forever solved here. Husband and I both got the vegetable Pad See Ew. It's amazing. I couldn't stop eating it and pretty much inhaled the food it's that good. The portions are generous and even with as much as I ate I slowed down and had to bring some home. As for the restaurant itself, at the time we went it's very sensory friendly for autistic people like me. The music is nice and muted. The colors are dark and comfortable. The chairs are comfy. The lighting it dim and warm. No real sounds from the kitchen. Of course we went and were the only people there because we eat early, but it was perfect for me and for us in general. Definitely will be back. So many good things to try!”

Called asking if it was loaded with certain things and was shocked to say she makes each piece fresh and would make it however i wanted. “Food was delicious but the environment is very "ghetto" like a nasty attitude from some customers and even making you feel uncomfortable to be in the building at all. The parking lot is tight and people always beeping to get out of spots and clustered. Attitude behind the counter was good he seemed oblivious to the nasty attitudes from customers so not helpful when you just want peace to come and go without confrontation. Loud music from cars when walking in and out, the environment makes you want to lock your doors and watch everything. The food though is great. Although I watched the cook give and take money then come over put gloves on and make my to go order. Washing hands is very important to me .”

Coupon users - heads up and this is why I gave a 4*..it says on the coupons that it Excludes the following: Sidekicks, Monster, MexiCali, Beast and Garlic Roast Beef…at this establishment and apparently the one on Farmington Ave (which told me I can get anything that’s not listed on the coupon) you are only allowed a choice of 5 sandwiches..Tuna, Turkey, Meatball, Veggie and another one…mind you, the Turkey Club is 12.49 for a footlong and say the outlaw is 13.49. His words were “we lose money if we don’t limit what people can get as far as steaks and chicken”….i get it, you’re in business..you have costs and overhead..but still, is $1 gonna break the bank..either way, good experience.
Sandwich build - meatball..wanted untoasted, and was how I asked…could’ve used a bit more black olives, but no complaints. Turkey Club..same, was how I asked and came with a healthy portion of toppings.
Chicken Footlong Sidekick - was good..one side seemed burnt while other side seemed uncooked…gave me a cup of honey mustard as asked (was told I could get another sauce or could get another one).
I’ll go back again sometime to try again..I’m just never on that side of town…but there’s a ton of sandwich shops and delis in the area too.
On a scale of 1-5…I’d say a 4.1 is about right for the reviews.”

“I recommend everything, it gets busy around noon but it's worth the wait in line for sure. even place your order and pick it up 15 to 20 mins later great family great service awesome food by far the best grinder shop in town. I do catch pops George in there from time to time but Tony and Mama are on their A game all the time. there is another guy who works with them also but I don't know his name but all super friendly. “Ask anyone in Bristol whether in person or on various social media pages, they’ll say Sun Fat Chinese is one of the best in the area. By the looks of it, at any given day..it’s always busy, so it’s by far the most popular Chinese restaurant in the area…I won’t say the best.
Quick Note - Pretty much all the Chinese restaurants in this area all charge the same and the meals are the same..look at the menu, select food, pay and wait for it. The ones up here also give you a choice of egg roll or soup to go with your lunch order..that’s not just here, but ALL of the restaurants here in the Bristol/Plainville area.
Food - I’ve been here on a couple of times and have tried various items from the pepper steak to the chicken and broccoli to the sesame chicken. It’s all your standard Chinese food restaurant..I don’t see where it is that far ahead of all the rest. Sesame Chicken was good…but not fantastic. You get a heaping portion of it but a ton of rice as well. The egg roll is sometimes soft, other times hard enough to go through a brick wall.
Parking - It’s in the strip mall next to Subway in the MarketEdge/Price Chopper on Farmington Ave/Route 6/72.
I’m giving it 4* total for a couple reasons…first being, no..I didn’t do a phone order..I never do on anything, it’s always as a walk-in. Got there at 2:55, went to order the lunch and was told “it ends at 3.”…I know, it’s not 3pm yet..I’m not one to argue so I said it is whatever and just give me the regular portion then…so because of that and the egg roll being rock hard, I’d give it on a 1-5…3.8-4.1”
