“We just had our baby shower at Counter Weight this past weekend and had an amazing time! The venue is beautiful and the staff was amazing! We worked with Nick to plan our event in the upstairs beer hall and even though we completely changed our contract the week of the event, Nick was super accommodating! I'm not confident in their fried foods as I have a fish allergy, I'm hesitant about cross contamination. The one time I ate there, it was crowded and loud. “I love Mom Pop shops. They are amazing and so personal and old fashioned. This place fulfills its name "Pop's Pizza". The serving sizes are really good and filling. For ~$20, we got two sodas, two slices of pizza, and a grinder. There is not many places you can do that. And there are plenty of options for food. The atmosphere was also very cute and homey. They have sports flags (Go Vikings!) And a bunch of pictures and stuff from the community. “We were seated but then a server came and she said we had to move to the bar area because a party had been booked for the room.She wasn't too friendly. We went for our 40th Anniversary celebration. I put it in the notes, but our Anniversary was not even acknowledged. The sever we had was nice but too busy to take care of all the tables at the bar area. I asked for water two times and each time I had to ask another person for the water to be filled. The waiter gave us the check before even asking if we wanted dessert. Tender and flavorful veal special with shrimp, asparagus, and red peppers in a terrific sauce for my wife. It included a generous portion of roasted vegetable and mashed potato. I opted for the personal clam pizza. The crust is thin and crisp and perfectly matched to the topping - it already had garlic and Basel to which I added crisp bacon and hot cherry peppers. Dessert was an affogato - gelato, grappa, espresso. Good chianti and peroni beer. Service was flawless. We met the manager who was very gracious.
