“I fell in love with Birria tacos recently during a visit to TX, so I was really looking forward to trying this food truck. It was a big disappointment. $32 for three small tacos and a quesadilla? They didn’t even include the consome which is a signature part of the Birria experience. You had to pay extra for it. We asked if they had any chicken or shrimp options, which are listed on their website…nope. Just beef, which was pretty bland. Sorry, wanted to like ya, but one and done.“

“Ever since moving here from Texas we’ve been looking for good Mexican food. It is rare to find a place with authentic “sazón” but this place makes the cut. Being of Hispanic descent, we tend to be pretty picky about Mexican food but it was excellent. Their bar is well stocked too and the drinks were on the money. The atmosphere is a bit crowded but I would expect that from a place that’s as good as this. The owner stopped in to say hello, chatted a bit and really made us feel welcome. We’ll definitely be back and likely make this one of our regular spots.“

“Salsa's 3 catered our NYE party this year. Talon goes here for lunch all the time and we love Salsa's. We are overwhelmed with how great the catering is! We knew the food would be great because it always is. But they worked with us on portions when we got our headcount. This saved us money and allowed us to buy a greater number of items. Ignore the online catering menu and go in and talk to them since they will break anything down to a half tray and really help you have a great event. Super impressed, 100% recommend and we will of course go back time and time again!“

“Let’s be honest there’s no restaurant that touches Sayulita. I run a restaurant in the north end of Boston and every time I go home to see the parents in south Glastonbury I have to stop in to see Josh. Tonight we came in and waited at the bar before we were seated at our table. My mom had the blood orange margarita which was so delicious I almost drank half of it. When seated in the dining room we were greeted by Vicky our server who has been working there for more than 7 years and boy could you tell. She knew everything about the menu and even recommended some fan favorites like Bavette Steak with the Yukon potato’s and which we obviously had to order and was amazing. If you’re looking for a restaurant in the greater Hartford area with amazing drinks, food and staff you need to come here.“

“Hands down the best Mexican I've found in CT. It was super busy so we waited at the bar. Even though the bar was stacked deep with people the bartender was super fast and attentive. Great service. Got seated in the timeframe they had estimated. We all had a variety of dishes and drinks and everything was fantastic. The chorizo nachos were outrageously good. I'll definitely be back, a lot.“

“The word "hidden gem" is throw around often in the foodie world. So often enough, that it's almost annoying when people use it because when you go to the business's Yelp page they have 10,000+ reviews. Lol. Well, it's obviously not hidden very well is it? Anyway, Salsas 4 Taqueria IS a hidden gem, but hidden in plain sight...Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right in a old-looking plaza with a state credit union, a regular bank and a learning center of sorts is this gem. The outside just doesn't look like much and the sign isn't too elaborate either. There is parking out front of course since it's in a plaza so there's nothing to worry about. Once inside it's just like a traditional Mexican spot. Dimly lit, colorful walls painted with the colors of the Mexican flag, cheap wooden chairs and exposed brick. It's exactly what you want to see from a place like this.Service: I've never eaten inside the restaurant because I always order online. This place doesn't even have its own website because they don't need it. You can order online through various services, but I personally go through Yelp. So I just go in, give my name and my order is usually ready.Food: So on their menu is something I've never seen before called a tlayuda. It's a handmade dish in traditional Oaxacan cuisine, consisting of a large, thin, crunchy, partially fried or toasted tortilla covered with a spread of refried beans, asiento (unrefined pork lard), lettuce or cabbage, avocado, meat (usually shredded chicken, beef tenderloin or pork), Oaxaca cheese, and salsa. Tlayudas are typical of Oaxaca and receive their name thanks to the particular texture of the tortilla. Unlike a soft tortilla, like those we usually see at taco stands or in the store, tlayudas are usually larger, heavier, and more consistent than a soft tortilla. They offer 4 types and I went with the Guelaquetza Tlayuda which is protein heavy filled with carne asada, chorizo, and al pastor. This this is SO DENSE and so delicious! I'm 5'9", 260 pounds and I could only eat half of this thing. It was so filling and I LOVED IT. It's the only thing I've ever eaten from here. Lol.Value: The Guelaquetza Tlayuda is $18.00 and 100% worth it. Period.I loved this place! It's nearby to where I live so I plan on paying this place many more visits in the near future!“

“They are the best tacos and burritos I have ever had. The ingredients are very fresh, the meats there taste home cooked delicious, and you can tell they put a lot of time to make sure every meal is great. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. The store is really clean, spacious, and way better than Moe’s or Chipotle. This is my new favorite place for lunch. The people that work there are great and remind me of family. Much respect!!!“

“Very cool spot in West Hartford with a fun concept. It's got a brewery type vibe with a nice patio area outdoors with various types of well thought out seating areas. A rotating selection of food trucks are parked adjacent to this area and serve food for lunch, dinner and into the evening. Inside is additional seating and a bar area. Occasionally bands will play on one end of the room. I love that they promote original music here. The food will largely depend on what food trucks are there. Seems like two different ones during the week and three on weekends. They seem to be well curated for quality and variety though. In addition to this they have a small burger and fries type menu inside. The tap list is very solid here featuring a nice variety with many local offerings. The regular staff here who run the bar and deal with general operations are great. Very helpful and friendly all around. Check their social media for food truck and band listings and go check this place out!“

“Had a great experience here after many years out of the country. I had heard it changed owners a couple times over the years, so went in a little skeptical. We were very excited to find out it had retained most of the wonderful experience. Atmosphere still awesome, service maybe better than I remembered, food was really, really good. I recommend. We got the last table available early on a weeknight, but there is a cool bar area with tables to wait if necessary. Great drinks. Seating is First come, first served. So if you don't arrive early you might wait at the bar for a while...“

“Came here for dinner and drinks on Christmas Eve Eve (12/23) which was a Saturday night. They were pretty busy but we were immediately seated. Service was excellent, our waiter wasn't too pushy but came by at appropriate intervals to check on things. Loved the chips and salsa, definitely spicier house salsa than other places we've gone to, and it was delicious! My fiancé ordered one of the many margaritas and I ordered a glass of Chardonnay. I was disappointed they didn't have any other white wine available as I wasn't feeling a mixed drink, but not a big deal. My fiancé had the Gran Papi (I think that's what it was called) and I ordered the Border Bowl with shrimp. All of the food was delicious and tasted really fresh. Even the fried/breaded foods were not overly greasy. We will definitely be coming back.“

“I had a great time at La Boca. Being from out of town, I was glad the staff was very kind and friendly and kept me highly entertained, especially the barback Jeremy. He made sure I wasn't ignored, and I appreciated that. Similarly, I think the bartenders name was Toby, with the long hair, made sure to check on me often. It made me feel safe, and for a woman alone in a strange town, that's worth more than anything.“
“Went here for dinner for the first time this past Friday. My friend and I ordered shrimpBurritos. Absolutely delicious!! It was so good I took a family friend back the next night. Once again we ordered the shrimp burritos because they were so incredible the first time. We sat at the bar and Barbara was our server. She was so friendly and accommodating. This little Mexican restaurant definitely made me feel like I was in a cantina somewhere in Mexico and really enjoyed talking with Barbara. Thank you.“
