Very nice quality, selection and impeccable service. The calamari was great, and I recommend the Godzilla roll for dinner… Enjoy!

Pretty restaurant, good food but don't seat in front of the kitchen...extremely hot and extremely crowded with all restaurant employees. We asked the manager to adjust the heat but the heat was unbearable. I did not have a pleasant experience. I also felt like they were in a hurry all night, removing constantly our plates and we were still eating .Well then the waiter brings the check and we have to ask if we can order dessert???My honest opinion.

I’ve been to Hinoki in Greenwich now on three separate occasions - each time a great meal. Last night was no exception. We walked in on Sunday night with no reservation and while they were busy, they had no trouble seating us right away. It’s a nice dimly lit ambiance with a cedar smell throughout. We started off with miso soup and wanted to try something different so we went with the Asian Pear Salmon. While the miso soup was great, the Asian Pear Salmon had an overpowering onion flavor and was a bit disappointing, but the salmon was nice and fresh.Next we had a couple of the Nori tacos - Wagyu Salt and Toro. These were both excellent and I would recommend getting them.Next up we had 5 pieces of nigiri each. Tuna, Uni, some other pieces. They were all great, but I would say I’ve had better. The rice was inconsistent. The last piece that came out separately was perfect, and the rice was nice and warm. The others didn’t seem to match the same quality for some reason, but were still 8/10. Also I would not I’m not a fan of gold leaf on food in general, but especially in sushi. But I credit them for the effort. We were still hungry, so instead of dessert we opted for the soup dumplings which were great. For drinks, I had a wonderful glass of red burgundy from Beaune, and my wife had a mezcal cocktail she was still raving about the next day.Overall, this is a nice romantic restaurant for date night, or to take a group out for an impressive sushi dinner. It’s more casual than a limited seat Omakase experience, so set your expectations. You’ll be in for great food and ambiance, with pretty good service, but not out of this world.

Highlight is the spicy tuna roll… but mainly the new bartender who curated his specialty cocktail menu and it’s AMAZING. Everything is refreshing or savory and nothing is too sweet or too complex. Mixologist is a genius and worth trying!Recommend: Granny’s Fix (for the winter, see pic)Tea ceremony (refreshing tart and delicious summer)

The food was great but the people that work there were equally great, especially Jose (one of the managers I believe)!

One of those places I really wanted to enjoy more then I did. We walked in and luckily got a table quickly, but we’re advised they needed it back in an hour. Because of this we decided to stick to appetizers. We also knew coming in that the menu was going to be overpriced but sheeeesh. We got the tuna tacos, miso soup, bao buns and soup dumplings. I wouldn’t say any of them blew me away, I would even say that they were about average to what you can get frozen at Hmart and make at home. Service was good, but our waitress looked out of it to be honest.

My son and I were lucky enough to stumble upon Hinoki on its opening weekend a few years ago and since then it's become our go-to lunch spot in Greenwich. There's a sense of fun and playfulness with the food- it's not your average sushi restaurant. There's unexpected flavor pairings that are oh so good together, and everything is prepared so well. The service is always warm and attentive, and somehow it's cozy, hip and modern all at the same time. Like every restaurant in Greenwich, there's a higher price point, but it's well worth it. (Also, try the tomato for dessert. It's actually a strawberry mousse cake!)

First of all, they don't ask anything about allergies and I left wheezing so I could only think that there was some peanut oil in what I had. The waiter was lovely, but did get the order wrong, and the place was empty and they sat the only other couple right next to us, which was kind of awkward because there was barely anybody else in the whole place. I know they are owned by Miku and I was kind of surprised at the quality of the food and the wait staff. This place is very expensive and I will not be going again for the price it is.More cucumber than jalapeño. The best quality of this fish should be white and their's was pink. I know it's called yellow tail, but it should be white.

The Japanese food is always spectacular and the staff very attentive. Have been here multiple times with family and clients and never had bad meal. From the sushi to the wagyu tacos to the multitude of appetizers. If you do not like fish - plenty of incredible choices. expensive but worth it
