Great food been coming for 10 plus years. Staff has changed but food is very close to original recipes. Easily best Thai food in Hartford and surrounding cities. Give it a try!

The King & I was a great surprise. We had been searching for a new Thai restaurant since Thai Palace in Bloomfield was under new management and the food was no longer edible. This restaurant has a large menu with many suggestions and photos. It is a tiny place with ample off street parking and very cozy and romantic. If you BYOB they offer free ice bucket with glasses. Waitress was very cordial, pleasant and friendly. We ordered two soups, an appetizer and one dish. Each small soup is enough for two and after the chicken dumplings we couldn’t even finish the pineapple, rice and shrimp with yellow curry. We look forward to returning for their lunch, which has smaller portions. It would be nice if lunch included a free small soup as lunch special.

I was looking for Pad Thai restaurant and then I chose King & I Thai because I saw the good review from google. But I so disappointed the food and the way they treat their customer. The food for takeout looks too old and turn hard like it’s re-used. The food for vegetarian was put together with seafood…?

The food here is good. My biggest problem is that they do not open when they are suppose too. When I first started coming here the opening hour was at 11:30 . But they were hardly if ever opened at that time. Then it changed to 12 pm and still they are not opened at that time. I was there Friday waiting for them to open but by 12:20 they were still closed. Today they were closed and that was at 1pm. Super frustrating.

Always favorite one! They have authentic food! Had spicy mango salmon recently and absolutely loved it. Pad Ke may was amazing too!

Ordered online using their restaurant specific website and received a confirmation that my order was processed. A few minutes later I receive a call saying that I need pay an extra $4 when I pick up my food as one of the items I ordered was listed under the wrong price. I was then informed that it had to be in cash as they had a minimum for what could be paid for with a card and $4 was below that. I then tried to cancel my order and was told that they couldn't do that in store and to talk to customer service and call the number where I placed the order for my food. I was already speaking with the restaurant on the number that was for "customer service" so there was no one else to call. Also, a friend ordered the same thing from and WAS NOT CONTACTED TO PAY MORE MONEY. This extra payment business seems shady and if the price are really changed for lunch items and the same prices as dinner items the website needs to be updated. This was really poor service and suspicious behavior.

I had not been to King and I in years. Tried it again and glad my friend and I did. We did take out. The appetizers we had - Shrimp Roll and Thai Egg Roll were very good. I especially liked the egg roll. They were a bit more greasy then I would have liked, but otherwise, very tasty. Both the wonton soup and tom kar soup were yummy and loaded with vegetables. Our main dishes were Chicken Ram and Pineapple Fried Rice. Both were excellent, tasty and plentiful. Highly recommend.

Weekend dinner, not busy and service was very quick and friendly. Ordered curries and they were good albeit on milder spice side. Portions good as well and pricing was on point. Would return!

It was quite delicious when I had traditional Thai fried rice with chicken. This was similar to the actual Thai meal I enjoyed in Thailand in the US. Additionally, I tried the ice Thai tea, and it was alright. It smells like tea and has a taste of cream and water. However, I would give this place a 5 star rating.
