Delicious! Ordered a patacon de bistec, which uses two large plantains (tostones) as the "bread" of a steak sandwich. It was amazing. The woman working the counter was very friendly and helpful. We will be back soon.

You've probably passed this place a million times but the food is amazing! I had been looking for a new restaurant that sold Spanish food for a while, and just happened to stumble upon this one a little over a year ago. It's right down the block from Sazon, but sometimes it's good to switch it up! Sabor Criollo is a home-style restaurant run by a Dominican family -- their broken English is good, but knowing broken Spanish is a plus :-). There's plenty of street parking available in front of and around the restaurant. As far as inside, there are several tables to dine as well. The portions are huge and usually include a very fresh salad with light dressing, but you can switch up your plate with whatever you like. I've tried everything from the fish to the chicken and it is delicious! I would definitely recommend their pollo guisado (stewed chicken), bacalao (codfish), or arroz con camarones (rice with shrimp). Their empanadas are also really good. I like the empanadas de queso. I believe the restaurant also has hookah, but you may want to double check with them. I've been here several times over the past year and a half and I would definitely recommend everyone to check it out.

I really wish I could rate this better. My order was not worth the high price that I paid. It took 3 hours to receive my food. By the time I received it, it was cold. I ordered Yellow rice and didn't get that either. Over all, just not a good experience.
