“A big shout out first of all for our server Michael!! He was extra helpful & very patient with the 2 kids - pleasant & just great at his job. The food was quick, tasty & reasonably priced - kids were thrilled & I lived mine too.“
“I haven’t been to Deb’s in a while, but dropped in on my way home from the airport. I was greeted like an old friend. I treated myself to the Country Fried Steak with Sausage Gravy breakfast. Outstanding…the best Country Fried Steak this side of Oklahoma. I’ve never seen so much sausage in gravy as I had today. I plan on treating myself more often. Mark me.“
“The Ruben sandwich was excellent. Pastrami had good flavor, perfectly grilled and in good proportions. The Higgy steak and cheese sandwich my husband ordered was tasty as well, but our west coast background did leave us craving some au jus. It would have been exceptional with an au jus.The potato salad is a solid choice for your side dish. It is clearly homemade, and I will happily order it again.Service was pleasant and attentive. Atmosphere feels like the place the locals all know to go for breakfast or morning coffee, where everyone acknowledges each other or says hello on the way in. The cooking is excellent. A restaurant worth making sure your trip takes you by.“
“Stopped here yesterday. So glad I did. After reading the reviews was a must . Was greeted with kindness and a smile . Sat . Waitress was friendly! Great for families. Wide selection menu items. Owners greeting young families with young children with donuts . You can feel that they love what they do. Very passionate is nice to see. I ordered the Philly omelette with coffee. In minutes Served hot. Very good . I will be back.“
“It's my favorite go-to dinner. All the food is amazing. The staff are great. Best place ever. And they have out of this world pancakes and eggs benedicts. So are the burgers. Delicious everything is always perfect.Kid-friendliness: Very, very family oriented.“
“First time here and I can’t wait till I’m back in Portland CT to have another one of the top dog hot dogs. I’m originally from New Haven CT and was in town for work, drove by and thought the hotdog trailer hauled by a yellow 50s cab was just for show but then realized it was a hotdog stand they and knew I had to try them!! I’m glad I did- it was a great hot dog!Kid-friendliness: The hot dog trailer“
“Great old-fashioned diner with a Polish twist. My eggs/bacon/pancake breakfast was fine, and the cheese pierogi with onions and sour cream were fantastic -- the cooking makes them more like part of a meal instead of a snack. They were so good I couldn't finish my pancakes!“
“Was a nice stop for brunch with family. We were able to come in and sit comfortably. Service was quick and very attentive. The food was great, with just enough options. The strawberry mimosa was delightful. Also, there are no complaints about the bloody-marry perfect spice. We had a great time.“
“This diner was really good, bordering on fantastic. It was a true retro dining experience straight from the 1950s.There is counter and booth seating in the main part of the diner, in addition to the dining room attached to the back.I went in wanting a burger, but got sidetracked with a Ruben. I do not regret my decision. My only disappointment was that the milkshake didn't have any whipped cream on top. That would have been the bee's knees: just simply swell. The Olymia is conveniently located on the Berlin Turnpike, if that's someplace that's convenient to where you are. If it isn't, than it isn't.For dessert, I enjoyed the mud pie. I'm not sure how authentic it was, but it was pretty tasty.I could wax poeticly on how eating here transported me through time to a time when the future was less chaotic, but that wouldn't be necessarily what you're looking for in a review. What I will say is that I enjoyed my meal despite how my lactose intolerance reacted to that delicious milkshake I enjoyed. Mind you, I knew I would suffer for having it, but as I came here to relive memories from over two decades prior, it was well worth the sacrifice to my night's well-being.Vegetarian options: There were a few items on the menu without meat, though to be honest, I didn't study the menu too studiously. There could be more than I realized.Dietary restrictions: Please inform your server if you have any dietary restrictions.Parking: Set back from the street by a little bit, there is a surprisingly large parking lot with plenty of spaces.Kid-friendliness: As much as I detest to admit it, this place is kid friendly. As I was brought here as a kid, I wouldn't deny that experience to the next generation of disappointments. They have at least one high chair.Wheelchair accessibility: There's a ramp in the front and tables in the back. The aisle offered wide passage. The bathroom, however, wasn't that accessible.“
“A real family diner right on main Street in Middletown. Walk inside. Take a seat at a table or take a seat at the counter, either way, you'll be served quickly. Food is fresh made right in front of your eyes, and the conversation is always flowing.“
