Visiting home and stopped by Caliente Deli on a whim! I'm from New Haven and didn't know this spot existed. My next visit will be intentional! Food was awesome and flavorful!! Pork chunks, stewed chicken, rice &beans, plaintains.... wonderful! Customer service made food even better! A must visit spot when I come back home.

Tostones were super hard and chewy, I will throw them out.White rice was okay, beans tasted like Gravy, not the usual bean taste I know (I am spanish) and the beef I ordered was extremely hard.Filled me up but not fresh good taste.

I ordered chicken with white rice and beans on the side with some chopped up garlic on the side the food was terrible chicken looked old and pink in middle way too much rice and beans were mushy the chopped garlic. Wasn't chopped just six pieces of garlic in a plastic cup I will never order from this place again totally disgusting I wouldn't feed it to a dog

I'm not going to say much. There are 3 Spanish restaurants around where I reside. The further one is 5 minutes walking. In Fair Haven and I drive 15 minutes to Caliente. The food in Caliente is super good. The atmosphere, food, and the staff they are super.

I loved the food here! Except the last time I went the food got my boyfriend sick. The service is always great. I love the ambiance. I'm guessing we paid for old food which is very disappointing because of how much we love this place. However we will no longer be eating here. We picked up the food around noon. I wanted to let anyone else know that eats here to just be careful.

The yellow rice and beans are to die for! The best flavor and perfect seasoning to crave. My personal favorite is the caramel tres leches cake. I can definitely describe it as a drug because it is an addiction. I crave that cake everyday. All flavors are good but Caramel is my number 1. Best cake I've tried in Connecticut! The place is small and the parking is the worst but the food is definitely worth it. The Dominican community that works there are sweet and nice. I highly recommend for take out not dine in. Fast and great taste that is worth it!
