D'Amato's Seafood II Reviews
Was my 1st time there yesterday and it has officially become my best place for whiting and fried shrimp. Can't wait to go back and try their lobster, flounder and porgies. Cooked in fresh oil!!! Wow!!! Worth the drive from Hartford to New Haven to get it too!!!😉Prices? Go and be pleasantly surprised!!!!
Tried D’Amato’s Seafood for the first time today. I had the shrimp box and my Mom had the shrimp and fillet combo platter. We both agreed, their food is delicious!
Fried shrimp seasoned perfectly and the BEST onion rings ❤️

D'Amato's Seafood II is a renowned seafood restaurant that has been around for over 100 years, known for its excellent and freshly prepared dishes. The restaurant is always bustling, as locals and visitors alike flock to enjoy its delectable offerings.
The menu features a variety of fried seafood, including the popular fried whole belly clams and shrimp, which are made from scratch and cooked to perfection. Customers have praised the shrimp box and the shrimp and fillet combo platter, noting that the food is delicious. The hot lobster roll is a highlight, featuring fresh, buttery lobster meat and warm, toasted bread. The combo #1 has received attention for its large portions and generous amount of meat, avoiding the "sneaky fried piece" problem that some places have. Additionally, the scallops have been highlighted as among the best many have ever tasted.
Despite its location in a not-so-great area of New Haven, D'Amato's Seafood II has maintained its reputation for serving amazing, well-seasoned seafood dishes. The restaurant is known for using fresh ingredients and cooking in fresh oil, ensuring that the food is never greasy or oily. Customers have noted that the fish is always fresh and flavorful, with no lingering odor of seafood or grease.
With its friendly service, decent prices, and commitment to quality, D'Amato's Seafood II has become a beloved institution in the local community and a must-visit destination for seafood lovers in the area. Visitors have even noted that the drive from Hartford to New Haven is worth it for the experience, and many return home looking forward to dining at this clean and welcoming restaurant.
