We went in on a Friday night at 9:20 or so, and they were mopping the foyer. When we were seated and given the menus, the hostess (?) said they close at 10, and actually looked annoyed that we were there. We didn't want to cause her any problems, so we ordered things that could be made quickly. I ordered a Greek Salad, which came on a plate, with the dressing on the side. I really wanted to like this diner, given all the media attention it's received since opening. I was sorely disappointed. The service was mediocre, at best. The waitress was inattentive, and even went so far as to judge my husband's order (saying "that's weird" when he ordered his omelet with turkey sausage in it). Three stars at best. We were driving through town and hopped off the highway. My partner was given the wrong order (which, to be fair, they replaced pretty quickly), the homefries were woefully undercooked, toast was flabby and I found what looked like an eyelash in my eggs. No offer of jelly for toast or of a refill for iced tea. They could do better.
