We tried this diner on a whim and it wasn't bad. No fancy breakfast, clean establishment and nice wait staff. Food was tasty.

1 star!!!!! Only positive thing I have to say is that the "food" was on time. I ordered 1 Chicken Gyro pita with NO ONIONS!!!!!!! For my sick, pregnant wife....The chicken gyro pita had EXTRA ONIONS!!!! And I ordered a Pesto Chicken Panini.....I should have just ordered a Chicken onion panini cause I got NO pesto....and too much onion. I don't know if I should blame the "chefs" or the lady taking the order because for those 2 items, it took 8 minutes to place the order because she couldn't understand what I was saying!!

Corned beef hash and eggs were great. Breakfast special of omelet was also great. Friendly wait staff. ( Cathy) Exceptionally clean. Very easy on/ off to Merrit Pkwy

Three stars at best. We were driving through town and hopped off the highway. My partner was given the wrong order (which, to be fair, they replaced pretty quickly), the homefries were woefully undercooked, toast was flabby and I found what looked like an eyelash in my eggs. No offer of jelly for toast or of a refill for iced tea. They could do better.

We went in on a Friday night at 9:20 or so, and they were mopping the foyer. When we were seated and given the menus, the hostess (?) said they close at 10, and actually looked annoyed that we were there. We didn't want to cause her any problems, so we ordered things that could be made quickly. I ordered a Greek Salad, which came on a plate, with the dressing on the side. I asked for a spoon to load the dressing onto the salad, and never got one. The salad had 2 dolmades, 2 anchovies, two slices of tomato, 2 pepperoncini, and the rest was iceberg lettuce. The salad dressing was SO SALTY, I could barely eat it. This salad was $13.99. SERIOUSLY. My partner was offered a refill on his water, but when I said I would love one too, she ignored me and gave him water. Another waitress who heard me say I wanted water, came over to give me some. I thanked her for profusely. The prices are outrageous. The milkshakes are 13 bucks or more. While we were there, others came in, and ordered far more complicated things than we did, so I am sure the hostess (?) was furious with that. When we went through the vestibule to leave through the front door, we had to turn the key to unlock it. As we did so, we watched other cars coming in, since it was a FRIDAY NIGHT, and it was only 10pm. This place COULD be packed. But the prices, and other difficulties probably will prevent that from happening. Pity. We could use a good diner in the neighborhood.

I really wanted to like this diner, given all the media attention it's received since opening. I was sorely disappointed. The service was mediocre, at best. The waitress was inattentive, and even went so far as to judge my husband's order (saying "that's weird" when he ordered his omelet with turkey sausage in it). My husband's omelet was made incorrectly (no cheese), and the waitress doubted him when he said so. My meal (pancakes) was tasty, but the syrup was definitely cut with water. The dessert case looked appealing but we skipped it, based on the quality of what we'd had thus far. This place doesn't live up to the hype. We won't be back!

The chicken noodle soup tasted so bad and was so overly salty it was inedible. I almost asked for it to be taken off my check but I really just wanted to be out of there ASAP. I wouldn't return to try anything else after that. Service was inattentive despite few other customers. This place got a lot of fanfare when it opened but it's unclear why. Jump on the Merritt and go to the Acropolis at the next exit if you want a diner w good food and service.

This relatively new owner/chef has made good strides to provide the area with quality diner fare, improved space, menu, etc. However his efforts are going to be undermined if he does focus on the service staff and their attention to customers. We wish him well and hope he succeeds

High prices for overall low quality ingredients. Just from ordering a basic two egg breakfast my impression is they've taken every measure to save money, from single butter packets that come with the toast, to cheap clearly pre cooked bacon, to whatever it is they present as home fries. Unseasoned, undercooked, cheap crap for the price of the fancy brunch places right up the road in Westville. No thanks. Service was pretty underwhelming too

Food is tasty service is poor prices very much overpriced for a diner. On top of that one of the people I had dinner with cat food poisoning and he's been sick for a week. The place has been featured on drive-ins diners and dives with pretensions of being a five star restaurant the look of a diner and the results of a dive. Skip this place.

A friend and I came here for breakfast. We were very disappointed with our meals. My friend ordered a egg white veggie omelet with mesclun salad. What he was severed was a non egg white veggie omelet with home fries. Our server had the cook remake the order. After getting the correct order. He said his meal was alright but nothing special. My meal was awful. I ordered chocolate chip pancakes that were definitely overcooked. The only thing good was the service.

Takeout service is awful. Just picked up two salads. Neither was what was ordered. Same thing happened last week. Never again.

I was extremely hesitant to try this re-re-opened diner again. After the last opening it got bad reviews and closed. But my son wanted a BLT and I thought we'd give it a try. The portion sizes were fine, the BLT was good, came with fries, a pickle and slaw. I ordered a cheeseburger deluxe (the deluxe just meant added fries, pickle and slaw). I asked for the burger to be well done, no pink on the inside. The first bite of the burger looked fine, but as I got about 1/2 way in I saw that the meat was pink and not cooked like I had asked for. There were about 2 bites that I just couldn't eat b/c of how pink it was, but outside of that the burger was decent. The best part of the meal however, was the dessert. We also got a strawberry shortcake cheesecake and the mousse mouse cake. The strawberry cheese cake was amazing, didn't have that weird after taste that most strawberry desserts have, the cheese cake and crust were great. The mousse mouse cake was ok, nothing too special. Overall the restaurant was clean, not too many people in when I went, but the staff was friendly. I'd give Epik Diner another shot. Prices are average and the menu is pretty expansive.

I don't know if this establishment is under new ownership, or if the menu has been revamped, but "brunch" was amazing! Our server was exceptionally pleasant and knowledgeable. The menu is vast. We arrived just past noon, so I opted for a brunch option. Chicken and Waffles Benedict. Not being a fan of runny eggs, I requested that they be fully poached and they were fully cooked to perfection. They chicken was perfectly seasoned and my waffle was the perfect balance of crisp and fluffy. We also ordered strawberry cheesecake stuffed French toast. The portions were great. I needed a takeout container. They are working on obtaining their liquor license, so mimosas soon! I am definitely going to return to try more items in the very near future.

Everyone loves walking into a beautiful updated and clean dining room and feeling a warm welcome from someone who cares about your happiness. Epik diner is that type of place and Vicki is definitely that unique type of hostess. We were thrilled to find out that the old Athenian diner is now reopened on Whalley Avenue with new owners. The creative menu is extremely diversified and offers a wide selection of a variety of ethnic foods. They serve everything from unusual appetizers to exquisite desserts. The goat cheese Brulé appetizer was a remarkable combination of delightful flavors. The eggplant Gyro was tasty and offered big chunks of eggplant. The Florentine omelette and potatoes were good but could use some fresh herbs and seasoning. The appetizer was probably the most delicious item and definitely worth the visit!
