The atmosphere here is too pretentious to black people, not POC. The security guard is way too aggressive unnecessarily. I made a mistake thinking the basement was open due to the ingress and egress of other people. But it wasn't and his reaction to me compared to the white girls was segregated. Treat me as equal. Whenever I go to New Haven, I make sure to stop at Partners. It's a staple of the community and I have so many wonderful memories attached to this building. Make sure to check out the BiP mural outside!

Partners is my favorite bar in New Haven hands down. No cover fee and the bouncer is a cutie! There’s nothing like striking up a conversation and making new friends at the downstairs bar to start off the night. The bartenders are always willing to give drink recommendations and the when it’s time to head upstairs, you know the queens are about to put on a killer show! This is the place to dance freely, meet new friends, and leave judgement at the door.
