“I have to say, Honey Pie Bakery makes some outstanding baked goods! Their cinnamon buns are some of the best I’ve ever had: strong cinnamon flavor, plenty of cream cheese frosting, perfect pastry. I’ve now also had something that looked like a mushroom danish or croissant? Buttery dough, maybe just slightly sweet, with mushrooms on top... OMG! Amazing! Definitely will be buying from them again!“
“This place has an absolute artist making delicious baked goods. I sometimes buy something and don’t want to eat it because it looks so amazing. You can tell a lot of time, effort, blood, sweat, and tears go into making these delectable treats! Always an amazing experience. Visually amazing and beyond delicious. Get here early because they usually sell out fast!“
“I went here for the first time this morning. It was insanely busy yet the staff had an amazing system to keep orders moving and everyone happy. I read the background of this place and he mentioned he doesn't like waiting in lines and boy did he figure it out! All the doughnuts were amazing. I ordered an egg sandwich too which was very tasty as well. The staff were amazing.“
“Love Italian pastry and don't have any good Italian bakeries near me. Arrived at 4pm and still had plenty to choose from. Spent $60 on 12 pieces of pastry and a bag of cookies. My husband and I enjoyed every piece. Will definitely go again when in the area.Parking: Parking in rear and there's a back entrance.“
“Rocco's is a wonderful and friendly local bakery located In South Meriden CT. The prices are reasonable. Cash only (ATM machine inside). They carry pies, cookies, pastries, cakes, breads, etc. The service is great- Dorothy is super friendly. This is a grab and go place. There is no area to sit down with your treats and eat. The chocolate lemon pie is a favorite. They sell individual pieces of almond, tiramisu, etc. Everything we've purchased has been delicious. This is the only specialty bakery in the area. Highly recommend!“
“I mean come on; the specials? The staff? The coffee? I’m not sure it gets better anywhere in New Haven county. Heck I’m not sure there’s many better in the state!Always a great time coming here, we never leave with anything but a smile.“
“I live in Stamford, CT and I ordered cookies for my 3 year old’s Firefighter themed birthday party. First off the response time is amazing. Jodi answered my first inquiry in a flash and all correspondence there after was instantaneous. My cookies were beautiful and delicious. Shipping was on time and everything came in tact. I will certainly be using this shop again!“
“I can't believe I had never visited Sugar before, but better late than never! My mom requested to go for her birthday, and this bakery is a literal cupcake heaven! The staff was super nice and let us take our time to look through the cases and decide what we were going to pick out for our dozen. So many festive cupcakes for St. Patrick's Day and Easter that we loved! We've totally fallen in love with this bakery and they're by far some of the best cupcakes in CT. I already can't wait to go back!“
“JCakes did a fantastic job on our wedding cake. During the tasting they had a variety of options and we really got to pick exactly what we wanted. The outside was beautifully decorated, and the inside was delicious. We would absolutely recommend them to others!“
“The shashukka is out of this world good. The little mushroom pastries are incredible. Their garlic knots are FANTASTIC. BUT I also had the gluten free pizza and wasn't impressed. The stuff on top of the crust was divine the crust itself was kind of a miss. It wasn't bad just uneven thickness and therefore it cooked unevenly and some parts were great and some were meh. Anyway get anything else and I'm sure you'll be happy!“
“Elizabeth's Bakery now has some GF items. Today I tried their GF blueberry muffin & brownie. The muffin is amazing! It didn't taste GF at all. Lots of blueberries, not overly sweet like some GF baked goods; great texture -not gummy at all; and a wonderfully big muffin like it's gluten containing counterpart. The brownie is soooo fudge! It is not gummy at all. Tastes just like a gluten containing brownie (well at least what I remember them tasting like). These are so much better than any GF brownie mix & better than any recipe I have made at home. It's been years since I have been able to purchase a great tasting GF item at a bakery. Thanks Elizabeth's Bakery for including a few GF items on your menu.“
“I love going to my closest Crumbl cooke often! The interior is very cozy and I love the fresh smell of the delicious cookies! The staff are also very nice and always have a positive attitude towards customers! My favorite cookie is the lemon one!Kid-friendliness: They have mini cookies as samples sometimes and it’s so cute!“
“What a lovely story of the beginning of a sweet little spot! The baguettes are absolutely perfect! The SCONES are a real treat! Coffee is flavorful and steamed milk with every cup! Hard to choose, although the grilled veg on focaccia and tropical salad are my go to. I once had a Tuna Nicoise Baguette it's still one of my all time favorite sandwiches! Of course the Service is excellent!“
“I definitely recommend Atticus Market! I had the mushroom sandwich which was so good. As a vegetarian, it can be hard to find good food of substance. This sandwich was well balanced and had good flavor! I also had a side of hash browns which are some of the best I’ve ever had - SO GOOD. My only complaint is that the store is cramped if there’s more than a handful inside.“
“A M A Z I N G!!! The food is absolutely delicious. My husband and I were down this was running errands. I decided to look on yelp and see what's good and what would peak my interest. I love a good empanada. Very small quaint place. No inside seating but on a nice day there was a couple tables outside. I ordered white rice and beans for my husband, who is super finicky. I ordered one shrimp and one chicken empanada, pernil on a roll and mango cheesecake. Delicious! My husband said it's the best rice and beans he's had in a long time. Empanadas full of flavor. I actually don't really love pernil because people cook it so dry. This pernil was so flavorful, moist and juicy. Delicious. The mango cheesecake was just the right sweetness. The sandwich I gave half to my husband so I'd have room for the cheesecake. The owner was so friendly and helpful. Food took about 7 minutes to prepare. If you're in the 5 highly recommend trying it out.“
“Hands down the best stuffed bread I've ever had in the New Haven area. Eggplant parm bread-still warm from the oven-can't beat it. Unbelievably good vanilla pound cake. And yummy seeded bread. The woman who waited on me so pleasant and nice. It's rare I go to a place reviewed with alotta 5 stars that is totally worth it and more. Great find!!!“
“Friendly, responsive staff and amazing cupcakes! My husband and I bought a variety of cupcakes and a small cake topper for our wedding, and the guests raved about them. It was hard to pick only a few flavors because every single one we tried was delicious!“
“Chestnut fine foods has served New Haven for so long with such kindness, mastery and grace.Patricia is the kindest person, and Fred is a master chef, second to none. From crab cakes with sauce to die for, quiche and eggplant parmigiana that is exquisite, to other dishes available for catering! They also have a selection ofsandwiches on homemade bread, soup of the day and the best is for last…The cookies are a fan favorite, but be sure to check out the other sweets like their signature butter finger chewyYou will not find a ‘finer’ place to eat in New Haven! The staff is incredible, bon appetite !“
“Really delicious, decadent, gorgeous and creative desserts here. They use high-quality ingredients which is reflective on the price. We tried the pistachio cream puff and coconut tart. Both were divine, but a little pricey!!! I believe it was $13 for coconut tart and $4 for cream puff.“
“Nice place for a morning. Great food, good service, good atmosphere. I ordered a hot chocolate (not a coffee guy), a Belgium waffle, and a side of bacon. All of that food was amazing and I highly recommend this place if you're bored and hungry in the morning! Good cafe!“
“We love DiSorbo's! Those cannolis that you see were stuffed with care by Steve. We called and asked him if we could do a gender reveal cannoli, and he said absolutely. It was such a fun way to find out ourselves and then to share with our families. This is one of the best cannolis around the rest of the shop always smells good. They also have a truck. You can see at Events or rent. We go there not because it's just close to home, but because it's a really great experience every time.“
“We had breakfast this morning. Although they have several chairs, tables, and bar stools, they lack self-serve utensils, salt, pepper, and creamer. It would enhance the experience if they provided these amenities along with serving the food on plates for dine-in customers.“
“The bread is baked to perfection. I travel down to New a Haven on my days off, buy a variety of bread, take it back to New Hampshire and give it to people up here and even they love it. The owners take great pride in their business. You hear all the sounds and bells and whistles in the background. It's the sound of baking with Italian love and pride!!!“
“I didn't even know this place existed until my dad's girlfriend brought us there I had my daughter and my nephew and they got tons of candy they had homemade looking great desserts I loved the atmosphere it was a great place and I recommend it to anyone who's aroundKid-friendliness: It's a store almost made for kids they get to get a bag and pick out the candies people are very nice“
“Lovely very friendly staff. Coffee is a solid 4/5, could go for a slightly more flavorful bean, but I happily drank it. Baked items are pretty good as well. It has a decent footprint but not a lot of seating which was fine but they can do better.“
“Came in to get a gift for a macaron fan. Interesting and fun range of flavors, natural ingredients, pretty and muted colors. I got 6 ($15, which I felt was good) and she packaged them really nicely so they looked like a gift. She was super helpful and friendly while I was picking them. Overall a great experience, and I heard the macarons are delicious.“
“Ok if you’re looking for some bougie patisserie this isn’t it HOWEVER, this place has the character, charm and personal touch that has been all but destroyed in our culture. Andrew is the best. His baked goods are a lost art and so is the feel of his shop. It is as unique and retro as he is and that is a GOOD thing. He’s one of the few left that knows his customers by name as they walk in and strive to make sure everyone is treated well sure he takes weirdly long vacations and leaves hilarious messages on his phone. But that’s the appeal of this bakery. They make Swedish pastries and bread that you can’t find anywhere. But above all it’s Andrew and his family run bakery. If you want Impersonal Dunkin baked goods baked in a factory in who knows where this ain’t it. Bread and Basket is like visiting Main Street USA that my grandparents reminisced about.Give them a try!!!“
“I can not express how amazing this little Cafe is. Every single time I am here I am so grateful for their amazing service, kindness and delicious food. Every single one of the girls working here are literal angels - thank you for helping to make my stressful Sunday work day the best possible and for helping me start the school year with an amazing assortment of treats for my students. ?? Unlike any other!!!!“
“The staff were kind to a first-time visitor whose brain was fried from a day of travel.I tried the black & white milkshake. Pretty sure it made me see God.If Google Maps guides you through Green Garden St, skip that step; it's a tiny little road that unnecessarily loops you through a residential area. You can directly access the parking lot through Gerrish Ave.“
“Excellent I love it ? x ? recommendedParking: Accessible handicapKid-friendliness: It is a good and healthy environment to bring childrenWheelchair accessibility: I have my daughter in a wheelchair and it is very accessible for people with disabilities. I love it and the food is also very good for her.“
“Always a great place for an easy satisfying meal. The chicken and pork are especially delicious paired with rice and beans! Save room for their wonderful pastries especially the guava filled, as they are delectable and freshly made! Food is prepared in advance and dished out at counter by gloved staff behind glass dividers. Eat inside or outside or take away. Also a great place to practice your Spanish.“
“Filipek's is the only kielbasa my mother would buy for her special Easter dinner. She grew up with it and passed the tradition down, and she would take my kids there to help her when she got older. Now I'm bringing them for our Easter kielbasa and hoping to pass the tradition on to them. These small shops are very special and we need to continue to support them. The same recipe for 118 years! Incredible.“
“My husband surprised me with a Princess cake. I mentioned I’d love to try one after seeing it in a baking show. He searched online and Marjolaine’s was the only place he could find. He drove over an hour to pick it up and it was well worth the drive! We just picked up a Dacquoise. This one was a request from our daughter. We tried a smaller version that was in the case. It was absolutely delicious! So light and airy and the flavor was divine! We are driving this cake all the way to NC and are 100% certain that our daughter will be thrilled ! We are heading back in the beginning of April for a Marjolaine for our daughter in law. It is well worth the trip!!!“
“Simply the most beautiful cake in all the land. Made with artistic precision. Delivery was impeccable. The service was over the moon with the strange requests I had. Steve made a once-in-a-lifetime event even more meaningful with his cake. I will be forever grateful for Steve and all he did.“
“I can’t say enough good things about sweets on main!! I have now been getting my cakes, cookies, cupcakes from them for a couple years now!! Everything is so delicious and always make what I’m imagining come true !! From the taste to the look everything is perfect!!“
“They make the best stuff breads around. They come in in aluminum bag, that you can bake them in. I had most of their breads and they ate all delicious. What I like about them they are full of filling from one edge to the other. You don't have to go to their bakery, instead you could pick them up in you local small market. I get mine fro T&J IGA on North High street, East Haven.“
“This was my very first time in this one particular and I was very much impressed with its cleanliness, elegance, and a majority of the presentation of their baked goods. 4 out of 5!!!! I’m terribly sorry that you lost a star but that matcha brownie tasted absolutely disgusting. Never again will I buy it!!! Sorry sweetheart but it’s lacking sugar. However I do love the sweet cream filled bread you sold me. Thank you very much for helping me figure out what I want for breakfast tomorrow. Lastly, the cream green tea cake was absolutely divine. All this from being served by an incredibly gorgeous and really cashier/manager who I had to tip handsomely. I’ll definitely stop by on payday to give their specialty caffeinated drinks a try.“
“I have been eyeing this bakery ever since I moved to Durham a couple years ago and frequently pass by it. This staff was friendly and we chatted about their origins and their tasty treats. They have a friendly family atmosphere . I bought a bunch of cookies to enjoy. They also will do cakes to order .“
