We visited Al Forno for Dinner and were Pleasantly Impressed by the Food, Service, Desserts right down to the Cappachinos !!Ben and his staff were Outstanding and we really enjoyed our evening, it was a very nice Food Experience and we will return with Friends and Family to share the same Nicely Done Ben !!!??

Amazing restaurant. Easily best Italian food on the Shoreline. I've gone here my whole life and continue to even thought I now live in NYC. Alforbo is better than most places in NYC a town where red sauce Italian is getting rarer and rarer. I hope this place is around forever.

I love this place! The food is consistently good, the beer is always cold and the service is friendly and fast. I recommend the ensalada verte, the calamari appetizer and all the pizzas are crispy and delicious. The entrees are large,tasty and filling. And the house made desserts are really good. I always sit at the bar and people watch while being served by a great staff.

We came here for dinner as a last minute decision. When we first pulled into the lot, I was a little concerned. It was dark, no one around and it seemed to be the only business in the plaza. When we walked in it gave me a mom and pop shop. It was busy and full of families and locals. It seemed like everyone knew each other. We didn't have reservation but we were able to get a table in the bar area. Our server was on top of everything and knew the menu well. I really really wanted pizza and pasta but I didn't want to look greedy. I even asked if they sold slices to my disappointment they didn't. After we've placed our order a serving of bread and olives came to the table. The bread was good, I had no problem eating majority of it. I ordered the bolognese and it was soooo good, a little on the salty side but I did regret ordering half portion. My husband ordered the gnocchi with a white sauce. WOW it's like a delicious Mac and cheese. It was hot till the last bite. The portion is huge that I had to help him finish. If I'm ever in this area again, I would come here and get more pasta but next time I will order that pizza.

Really disappointed with this restaurant especially since I was there when it opened way back when. Had lunch today. Meatball sandwich was dry and I did not know it was made with veal. Had I known I would never have ordered it. Bland and tasteless. I asked for some marinara and they brought out a ramekin of cold sauce.Service was nice but a real disappointment overall. Someone in the kitchen doesn’t seem to care.

I am a regular here. From my first visit until now the staff have been so kind and helpful as well as knowledgeable about the food. The service is fantastic. I’ve come here with friends and family and the food is always amazing. I’ve never been disappointed. The food is delicious. I think this will always be one of my favorite local spots.

This is our favorite restaurant on the shoreline. We would go here every Friday night every summer weekend when we’d visit our beach house in Westbrook for 10 years. We still come when we can. The food is so amazing as are their wine specials!

Something has changed! This has always been our go-to restaurant on the shoreline but the food has changed. My wife's eggplant rolatini was swimming in watery sauce. It looked like soup. My veal cutlets were overcooked and dark brown. Hopefully things will change.
