Matthew's Bakery in Stamford deserves four stars for its delightful sweet delicacies. The treats were a highlight of my visit, making the experience memorable. Service is friendly. Store is clean.
This is a wonderful bakery, a marvelous one, with two locations in Stamford. Their pastries and little cakes are out of this world. Their version of strawberry shortcake--called Tres Leche (three kinds of milk) which is sold by the large slice, is to die for. They make many kinds of rolls, which are terrific, including their whole wheat or challah. My family loves their oatmeal raisin cookies and their carrot cakes. Their sponge cakes are addictive. A GREAT bakery.

I love this bakery and have been supporting them for years at both locations. Today is Easter and we called to pickup our cake early, they told us we couldn't. In short we got there late to pick up our dessert we called on the phone to let them know we are outside. Instead someone chooses to laugh and chuckle on the phone as I pleaded to pick up my cake.
