Decided to try their new spot in Plantsville and initially service was good and food was decent. After a fun evening with friends we asked for the bill. The server showed us an amount on her hand held device that read $201 then said, this doesn't include tip. We paid that amount in cash then gave her a $40 tip. A few minutes later one of us said that number seemed high. We asked for the itemized bill (that ALL restaurants provide) and were told it was too late, they had already closed out for the night. Thirty minutes later after asking for a manager we received our bill in the correct amount of $155 NOT $201. At this point the server returned the $46 she added to our bill and said she was doing so since we "waited so long to receive it". Obviously, this was a poor excuse for her dishonesty. To make things worse, when I spoke with the manager, Nadia, she was indignant and said it was a misunderstanding and the server had never done this before. There is no misunderstanding about stealing and if you read this and visit this place, ask for your itemized bill before you pay. I also left a message for the owner with a woman who said she was a relative but never heard back from him. SHADY and unprofessional.

The Cafe had a great art display and fun atmosphere. The food was a little slow but the waitress told us that at the beginning so wasn't a huge deal. The sandwiches were delicious

Wilted soggy lettuce in my salad, and my lemonade was in a small coffee cup. Limited salad dressing options, everything was a cream base. Such a strange experience. Definitely not worth all the hype.

We sat down with a group of 8, and had numerous issues throughout the meal:- my FIL and I each ordered an IPA, and our waitress brought us Bud Lights. When I said I thought they mistakenly gave us Bud Lights she went back and checked with the bar and came back and told us they ran out of the IPA. So rather than let us know, they thought they’d just slip us some Bud Lights.- I instead ordered a different IPA (a grey sail), which the waitress said they had, but was delivered a third, different IPA I didn’t order.- My brother in law ordered pulled pork Mac and cheese, but was delivered some weird combination that was comprised of a linguini carbonara and a pork rib slapped on top.- They forgot my order of friesNot a great experience and I think they have some kinks to work out.

I was disgusted with my experience. The size of specialty drinks are too small -8oz, including ice. On top of that when I ordered water the waitress stated that she will only fill my glass up with tap water and suggested that I take my glass and fill it up at the water fountain near the bathrooms in the museum’s lobby, I was so appalled! I have never been asked by any establishment to bring my glass and fill it up at a water fountain!! Soup was not fresh. I arrived at 12:30pm and was asked to wait while the stove warms the soup up. Overall extremely disappointing on the quality of service and wouldn’t eat here again.

We happened in here when the restaurant we'd planned to go to was closed. We were very pleasantly surprised, having never heard of this restaurant. The owner/host was very friendly and warm, and even made sure to put a note on our car for the parking so we would not get ticketed. The food was excellent. The server was also very friendly.

I was at the Mattatuck Museum to attend a meeting and decided to shop, visit the exhibitions and have some lunch from Yum. I believe they catered the breakfast buffet that was available during the meeting and it was fabulous. It is not often that you get to enjoy a stick to your ribs breakfast when attending a business meeting but The Art of Yum provided one of the best that I have experienced in quite some time. After the meeting and gallery visits I went to see what was up for lunch. I was really impressed with the menu and decided on the shrimp and grits which was just what I needed on that cold rainy day. The tasty shrimps were cooked to perfection and served over a bowl of grits that were warm and creamy with just enough crunch. The staff were all very happy and friendly. Prices were very fair. If I worked or lived in the area I would probably be a regular here.

This restaurant in Waterbury and it's sister in Southington needs more attention! At the Waterbury location, host Daniel D. Arrington, dapper in a smart suit, greeted us and made sure with were comfy including feeding a bottle to our baby. We had the Shrimp and Grits. Vegan Nachos with cream of tomato soup. Yumm! In Southington We had the Perfect Chicken Sammich with housemade pickle Louisiana hot sauce, lettuce and tomato with a side of Cheese Grits. Vegan Burrito crisp vegan burger, avocado, pickled vegetable, vegan ranch, arugula. The chefs are world class along with service.

We came out of the way for this place based on reviews, and were pretty disappointed. The food was not as described, salads were so basic as to be sad. Not the beautifully described salads in the menu. And portions very small. Items were missing..plain iceberg lettuce. The staff was barely interested in attending to us, and we had to pester them to make the smoothie that we ordered. They weren't busy, so no excuses. Would not return.

Avocado toast usually comes with avocado. This one had a hint of green but no hint of taste of avocado and it cost $16. Even the staff seem unhappy. No plan to return.

This review is for the food truck. I had a cheeseburger. The worst waste of money $10 ($9 + tip) and -worst- cheeseburger I’ve EVER had. Tiny burger (1/2 the size of the bun), totally overcooked with a dry, stale bun. And they don’t even offer mayo or bbq sauce. What kind of food truck serves hot dogs and hamburgers without the works? Just mustard, relish, ketchup. Also, served in styrofoam??! Come on! Certainly did not make me curious about the restaurant - the opposite.

My friend came from out of town to visit me ...she wanted to try this spot and she asked if I had it before...I told her my experience 2 years prior wasn't that great of an experience but maybe things have changed since then I didn't mind giving them another shot! When she called the lady at the front desk seemed to be confused about the order which were 2 bean patty paninis with avocado spread pickles and tomato's (very simple) she didn't sound confident in taking our order putting the phone on hold then coming back to whisper the same questions as to what the order was ...1st red flag! When she got to the establishment to pick up the orders she inquired about more items on the menu to which nobody seem to have any knowledge of ..2nd red flag! Got our orders which weren't ready right away despite the time given but that wasn't as much of issue...not one of the changes made to our orders were given to us any point ..not when the order was taken ..not the time in between of the orders conception up until actually picking it up.. I'll admit we could've saved ourselves some trouble had we checked the bag right there but being that no one said anything we were pretty confident that we received what we ordered...fast forward to getting home and actually opening the container to find a panini full of unseasoned potatoes smashed together with a strip of an onion and a green pepper flake! I'm thinking maybe this comes with it and what I ordered is further inside the panini..NOPE! no bean no avocado spread no tomato no pickle ..this a completely different meal altogether! So fast forward to calling to find out what happened...after the phone exchanges a few hands the chef who made our food said the he was instructed by the 'head chef' to just replace what we originally ordered with potatoes because they no longer had any of the ingredients to make what we wanted! What if I was allergic to potato? So naturally we wanted a refund...nobody there seemed to know how to complete a credit card transaction reversal (3rd red flag!) and was prompted to call Monday because someone would be able to assist then... it's Monday and guess what they're closed...how convenient is that?!? 4th red flag if you will... If we were told from the beginning that they didn't have what we wanted we could've just ordered something else lol You think when people are hungry and waiting to eat what they paid for that they'd be satisfied with such a huge alteration with no warning any of the 2 times you realized the order wouldn't be able to be fulfilled! Regardless of what conditions they may have been under at the time we just wanted the option to be able to change or completely cancel the order but nobody gets paid if that happens right?! Which is the only reason I could surmise that we wouldn't be treated with common decency and respect as not only costumers but as humans ...how could you not know that you weren't open on Monday is what seals it altogether for me ...it just doesn't make any sense it could've all been so simple lol

I am very disappointed with my meal and service received during my visit today. 1. Firstly because when I called to place the order the girl who answered the phone had no idea about the menu items and tried to tell me they didn't have (the menu items I was ordering) on their menu when It was literally on their website. 2. Secondly because when I went to pick up the food her energy was just all off. I also had to wait a few minutes for my food even though I did gonna a few minutes later to give time. 3. I was charged $16 for this wrap. I did not buy any other item on the menu but this wrap and the price online were very different from what I was charged. It's unfortunate this was my experience this time around as if gone in the past was also hesitant because service always varies depending on whose working. The manager is always the kindest and has the best energy. Only reason for my 3 stars.

I had ordered lunch at the Southington location. It was great tasty and the food was made quickly. We did take out. This is the Chicken Tahini rice bowl.

Rooftop Waterbury is the best place to have lunch on your laptop in Waterbury and Mr. Arrington is an old school proprietor that keeps the atmosphere charming and inviting.
