We did not plan to go for dinner to this restaurant so I did not book in advance. We were looking where to dine one evening and somehow we managed to get a table - very early slot but we decided to take it. Restaurant is in the old Post Office building, within Trump's hotel and looks very plush - crystal chandeliers, high ceilings etc. The bread they serve with gruyere cheese is definitely worth a mention - but be careful, we had so much that we struggled with the main course even though we skipped starters. My husband had steak and I had chicken - both were fantastic. We finished our meal with cheese cake lollypop tree - don't miss out on this! Also, the service deserves a mention - out of all restaurants we visited during our 9 nights stay in Washington DC, we had the best waiter in this place. I would suggest booking in advance as we wanted to go back, but next available booking was in about 7 weeks time!

Very disappointed. We had a reservation and right off the bat they were talking limited menu. Sat down and the hostess very accommodating but the server ignored us after giving us this glass water. The menu was very short. After almost 20 minutes we left and the server asked was anything wrong. I already knew she judged us by our clothes we wore but we were staying at the Trump hotel for 5 days and 4 nights and the zoo wore us all out. My wife wanted the lasagna she heard and I wanted a good steak. I was curious what a Kansas steak was. But after waiting so long we left. When we got up after asking us if anything was wrong she proceeded to tell us it was their last night being open. That explains it. She didn't give a hoot at all.

Overall very good restaurant. Couple of issues though. When you make a reservation and they ask if it is a special occasion and you say it is but they stick you in the far corner table in the back...not cool. There were open tables near the balcony that's where we should have been seated. The popovers are just ok. I have had better at the Neiman Marcus restaurant. The good. The bacon is delicious...get it. The porterhouse was cooked perfectly. Brussels sprouts...great. The French fries were just ok...skip them. Nothing on the desert menu appealed to us so we skipped it. As we were leaving a waiter in the lobby of the hotel walked by with a slice of cake that looked delicious. Wish that was on the BLT menu. Trumps wines were very good. The service was great. I have a pet peeve with restaurants that make you scrape your leftovers in a container at the table. They do not do that here. They take the leftovers and box them up in the kitchen and have them waiting for you at the hostess stand when you leave. Thank you for being classy. The hotel is beautiful. Feels like a "safe space" for right minded people. Lol.

we had a really nice experience at this restaurant. the lobster appetizer and gruyere popovers were delicious. we were underwhelmed with the tomahawk for two, which was extremely fatty. The sides for multiple people were unusually small as well. it was almost completely empty for it being a Thursday night at 8:30 pm. Would give it a shot again

Food was amazing service was good. Such a beautiful atmosphere we had the best date night. I'm a big trump supporter and this night will be talked about for years to Come. Thank you

Excellent meal and excellent ambience! We were a party of six and everyone's meal was excellent! The only negative was when we tried to make a reservation by phone the man who answered was not friendly and claimed he had no tables available for any size party. I went on OpenTable and was able to book 2 tables for our party and they combined us when we arrived. There were still empty tables the entire evening we were there, so whoever makes the reservations for the restaurant needs better training to learn better people skills and learn how to accommodate guests.

We've been here several times and wanted to visit again since the hotel (that this BLT Prime is in) might change hands soon. So I highly recommend, but fear what changes may come soon.

Everything was great except that we said at the outset that it was an 80th bday celebration. That was acknowledged when our server first came but she did nothing to recognize that until twice reminded and it was finally asked for “something with a candle.” That irritated everyone, resulting in a reduced gratuity. Otherwise excellent.

The food was not worth the $200 bill I paid for my son and into celebrate his birthday. My steak was cooked well done even though I requested medium, my Oscar style filet was a “topper” as the waitress referred to it as that was mixed with minimal crab meat and chopped asparagus to make it look full, my sons burger was charred on the outside and pink in the middle and our dessert was tasteless. Our server was amazing and she was apologetic for everything, which was sweet cause we never chose to send anything back we just ate it. Save yourself the money and go to Cap Grill or Prime. That Oscar style was pathetic.

Had the clothesline bacon (very fun novelty, definitely try), the ribeye steak (good but we requested medium rare and it came medium), with a Caesar salad as the side (very good). The setting adds a lot to the experience. It's on the second floor open air terrace of the inside courtyard of a beautiful old building that's been converted into a hotel. The staff was also very friendly.

Took my wife here to celebrate her 50th birthday! What an exceptional experience, the food, drinks, dessert, and atmosphere were excellent. Thank you Eddie (our waiter) for this a memorable evening!

Service was slow and they didn't seat us at a great table. They initially tried to seat us at a table that was in the middle of everyone walking by. I'd try again, as it could've been an off night, but expected better given the price point.
