The coffee drinks served by this place are reasonably good, albeit a tad bit pricey. In addition, the atmosphere of this coffee shop is seemingly laid-back, mellow, jovial, and ultra low pressure. My only complaint is the lack of variety in regard to the sweetners for the coffee.

Situated inside the dining hall of The Roost! Got an iced americano, with oat milk and lavender syrup. It's only one size. Lavender syrup was really slight, not worth the $1 imo. Same with the oat milk. Drinks come out fast.

Cameo is the coffee shop inside The Roost, a “culinary club" in Hill East across the street from the Potomac Avenue Metro. If you go through the doors of the Blackbird, the apartments within the building, Cameo is to the right next to Shop Made In DC.The coffee shop is a wrap around bar with bar seating, a long wooden table and a few soft chairs in the corner. It's simple, industrial design is beautiful. They brew coffee locally roasted like Vigilante Coffee. They have your basic coffee offerings including decaf coffee. Their pastries (muffins, croissants, etc) come from Pluma and Buzz Bakery. My latte was well crafted and my chocolate croissant tasty.

This place has the best coffee in the area, BY FAR! Some servers can be a bit grumpy but some are really warm too. Decent food as well!

I am reluctant to promote Cameo because I want to keep this gem of a cafe all to myself. BUT-- in the name of supporting local DC businesses, here I am. I've been coming here for years and it's become as regular a pit stop as the grocery store or Target. Best tea in the city. Actually delicious bakery items (versus generic, right-out-of-a-plastic-wrapper croissants and muffins). The baristas are very good at what they do, especially Jordan, who is fast, crafty and has no time for your nonsense. Can't endorse this crew enough, or this space, which is tied to a much bigger food hall that also has delicious food offerings. I am SO glad Cameo is on Capitol Hill. Support them! But also, don't go there that much so I can get a seat!Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. Kids run around here all the time as parents take a load off on the couches and at the tables.

One of my favorite shops in the city. Huge shoutout to Jordan, who almost always has my order ready before I even walk up to the counter. Cameo staff = rock

Am a total coffee snob so trust me when I say this is the best coffee in DC. Proper flat whites as they’re meant to be, delicious pastries. Great vibes and lovely team. The best.

My fav neighbor cafe, usually hit it up weekend mornings. The weekend morning crew of Kenya, Jordan, and Jet are the best and oftentimes start my drink as soon as they see me walk in. The coffee is good and I like all the pastries I have tried there.

Cameo is a hidden gem of a coffee shop on Capital Hill. It's tucked inside the Roost, a multi-vendor food hall on the ground floor of the BlackBird apartments across the street from the Potomac Metro. I'm a coffee snob, and DC has some really good shops and some mediocre places. The lattes at Cameo are up to Italian standards: never bitter, always smooth, always the right temperature. Jordan and Jet and the rest of the staff are super friendly. Finally, Cameo, because it's tucked into a food court, has PLENTY of seating. You can always find a seat and a place to get your laptop up and running. And, they have several partner vendors offering really good breakfast sandwich fare.

This coffee shop has some pretty solid food options, more than just baked goods. They also have a variety of drinks and pastries. It's in a good location and has outdoor seating and is connected to a food hall. It's cool if you want to stop in for a quick breakfast or sit inside and enjoy some quiet time while working. There is a good amount of seating inside.

The best coffee shop I've found in DC to do work from. They have a variety of seating types (I count 4! Bar seating, booth seating, couch/table vibes, and a big high top table). It has solid natural light, abundant outlets, free WiFi, good coffee (iced americano could be stronger), and a fun Shop Made in DC merch collection. It's not empty, which surprised me, because I just never hear about it! Also appreciate that they are open until 6. I can see this place being a regular spot for me to do deep work days when I need a change of scenery. Also, as far as the food hall, looks like there are some great lunch options, AND there are ample bike racks outside!
