Best owner and team! I've been coming for 10 years and they never disappoint. Great food, good prices, quick and efficient every time. Outside terrace for nice days, cozy bar-style seating inside for lunch. Love it!

I have never in my life experienced such horrible customer service. No greeting, no welcome. After ordering food, they didnt make us aware to pick up order in different section( 1st time visitors/tourists) not locals. We sat down assuming our food would be brought to us, like most cafés do. The waiter slammed by sons food tray down and abruptly said HERE!. I was taken aback for a second with what transpired before I approached the owner with my disappointment. I told him what happened and he abrasively said, and ok.... you should have picked up your order here and at least we brought it to you. Reminder after transaction of ordering food, no one said pick up your food in a certain area. Im very appalled at this point and asked for my money back. The owner/ manager was extremely rude, no apology, argumentative, and disgusting towards us. Horrible owner, the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Will never in my life come here again. I have videos to reference.

Horrible customer service. They acted as if they did not want to service my family and sat our food on a try and said “here!”. This is unacceptable the managers poor excuse for an apology was “I’m sorry you didn’t like it!” They think serving us like animals is something we’re suppose to be grateful after we’ve paid. Do not go here.

I literally never leave google reviews, but this place is just the best! I came here once and was sold! The owner is so, so kind and is always there greeting everyone. The atmosphere is super chill for a mid day break from the hustle and bustle (especially as a work lunch spot!) and so clean. My order has always been perfect and delicious! I’ve recommended it to all my coworkers and now am here to recommend it to all of you because a place with good food, kind ownership and such a sweet feel to it deserves the support! Thank you City Place!

Delicious soup and a simple turkey sandwich that hit the spot. This family-run cafe has been in business for 20 years and the owner is so friendly. Glad I stumbled across it while in town for work. Please continue to support them, places like this are special and rare!

This Moroccan family-run cafe is celebrating its 20th year, which is a huge achievement for a restaurant, especially given the last few years. A simple turkey sandwich hit the spot and the morrocan soup was delicious. The owner might be the friendliest person I've encountered in DC. Please continue to support, places like this are special and rare. So glad I stumbled onto it while in DC for a work trip!

I had difficulty finding a place that serves bacon and eggs for breakfast in DC where i had a meeting. Luckily, a colleague mentioned this place. The breakfast special with crispy bacon was great! But come early as there can be a queue

I glimpsed at their seasonal menu and noticed the roast beef Swiss melt, featuring juicy slices of medium roast beef, a smattering of onion jam, and packed with just the right amount of arugula. The arugula was very fresh and flavorful, and the toasted ciabatta was perfect. If I had any criticism at all I would say it was a little too light on the jam and a little too heavy on the aioli, as it dripped a lot on me. It's more of a carry out place, but they do have a couple tables in the corners by the window. Overall a nice little stop for visitors and locals in downtown DC who want a quick, tasty bite to eat for breakfast or lunch.
