Crazy to spend $15 for two chais that taste dusty milk stored near a bottle of chai mix.

Came here for brunch this weekend. Sat outside because it was beautiful out. The food and coffee were great. The best part was our server, Melanie. Her personality and service made it go from 4 to 5 stars!!!?? Only feedback is when you walk inside, there is no hostess and everyone is confused how to get a seat and order. I think a person or better signage (more clear language and not hidden by the takeout line) would solve that.

1) they were out of bacon. A breakfast place out of bacon?! 2)the guy at the counter didn't even know if they sold mimosas (they don't) 3) $5 for a 3 ounce (if it is even 3 ounces) cappuccino. It was decent, but $5 for 3 ounces?! 4) the food is WAY overpriced for what you get. $14.50 for literally a scrambled egg on a bun. I do not recommend. Way overpriced and the food was mediocre at best.

I love lavender lattes and I order them every time a coffee shop has them. Emissary’s lavender latte is my favorite one a thousand times over. I am obsessed!!

worst coffee, atmosphere, ever.Katt was my regular barista here. Always made the best triple shot mochas. Haven’t seen her in a while but coffee quantity has gone down. I got a mocha today and got basically chocolate water. I complained and they told me they couldn’t refund me just remake it. I got it again. Same thing. I left the drink there and didn’t get anything again. Go to Elle in Mt. pleasant or to Starbucks down the street.

Perfect spot to grab a coffee or work remotely. Unpretentious delicious coffee. Great espresso.

Lovely place to hangout. Beautiful outside area. Drinks are good, nothing too special.

I *love* their iced vanilla latte. They use homemade syrup and it is stupid good. I love seeing the flecks of real vanilla. The staff is very welcoming and you can bring your own cup from home!Wheelchair accessibility: They are wheelchair friendly

Decent choice if you're nearby but I think there are better places for coffee in DC. I got an iced vanilla latte, which was pretty good but not amazing. I was planning to sit and work for a bit but the wifi wasn't working and I also wasn't getting any signal for some reason so I couldn't even set up a hotspot. They weren't playing any music, which I didn't mind much, but it definitely had more of a library vibe than a coffeeshop vibe.

Walk in and it’s pitch quiet, felt like I walked into detention. Barista barely looks at you. Got two Mochas with oat milk for $17 and had to throw it out because it was SO bad. It was so bad it left a weird feeling on our lips after

I ordered a pour over and it took 30 minutes because they forgot about it multiple times. They were also very rude. Not a great place for a quick, nice experience. Go to Zelano.

I was looking to get some coffee and get some work done in the cafe, but the barista seemed careless and rude after there was some misunderstanding of my drink order. She didn’t bother to ask if I wanted my drink “for here” or “to-go”. She initially gave me a to-go cup without asking, so I assumed that all drinks came in a paper cup. I planned to grab my new drink and go elsewhere, but she remade my drink in a mug. I am only staying to finish my drink and write this review. Wish there was better customer service and more attention to detail.

I hate to give a biased review of a place, but I was looking forward to visiting this coffee shop and just had a poor experience. The coffee was nice, the menu was fairly similar to other coffee shops and the place is very much the DC coffee house vibe. Also I love the neighborhood. My complaint however, is that I came on an early Saturday morning and for 45 mins the staff was yelling to each other from the coffee bar to the back room, hanging out at the bar talking loudly and just being extremely disrespectful to the few of us in the place. It was impossible to get anything done or enjoy my coffee.

How can a coffee shop stay in business charging so much for such terrible coffee and bland lattes?
