I had high hopes for this place after reading all of the reviews. We arrived early and had the idea of having cocktails at the bar, at which point we were directed into the basement where we walked through the kitchen to a dingy dive bar space. The cocktails were fine. I hadn't given up hope yet.Our dinner was average at best. The appetizers were fine, except for the Caesar salad which made me red line. I don't know where on Earth they thought that recipe came from, but putting boiled eggs in a caesar salad is criminal. It tasted like nothing more than mayonnaise and Parmesan with a boiled egg on top. It was the most offensive Caesar salad I've ever had in my life. The gnocchi with the lamb ragu was decent but the scallop risotto was oily and heavy. We barely ate our entrees. The service was fine until the end where it got a little bit slow. I would skip this....not impressed at all.

A favorite of mine in DC. I hadn't been since before the pandemic, and was happy to see that everything which made the restaurant good was still present. A well-rounded menu, a very good wine selection with a range of price points and the always excellent service. The food is so good, and the care taken by the staff is top notch. You don't feel rushed, get to enjoy the experience. Highly recommended.

Whether it is date night with friends or just the two of us... This place is one of my favorites. It has a quaint and romantic ambiance. Not a place to rush through dinner! I love to start with a cocktail favorite, an Old Fashioned created in an old fashioned manner. Always like to try two or three apps, not the ones you click on, but marvelous morsels of goodness! Move on to a plateful of rich, delicious pasta, then pause. Toast to life after the pandemic with apropos Posecco. Slowly, indulge in the made-in-house Tiramisu...mmmmm. Need I continue?

We had a birthday celebration last night and it couldn't have been better. I had the brussels sprouts and the filet. Perfection! Michael was our waiter and he was superb. Knowledgeable, efficient and so friendly. Wonderful experience.

Haven't been to Floriana in awhile, and it's as good as ever. The food was fabulous (very generous portions), and the red wine special for the evening was delicious. The service was perfect and the ambiance warm and cozy. We'll be back!

Been here twice for a regular date night and a make-up Valentine’s date most recently with my gf and have been blown away by the food each time. I’d recommend to get there before 7 as the space is small and can get pretty loud. My girlfriend and I dined at 6 and it was very quiet and intimate. The decor is this lovely victorian style lit by candlelight, really lovely. We started with the meatballs, which were $20 for three but the flavor was honestly worth it. I’ve had the Tortelloni Mignon both times I’ve been, it’s AMAZING. It just melts in your mouth, I could eat a bucket if one bowl wasn’t so filling! I cleaned the plate with their house bread. I’ve been dreaming about it ever since. My girlfriend had the crispy chicken dish—they give a very large portion which is great—and it was also delicious. The glaze was tangy and sweet and the chicken was perfectly crisp and moist. The wine was also great and our server was really attentive—never had to ask for more water! He was on top of it! Overall, such a great second experience and will definitely be coming back again.

First time here but won't be the last. The best Italian restaurant we've been to in DC by leaps and bounds. Everything from service, food and ambiance was fantastic. And all within walking distance from home. Can't wait to go again.

I was not impressed by the service I received tonight. In the middle of us ordering, our waiter went to the table across and took that groups order instead. We've already waited 30 mins to get any attention let alone water. My friend and I felt discriminated against - we look young compared to everyone else in the restaurant. I asked for the manager explaining how disrespectful that was. The waiter instead apologized and comped our salad and gave us a free dessert. The waiter apologized again at the end of our meal and explained he's been working since 9am. That does not excuse the way we were treated. If the waiters are overworked, please address this as it might affect future customers.

The place is nicely decorated, food was good too. We celebrated a birthday, and I mentioned it when booked. During the dinner, there was no acknowledgement of the birthday. The waiters were rushing, bringing the main dish while we hadn’t finished the starters. It was also chill inside, so we had to keep our coats on.

The food is fantastic, the wine list is robust and offers fantastic options for pairing choices, but the experience can feel claustrophobic depending on when you go. Despite being located in a gorgeous old home, the atmosphere is more cramped than it is intimate - but that doesn't detract from how excellent the menu is especially for their holiday tasting courses.

When deciding where to eat on Valentines day, I browsed Opentable and Resy and many restaurants disclosed at that point that the only available option was a set menu for a certain price. I did not want that, so when I came across Floriana, I happily saw that there was no disclosure that there would only be a set menu available. I booked it and thought nothing more of it. Upon arriving, we were presented with a multiple course menu. I asked if we were able to order off the regular menu, to which we were told no. The price for the set menu was not disclosed on the menu or verbally by our waiter - and frankly, if it had been, we may have left. We purposely chose Floriana to avoid the set menu experience and it seemed we had been duped into it. When we got the bill, it turned out it was $110 per person. I would not recommend going here if there's a chance there might be a set menu, but the normal menu has a great lasagna and visible prices!
