First time visiting this sister restaurant of the now defunct Nama Ko. Familiar menu items. Nots as extensive. Priced lower than Nama Ko. Sake list is affordable. Dined at Sushi counter. Had enjoyable meal. Staff were friendly. Small neighborhood gem.

We went for happy hour and enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. We ordered from both the happy hour menu and regular menu. HH prices are $8 vs $12 for similar rolls, with 6 pieces vs 8 for the signature rolls. The crispy shrimp and tuna-avocado rolls were favorites from the HH menu. The Candy Cane roll was excellent (reg menu). Nice experience and service with a smile.

Inauthentic experience (loud Spanish music), perfunctory service, high prices, the sushi was of moderate quality. Even though we were the only people in the restaurant the food took an inordinately long amount of time to be served.

Small, dark, stuffy, strictly bar, not a restaurant. The menu for sushi is extremely limited. The sushi pieces were very small, and unlike the standard, each nigiri sushi order came in a single piece. Each piece costs between 6 and 10 dollars! The Toro, fatty tuna, was plain tuna, nothing to do with Toro.To make matters worse, when I got the bill, it had a surcharge for " living wages" ! Which I refused to pay. What a cheapskate owner! I was told in confidence that this extra charge is a "known problem," especially since the employees never see the money! The only positive experience was the fact that the waitress was nice.No parking, not kid friendly, no wheelchair accessibility, tiny tables. To me, his place is designed for maximum dollar extraction while offering minimum and bad taste food. A very very bad experience.

Fantastic experience. Sushi on point, salmon and tuna melts in your mouth. Really intimate spot with great service, cocktails and sushi. Will return,

Wait staff tried to apply a 20% gratuity charge (I was only a party of 3) on top of the 5% service fee. Then tried to apply the meals tax on top of both fees which I do not believe is legal. When I complained, they removed the 20% gratuity charge but did not fix the issue of the meals tax being assessed on the 5% service fee. Coupled with the fact that the service was slow and my party and I felt u welcome, I would not return here again.

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Nama Sushi Bar and Restaurant recently, and I cannot sing their praises enough! From the moment we walked in, it was evident that this place was something truly special. My fiancé and I visited Nama Sushi Bar and Restaurant to celebrate her birthday, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff went above and beyond to make her feel incredibly special throughout the entire evening. First and foremost, the ambiance was perfect for a romantic birthday dinner. The restaurant had a warm and inviting atmosphere with soft lighting, which set the tone for a memorable evening. The star of the show, of course, was the food. The sushi was nothing short of amazing. Each piece was beautifully presented and tasted incredibly fresh. We tried a variety of rolls, and they were all outstanding. The creativity in their sushi creations was truly impressive. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or a newbie, you're sure to find something that delights your palate. But what truly stood out was the extra mile the staff went to make my fiancé's birthday special. They brought out a birthday dessert with a lit candle. At the end they also gave her a complimentary drink to use on her next visit or participating partners. The service throughout the evening was impeccable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and always ready with a friendly smile. They made us feel like cherished guests, and it was evident that they genuinely cared about our dining experience. Nama Sushi Bar and Restaurant exceeded our expectations in every way. They not only served incredible food but also created a memorable and heartwarming atmosphere that made my fiancé's birthday celebration truly special. If you're looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or simply indulge in exceptional sushi, Nama Sushi Bar and Restaurant is the place to go. We'll definitely be returning for more.

My friend and I decided to take advantage of DC's Restaurant Week and check out Nami Sushi Bar -- and it didn't disappoint. From the appetizer options (both of us checked out the crab rice) to the PLATE of sushi for the main course...and the dessert....pure perfection. Also, as a chopsticks amateur (left-handed, so I'm a lost cause), I appreciate that I didn't get a side-eye from the staff -- which has happened at other places before. Seriously though -- I will be hitting this place up on a regular basis.

Highly recommend. The maki/sushi was very good and sliced a little thinner than usual which made them so much easier to eat - I didn’t know I needed that in my life until I had dinner here. The sushi was fresh, well prepared, and delicious. The service was great, the atmosphere is awesome - the decor is really classy but also fun, color-wise. Last note - Happy Hour (4-6pm, M-F) is absolutely worth it, you save anywhere from $2 to $4 bucks on apps, rolls, and drinks.
