Disappointing... Really attractive store and our waiter was super nice/attentive, but everything was pretty "meh".The soft boiled egg app was hard, overcooked egg (the entire point of the dish was to dip the bread in the egg yolk). They acknowledged it and took them back, then it took another 30 mins and it came out the exact same way -- totally overcooked! They were out of most of the pastries, the waffle was bland/cold. The omelette was missing the caramelized onions, etc.Drinks were great, but overall disappointing.

So I didn’t know you have to make reservations for brunch. I don’t live in DC so don’t know the routine. Was in town and wanted to take a good friend out for brunch and they were packed and the hostess was really rude about it. We waited for a few minutes and another couple came up and asked for seats and the hostess was super nice to them and tried to find them some seats, I even caught her eye and looked at her like “if you got space for them what about us” and she poked at her computer a bit and then turned them down finally. 10 minutes later when we walked by again there were still empty tables but apparently had “reservations.” I still try to go back and try the place when I’m in DC next and I’ll be wiser about it but no need for a restaurant to be rude about things.

Petite Cerise’s pastries are delicious…BUT their purchase policy is Jekyll and Hyde. During the week day - you order inside and take out, yet on weekends you’re denied this option. The customer will ALWAYS be right and your “dine in weekend only” policy (not posted) is draconian! The receptionist was sweet until I said “I’d like to order several pastries to go!” She said “dine in only!” with an attitude. I didn’t quite hear her and said “yes, I’d like to buy a few pastries to go”…so she repeated herself in an arrogant tone. I then said, “ok, your lost!” and I left. You shouldn’t deny customers in 2024, especially those of us that work on multi day corporate conferences. The expo center is literally across the street.Fortunately for me, I saved $100+ dollars on this one order…of which you lost today and will continue on the next consecutive trips I’m in town.Regardless of your “non posted weekend policy” you should cater to all clientele. Please understand…..“Word of Mouth” with dinning recommendations in the expo world is huge…like HUGE. This perpetual referral cycle from industry peers stimulates local business that helps employers grow their businesses, thus hire more employees and the cycle continues. So, thanks for not providing the services today….you could have. You’ve lost me…a customer that advocates for many businesses everywhere I go. One last point….the very 1st person to greet the public at Petite Cerise should be professional, kind and smile. Yours wasn’t this morning. This sets our mood for our day, our dinning experience and our daily routine throughout the workweek.I wish you well! Cheers

I stopped in 04/26/24 around 12:30pm. Wanted to try the pastries because there was a lot of social media hype. Walked in greeted the hostess and asked about the pastries. She instantly had an attitude, said pastries are sold from 8a-11a, they were serving brunch. Told me I could get pastries if I went to the bar and ordered from Dan the bartender. I get to Dan he was kind and happy to serve me. I told him what I wanted and he got it together. Last minute I saw they had baguettes and asked if he could add that. He checked with the hostess, she immediately rolled her eyes and said $15. I paid $40 for three pastries, a cold brew & $15 baguette, I left a tip for Dan. The person who plated and boxed the food wasn’t welcoming either. Food is subjective and people have diff taste. The pastries were ok. Personally I prefer a crispy flaky crust for my croissants. Staff was not welcoming, friendly nor kind. Do better.

I'm not sure why this place wasn't packed on a weekend. Leaving this review in the hopes that it'll start blowing up.It was truly one of my favorite meals I've had in DC recently. Pleasseeee order the asparagus!! I could DRINK the sauce it comes with. We got the poached razor clams and scallop crudo-- both were phenomenal. My friend hates raw fish and even he liked it. The baguette and butter: so good. Their French fries are the most perfectly crispy French fries... ever? The Beef bourguignon wasn't over salted and just so well done. We dipped our fries in the leftover sauce. And the PISTACHIO PROFITEROLES?! We were shook. The whole meal top to bottom was incredible. Definitely coming back here!!

I’ve been hearing about this croissant cookie for a while and heard that Petite had the best croissant cookie in the DMV. I stopped by around 1:30pm to check it out but unfortunately I was too late. They were sold out of most of their croissants on their menu. Tough pill to swallow. I ended up just getting a mimosa. Pro tip, most of their pastries sell out before noon.

I am so glad that I was able to visit Petite Cerise last week while in Washington, DC. It was a very memorable experience with delicious food from start to finish. The spring salad with the wonderful vinaigrette began the night and it ended with a profiterole that was scrumptious. Drinks from wine to a mango frozen beverage were delightful. Lily was the highlight of the night and gave impeccable service. She knew the menu, made great suggestions and was truly a joy to answer all of our questions. The charming ambiance of this upstairs area with fresh beautiful springtime flowers really put a stamp on the evening and set up the night for being pampered. It was a very memorable experience for all in attendance that I hope to experience Petite Cerise again in the near future.

Very kind service, server/cashier was very welcoming and nice. Got a pain au chocolat which was very satisfying. A nice place when you want to escape from the Convention Center. Cute atmosphere à la Emily in Paris. Will come again.

We came in for the pastries and coffee and left with disappointment. We made a reservation via Resy and when we arrived there was no record of our reservation. After we sat down, took 20 minutes for someone to come take our drink order. He then rushed away even though we were ready to order food. Another 20 minutes go by, drinks arrived separately. The glasses were covered in spilled coffee when it arrived at our table. No one noticed or cleaned it up. The server made comments that are just straight up passive aggressive.Food was decent. It’s just unfortunate to pair it with horrible service.

I went to treat a friend to a birthday dinner, the food was all delicious, the cocktails were great, but when it came to paying unfortunately the waiter was sexist and old school. I (female) paid for the meal, even handed the card and bill to the waiter, yet when he brought it back he walked straight to and only made eye contact with my (male) friend and handed it directly to him, despite me reaching out for the bill and MY credit card. Not the biggest of issues, but it was so pointed and rude despite several indications that my friend had nothing to do with paying. It’s 2024 and we can do away with assumptions. Just put the bill on the table if you’re not sure. After a lovely meal it left a sour taste in my mouth!

I drove for an hour to get the pastries to-go. Apparently they only sell to-go from 8-11 am. The female staff was rudely telling me information. So i give them 5 stars for food because they must have been amazing that they want to gatekeep. But service was very bad. The staff could have told me politely and invited me to look at what is left for dine-in service. I would have changed my mind and eat there. But to be rudely written off like this does hurt my feeling. And I was hoping to also come back for dinner and maybe try the fine-dining restaurant. If this is how they are doing business, then I may not be their customer.
