I was really excited to try this out and realllllly hungry. The rest of the food hall was pretty empty and one of the stalls was vacant. The burger took fooooorever to come out to the point where I asked twice and almost decided to leave. Not worth the wait. Very very greasy and not that flavorful

They are permanently closed from what I can tell as of February 2023. Was excited to try them but came across an empty, for lease storefront. Dug into their Facebook and finally saw it said permanently closed. The bakery next door also moved locations for anyone interested in it too lol.

The food was tasty- we ordered the double tocino burger and palabok with soft shell crab. The burger patty was seasoned very well. The burger also came with atchara and grilled pineapple. All the flavors came together very nicely. Slightly disappointed that it was not served on the ube bun. The palabok was equally yummy. I've had traditional palabok made w ground pork in the sauce and shrimp on top. They didn't have shrimp, so I asked for the soft shell crab. Instead of ground pork in the sauce, it was made with diced smoked bacon. Tocino, crab, bacon- total indulgence for us.

The tocino burger at Pogi Boy is something you're drawn to because of how it looks and then you realize that it's something better as a theory than executed. The flavors are great individually but I just think that it's a little too sweet for my taste. Although, the bun doesn't quite go well because it adds yet another layer of sweetness. I think the idea of having sweet Filipino flavors meshing together is a good idea but it's just a lot of sweetness at once.

Pogiboy has good food, but it's not great. I think the problem is they suffer from effectively because you can end up with cold food. With that said the flavor is good but their execution is very lacking. I hope with some effort they can do better.

It's located inside a used to be food court but they're the only one there. It's nice location very spacious. Looking for "merinda" small afternoon snack so I end up getting the palabok and chicken bbq. The palabok was super flavorful and the shrimp are decent size. The bbq was a little dry but savory. Grateful to find a filipino restaurant in dc.

It's really good and I recommend this place if you're in a mood to eat some Filipino food!

Excellent reinvention of Pinoy food. I love the Loaded Palabok. The Pogi Burger's flavor profile is excellent but the bun got too soggy towards the end I think because of the juicy pineapple, still amazing tho. Pogi Nuggz is a bang for your buck, pretty decent amount for the price. I know this is not everyone's cup of tea but PogiBoy captured the authentic Pinoy flavor on food that is not so traditional.

Disclaimer: I've never had this kind of food, so wasn't sure what to expect/what to order, so I just took the rec of the cashier: the lechon kawali bowl. The pork belly was cooked well and had good crispy, crunchy, chewy ends, but the rest of the bowl felt thrown together. Raw red onion, a massive foundation of seasoned rice, and delicately sauced cucumber. Overall, pretty weak. Maybe it's worth trying something else, but as a "crowd favorite", the lechon kawali bowl is kind of disappointing. Staff are friendly, and vibe is good. Would have been fun to get a drink if the bar was open!

We happened to be in The Block for Rose Ave and saw some of the offerings by PogiBoy and redirected our lunch plans. For filipino food in the area, PogiBoy does a good job of hitting the spot. Their lumpias were by far the stars of the show; We ordered six and downed them within 5 minutes of our order. If you're looking for a quick fix for your filipino food craving, PogiBoy is a solid choice. It's not the best filipino food you'll ever eat, but also not the worst, and given its price point, I could easily see it becoming a go-to of mine if I were more frequently in the area.

I’m partially Filipino, so I was very excited to try this place. A bit pricey for the portion size, but quality was still great. We had the lechon kawali bowl and the soft shell crab burger with the ube bun.The lechon bowl came with 4 chunky pieces of roast pork belly that were perfectly marbled and freshly roasted. The egg on the rice was nice and jammy, and the cucumber onion salad had a nice vinegar kick to it. Not much garlic in the garlic rice though. The soft shell crab burger was perfectly fried. It tasted good, but was just small and definitely would not fill you up if that’s all you ordered.Overall, I would definitely return and try the other things on the menu as well. It’s hard finding good Asian food in downtown DC. This place def hits some good notes.
