We were looking for a quick drink/snack and saw there was some open seats at the bar so just hopped in. Unfortunately, we came in on (I believe) the last day so they were missing a lot of things but we were still able to order a Summer Tea, Pretty in Pink, and half a dozen oysters. The oysters were nice and briny, some pretty huge. The Summer Tea was really refreshing, not too boozy. Didn't try the Pretty in Pink but my girlfriend really enjoyed it. Sad to hear that they are closing (are closed?) this location but luckily they still have the Wharf location which is still great.

I've ordered delivery several times. Absolutely love the oysters. A LOT!! The mac & cheese is just ok.

I would give this place more stars if they had more oysters! For an oyster bar, to only have 3 types of oyster... that is too small...but the food is great and I would come back for the baked mussels

I was very excited to try the oysters at Rappahannock Oyster Bar because I have heard nothing but good things but I have to be honest and state that I don't like East Coast oysters. I'm a West Coast girl and just find the oysters coming out of the Pacific ocean to be superior over Atlantic Ocean ones. The only exception I've found were oysters from Normandy, France. I was excited to try the river oysters and Olde Salts. We also got some grilled oysters, some with a chipotle BBQ butter and some with smoke jalapeno butter. While I can't say that they were better than West Coast guys, I really did appreciate these oysters. The river oysters were weird to me but in a good way. They had an interesting sweetness and I found them best alone, with no accompaniments. Everyone else liked the mignonette with them. The Olde Salts were exactly that. Super briny but had a really clean taste to them. A little bit of lemon juice was the perfect bite for me, while everyone else was putting a hot sauce, cocktail sauce mix. The grilled oysters were very good. My boyfriend was actually upset at me for never introducing him to grilled oysters before, they were that good. The chipotle ones were sweeter than we imagined they would be but very tasty indeed. Service was ok. A bit slow and we were 15 min late to our dinner reservation so we had to go up to the bar to pay. I couldn't be mad at our server though because she had just started working there.

I was excited seeing the Michelin rating and wanted to come here but the behavior of Kevin, the manager, in the red jacket (Caucasian guy with blue eyes) was either being mysoginistic or racist because I'm a small Asian girl. I was grabbing a chair that was extra to bring to another table and he angrily demanded "Miss" and that he needed all the chairs. I asked him to say please or thank you and instead he continued to be rude and dismissive and didn't apologize. His amount of anger was scary. All of a sudden when I showed up with my tall Caucasian boyfriend he was nice. I'm disinclined to ever dine here. I may be Asian, but I will stand up for myself when there's a bully. If I were not a small Asian female he would not have dared to talk to me like that.

Delicious Oysters and the Shrimp Tacos and Oyster Po Boy fried and seasoned nicely! The French 75 with Cognac is a MUST HAVE!

Very disappointed by the food here. their oysters make the Guiness book of records for being the smallest oysters ever served - about the size of a penny. Hard to say how they tasted because they were overwhelmed by the batter (poor boy) or the sauce (for the grilled oysters). (The sauce was tasty.) Terrible value - $18 for 6 small oysters grilled. To sum it up, don't order the oysters. My wife had a crab cake which was good but overpriced.

Favorite spot in dc. Great cocktails, super friendly staff, delicious oysters! 10/10 recommend; try the cask of amontillado or lions tail for a bourbon cocktail.

A true gem located inside Union Market! The menu is not overwhelming if you're looking for other dishes besides oysters. I will say when we have gone before the oysters were delicious and cleaned well. This time we got the grilled jalapeño butter oysters. Overall it was ok, very gritty and the jalapeño flavor didn't stand out. The wine selection is simple and love the service. The staff there are friendly and quick to take care of you!!

Came here yesterday evening and we absolutely adored it! It's inside Union market which we thought might be too loud but we really enjoyed the atmosphere -- waiters were attentive and friendly. The fresh oysters were good (not briney) but probably our least favorite of our order. We loved the fried oyster tacos and the grilled oysters with the buffalo sauce -- highly recommend these! Everything is a bit on the pricier end but we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

I am a purest -- just give me a raw oyster & im happy -- but the waiter recommended The fried oyster tacos & the grilled BBQ oysters -- and they took oysters to a whole new level! Fantastic meal.

The ambience is cool. The raw and the grilled oysters tasted great. I prefer the Old Salts more raw because of the ocean brine. Staff was friendly. I highly recommend and would come back with people.

We tried assorted oysters, raw and grilled .. they were all amazing! Also had the fried basket but that was a bit greasy and lots of fries not so many oysters or shrimps. PoBoy was good too. Somewhat small portions Great friendly service ... would definitely come back. Might have done better with some of the other options. I guess we should expect the fried basket to be fried!
