Pros: went here for a birthday dinner/drinks and had an absolute wonderful time. The service was wonderful and we found a table quickly on Friday evening, and the place was super moody with the lights dim, but high enough that you could have have great conversation. The food selection was almost overwhelming, and everything we got from the nachos to the beef burrito to the amazing noodles were delicious. The two different types of margaritas looked good and tasted good too.Cons: no formal parking structure so you have to go on a search and destroy mission for a parking spot, which took a little bit because the streets are narrow and of course, there were lots of Ubers and things like that dropping and picking people up and car is trying to get through. But after a short walk with a few blocks, we found a spot. The nonalcoholic drink menu from the bar is definitely lacking. It's basically seltzer waters and no mock tails, but when I went up to the bar, I had more success and getting a ginger beer and I'm guessing they probably would've made a Mocktail to you just can't order it off the QR code menu.I'll definitely be coming back, it's a great spot where no reservations are needed and lots of food options are available for a smaller large party.

Fun food hall by the Potomac Ave Metro. Perfect for a night hopping between here, Trusty's, and Hill East Burger. There is tons of space, and everything is so clean and welcoming. They close relatively early, around 10:00 pm on weekends, but Friday around 9:00, there was still a solid crowd. We grabbed two seats at the bar at Shelter, the beer spot with a great selection chosen by the same people behind Churchkey. Of course, they have an amazing diversity of choices, including some rare, specialty stouts we fell in love with. If you enjoy your beer, there is no better spot nearby. If you have more time, they also feature a Shop Made in DC, a coffee shop, meats and burgers from Red Apron, a dumpling/noodle bowl stall, an Italian restaurant, and a pizza slice joint. And at least a couple others I am forgetting, so top notch re-visitability.

Wanted to get out the house and experience some fresh air and a change of scenery. Decided on the Pimento burger and it did not disappoint. Thoroughly satisfied with the taste, it is hard to find a good burger in DC and better yet write a review but here I am. Every time I put it down to get a relief and catch my breath I found myself picking it back up and savoring the flavor of it again. Would definitely recommend and will be back.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the roost! Whether you're with a big group or going alone to telework, I highly recommend. They have so many options! Asian, Mexican, American, pizza, a coffee shop, and a bar all in one space! You can sit anywhere in the entire food hall and order food from anywhere and they will bring you your food! Most recently I went and got a delicious coffee, but I've also been for dinner and I went for a Taylor Swift cocktail night, too! It's big and the people who go are relatively diverse- young adults, families, etc! The windows are huge so there is a lot of natural light! And there's diverse seating- bars, booths, and everything in between! Check it out!

The Roost is a beautiful food hall with table service and plenty of seating! The restaurants here are great, though a bit pricey. The coffee shop at the end of the roost is perfect for studying or spending time with friends. I love the collection of DC-made gifts for sale, too.

The food hall is awesome! Huge space where you can come with groups or alone to work. You order everything from a QR code on your table and things including water and dinnerware are magically brought out to you. There's something for everyone; bars, Asian, Pizza, Tacos. Truly a fun place where you can't decide what to eat.

Cool space, lots of food options, rare craft beers, indoor/outdoor seating, food was so-so. The ambiance was really cool. Lots of great cuisines to choose from. However the Peking duck buns and peanut noodles were super bland. The thick square pizzas were excellent! Crispy edges and very flavorful:) Service: Food comes out fast and servers were attentive, always cleaning away finished plates and glassware.Parking: there's no parking garage but there is street parking in the surrounding area: 2hr parking on weekdays, and free parking on weekends

Almost all of the food from the various venders is excellent, but there are a few things they could do better. First, the app that you have to use to order food is very poorly designed, and the design seems to change week to week, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse. For example, it's often difficult to select a specific vendor, so you are left scrolling through tons of beers, cocktails, and other food. My other main complaint is the shelter. The beer is not served in honest sizing. Their becher isn't the standard size, so you don't get a pint. They used to explicitly claim a 16oz pour, but I don't see that anymore. Either way, it should be transparent and consistent.

While the concept is cool with the open feel, a la carte ordering and variety of food offerings, the quality of the food leaves a lot to be desired. In addition most items are priced too high especially given the smaller portions. While the beer draft menu is fairly expansive, the pours are smaller than the 12 oz that is standard but they advertise as12 oz which is false advertising. If you're looking for a good spot to hang out with friends and socialize this is it. But if you want to get your moneys worth look elsewhere.

I'm back at my favorite neighborhood spot and trying some new meals! The peanut noodle is so beautiful and yummy! The chicken platter was also wonderful! And they have poutine now!?!

I love this place because you sit down wherever from all the different option and order from the QR code. They bring you your food and water. I really like atmosphere here because it's open concept and great place to hang with friends, families or a date. They have a variety of options since it's a food hall like tacos, pizza, sushi, burgers, ramen, itwnoodles, coffee, bar and more. I especially love their sushi because it's super cheap. I really like the Cambodian noodles and salmon cream cheese roll. However, I was not a fan of the shrimp tempura roll. They do take about 20 minute to provide the food. But I love coming here!

Ambiance was very nice. One of the more intimate food hall settings- there were many people studying solo or grabbing lunch with their friend. Service was impeccable- I must have been so clumsy this day. I dropped my napkin and utensils a couple times, but there was always someone to clean up after me within seconds. Food came out quickly and was nice and hot. Would recommend the rosemary garlic fries.

Me and my fiancé went on a walk around Capitol Hill with our dog and stop by the roost for brunch. We ended up getting a good amount of food which was nice to try variety of their options. The item that did not stand out were the wings. The nachos were on point. My fiancé says that a salad was the best salad she's ever had (there is true to that statement). We tried the grilled chicken, avocado, bacon sandwich, which was on point. Service is pretty on point and for how fresh the food was it came out fairly fast. It's crazy how powerful QR code can be these days.

The roost is a unique location! How it works is you basically sit anywhere you like. Scan your QR code, place and order from ANY of the restaurants located in the building and they bring it to wherever you're sitting. You can sit in the specific restaurants if you like, the bar, or in the more general areas. It's a cute dim setting. My only complaint would be that it can be kind of loud depending on where you sit. I like the back area behind the middle bar because it's quieter. The staff is very friendly. If you're going at night, there's a dedicated person bringing you water and if you need anything, like utensils, etc. Food wise, I've tried the sushi a couple times. Always a fresh and yummy experience. I tried the apple pie for the first time but I won't order it again unless I plan to take it home. It comes out cold and no ice cream (I took that personal haha). My fiancé enjoyed the burger. Drinks were great and fresh ingredients too! All together we ordered from a couple of different spots within the place, so that's a big plus if you have a taste for a couple of different things at once. I think they could add another type of restaurant for some additional food variety but I'm satisfied.
