I had a light dinner...green salad and curry puffs. The curry puffs melt in your mouth and the salad is almost too beautiful to eat! Excellent service...and speedy since I was on a dinner break from work. I'll definitely dine in again.

The food is good but there is only one lady to who serves both the restaurant and bars. She take the order, serves food and clean it. If you have ample time to waste go there, otherwise skip this restaurant. Also, if you take your car, don’t go there, first 30 minutes parking is free but you have to validate the ticket at the restaurant and that lady won’t tell you to do that. So, you will end up paying 25$ parking fees. In overall, this whole area isn’t worth.

I enjoyed my solo dining experience at Thai Pad. Thai Pad being just steps away from my hotel and a local subway line (Van Ness), I could not resist. After a full day of museum walking and sightseeing, I chose Thai Pad as a treat after a long day. That said, Pad Thai has a fantastic staff, and the authentic vibe of the restaurant was just what I needed after a long day. I enjoyed a small plate of veggies wrapped in an ultra-thin dumpling-like casing. The sauce they served with the veggie wrap was so delicious. I also wanted a tasty Thai dish with Shrimp. I highly recommend Thai Pad Restaurant solo or with the whole family.

Very delicious Thai food, some of the best in the area. I would recommend pretty much anything on the menu.

I've gotten takeout here a few times and it's a solid neighborhood spot! Things I've tried: Pad see ew (my comfort food, always good), Pad thai (hard to mess up!), Panang curry (love when I want something with rice), Spicy eggplant (probably my favorite thing I've ordered outside my go-tos, definitely recommend), Ka Prow Gai Kai Dao (don't remember feelings on this), Drunken Noodles (not my fave, but I'm also not a big fan of drunken noodles in general). Other stuff: Dumplings app (tasty, but I'd probably try something else), Mango and sticky rice dessert (my *only* disappointment here in 2+ years... mango was, sadly, not ripe and very crunchy... this is usually one of my favorite Thai desserts besides bua loy, so I will try again.) Price I almost always get tofu, occasionally chicken, so most entrees are $15. No hidden service charges. Also, they use a ChowNow so online prices are the same as everywhere else, and the platform itself doesn't charge a fee. You can tip through the platform or in cash at the register. I am going to try their $11 lunch special on a telework day!!! People I haven't dined in yet, but everyone has been so nice including the owners. This may be one of the reasons I keep going back so much. Spice Hypothesis I can't verify this, but I feel like "spice level: medium," is not actually saying "make this medium spicy" but rather "make this whatever level is normal for the dish, whether that's mild, medium, or hot." So if I want a mild dish medium, I'd probably request hot, and if I want a hot dish medium, I'd probably request mild. I like having one medium dish and one spicy dish, but having medium drunken noodles with hot panang curry is how I burned off my holy rosebud. I will nobly conduct further testing and report back.

Order 2 lunch orders, pad kra paw and pad see ew. Both are delicious. Thai custard was nice. The restaurant is very small, there are only 9 tables in total but the services were great and prompt.

It's a cute place in Van Ness with good and attentive service. Local family business I'll try to go almost every week. The food always comes out quickly and tastes wonderful.

This charming spot offers a delightful dining experience. I tried the Pad See Ew and it was truly exceptional, brimming with authentic flavors. I highly recommend it. Everything from the delicious food to the excellent service and the pleasant atmosphere contributed to a wonderful visit. The Thai tea was especially flavorful. All aspects of this restaurant not only met but surpassed my expectations.

Arrived around 11:30 a.m. on a Saturday. There was a menu posted on the outside window. Was greeted upon walking in. Placed a to-go order for two lunches. The lunches were ready in about ten minutes as promised. The Thai fried rice with chicken came with a few ingredients. The lemongrass chicken tasted good with vegetables on the side and a container of jasmine rice.

Some of the best Thai I've ever had! Their dishes have some incredibly deep complex flavors, and I always go back for the Khao Soi. Definitely recommend!

I ordered cashew chicken from Thai pad dc via Uber eats last night. What I received was dry pieces of breaded chicken skin no meat .. no sauce and a few random vegetables and very little cashews.I called the restaurant and spoke to a man who picked up the phone who told me that what I described was in fact how cashew chicken was made. I’ve had cashew chicken before at the restaurant and others and I’m offended that instead of acknowledging that I was given a meal of bad poor quality, I was told that crunchy chicken skin fried hard is what cashew chicken should be. I was offered no refund or credit but told that I should ask for it in the future to have more sauce ..I refused to eat is because crunchy fried pieces of chicken skin is NOT cashew chicken .. what I did taste was disgustingI immediately ordered cashew chicken from Lamoom Thai and what I received from them with no instruction from me was pieces of juicy chicken that was not breaded at all that was not chicken skin but pieces that were most similar to chicken breast in a light ginger sauce with sautéed vegetables

Favorite Thai spot in dc!!!! I’m obsessed with the curry puffs, they make the best ones in dc! Love their basil fried rice that’s what I usually get and their spring rolls. Very delicious! I was so shocked by how tasty the salad with Brussels sprouts was. I’ve never had a salad like it before and it’s probably my favorite thing on the menu.Vegetarian options: You can get the basil fried rice vegetarian and the vegetarian curry puffs are soooo delicious.
