I have heard good things about The Delegate but this was my first time attempting to visit the restaurant. I went around 9:30 on a Wednesday night. Waited for a hostess to come to the host stand for at least 20 minutes before I decided that standing right beside the host stand might grab someone's attention. That still took at least another 7 minutes before I was seated.Once seated, the server was summoned by the host. The staff was nice (bar staff, hostess and the 1 server I saw). Unfortunately, the server assisting me wasn't familiar with the current dining specials. I ordered the 2024 Spring Fling Special (Two glasses of wine, Two courses, One price--is how it's advertised). But, inevitably, after a few visits back and forth to my table, the server told me the manager on duty advised her that my meal (which is a designated special required to serve specific options) would include only one glass of wine as opposed to the advertised 2.It's a new special, and clearly effective communication is lacking between management and staff.Given the excessive wait, the timing, the "confusion" and misinformation, I opted to forego the meal at The Delegate and dine elsewhere. Which worked out more favorably for me in the end because I had a better customer experience and I saved a lot of money by doing so.This wasn't a horrible experience but, given that I ended up not dining, plus parking is hell in DC, it's not an experience that will encourage me to ever attempt to patronize this restaurant again.

2 bartenders repeatedly making eye contact but NOT checking on us. After 15 minutes I finally had to speak up and request our drinks.

Bartenders do not pay attention to customers. To busy shaking drinks trying to be fancy.

Six bartenders and not one came and said hi or asked if we needed anything. We sat at a high top after having to ask if we could sit anywhere, even a patron at the bar said the service is bad here. We should have left then. Sat and still no one came but many walked by us. We were 4 feet from the bar at a high top. There were 6 people sitting around the bar so it wasn’t busy and had to walk up and order food and drinks, then the bartender forgot our drinks. Once food arrived no one came and asked if we were good or needed anything else. Had to walk up to the bar to get our check and still no one came back to pick up the check. We paid the bill but did not leave a tip.

The food was great. Our appetizer didn't arrive before our entrees. We had to remind the waiter. Although the waiter said they were short staffed, I saw staff talking to each other and ignoring customers. Maybe your experience will be better?

The atmosphere was nice and my food was delicious (Cajun Pasta). The portion sizes were small, but that's ok.We received VERY POOR service from all bartenders, especially Karon. Karon was assigned to us. It took him 5 minutes to give us a menu b/c he chose to restock liquor bottles first. All other bartenders walked by us without handing us a menu. Thus, there is no teamwork! Karon was constantly on his cell phone!!! I asked for water. He never brought it. He made me a delicious margarita, but never asked if I wanted another one because he was very inattentive. We had to ask for the check multiple times even though he was standing in front of us at the register on his cell phone. He even made an excuse for being on his cell phone stating that he was trying to find information for us. I am very disappointed!

The hostess Ava went out of her way, multiple times during our stay, to help us in any way she could. We were a group of over 30 people, and she treated us so nice and was extremely friendly!

The wife pointed out how the shower had another woman's hair in it already. As Shaggy once said, "It wasn't me!"The food gave my wife bubble guts. The alcohol drinks were weak. Yeah, it is a hard pass for us, but others seem to like it. I wouldn't stop them from resting there if you need a place to stay.

The shrimp and grits meal was more delicious than expected. A good comfort meal after a long flight.

Name on open table starting as “milk & honey” was entirely misleading. The hostess did not seem happy when me and several other groups were asking about the name considering it's only a few items on the menu from milk & honey. Food was tasty but would've wanted to know if I was preparing to sit in a hotel lobby for a brunch at the wrong restaurant.

Ok hotel bar to sit and have a snack. Staff was super nice. Alcohol options are somewhat limited.
