“Looks like a dive bar. Clientele appears all local. We came on a Wednesday night where they have the steamed shrimp special. Place was packed. People filed in quickly ate and left knowing exactly what they were doing. Our server Nancy who is a nurse by profession during the day has been working there for 46 years! She has super powers! As we were trying to figure out the place she just appeared! Our drinks and orders came quickly. Beer on tap was chilled perfectly in a frosted mug and tasted fresh. The shrimp was fantastic the mahi bites tender and the Lima bean soup full of flavor. We even were lucky enough to get soft shelled crab. The strategic mistake we made was not to inquire about fresh oysters first as we were distracted by the shrimp special. We were already full by the time we found out. Next time! We didn’t even look at the menu.”
“I love this place!!! They make pots of proper loose leaf tea ☕️ served in real cups. I am so happy we found this place. The baked goods are delicious, the atmosphere is spot on and the owners could not be any more welcoming and nice. We will be back!”
“Sabatina’s in Delaware City offers an exceptional sandwich experience. From the moment you step in, you are treated like family. The highlight is their signature sandwiches, a perfect harmony of flavors and textures. Each bite is a revelation, with quality ingredients meticulously layered to create a culinary masterpiece. Whether you opt for their classic options or explore their creative combinations, Sabatina’s sandwiches never fail to impress. The friendly atmosphere and attentive service complement the delightful culinary journey. Sabatina’s unquestionably earns its reputation as the go-to destination for sandwich enthusiasts in Delaware and the tri-state area.”
“Absolutely the best gyro place I’ve ever had in my life. Middletown is not at all known for its food, most places around here now are chains and franchises. One thing they all have it common is the food is just blah. Delaware Gyro knows flavor, and it shows. Their food leaves me with a smile on my face everytime. Thank you for being amazing guys!”
“The empanadas/pastelitos are hearty, full flavored with an almost flakey crust that’s perfectly deep fried. When I say hearty, you get your money’s worth as these are packed with meat and not small in size!!! The pricing is on point and the service is great!!!An impressive spot in the heart of Salem!I highly recommend this gem of authentic Puerto Rican food that will have you wanting to return for more. I cannot wait to return to try more dishes!!!! This place came highly recommended, and my love for the food, I was skeptical but left highly impressed!!!!!!!! I cannot emphasize that enough. Are you going to Delaware? Take the time to swing through for brunch, lunch or dinner…and you’ll be back for another meal ;)”
“The Corner Grounds Cafe is exactly what this town needed! Everything from the selection of coffee and treats, to the friendly service and community atmosphere they have created is just perfection! Even their social media posts are expertly written. I'm so happy that we have this locally owned coffee shop here in our little town!”
“The Food is AMAZING! The way the aromatics and seasonings dance on your tongue, you can help but to want more. This food makes you feel good...like a warm hug from your mom on a cold day, just giving you a burst of energy to keep going.#Health is Wealth. I will definitely be coming back here!”
“Great atmosphere and selections of food trucks. Dawn is amazing and so are all the people who work there! Venue is perfect, and we looking forward to hanging out during the summer.”
“Food is very good. The owner is very nice, and they really clean their food well. I could go to any Chinese restaurant, closer to me, but the 20 minute trip, is well worth the drive.....”
“I want to thank you for saving the day with my cup cakes! I was unhappy to hear that my cup cakes I order from another baker had rainbow sprinkles on the cupcakes that were for a wedding. You guys fixed it and it was so convenient located near our venue! I appreciate you guys and I will keep this bakery on my mind for my next event! Thank you !”
“Right in the middle of high street Middletown is a prime spot to get an afternoon ice cream. This Häagen-Dazs shop is the perfect place to grab a treat with a friend or loved one. If you catch it the right time “right now” ? you can get that good pumpkin spice milkshake. It’s like drinking a pumpkin pie.”
“I haven’t tried their food yet. Just stopped by to meet friends for drinks after work. I loved the space and the service and attention was top notch. Will definitely be back.”
“I visited Jessop's on a recommendation from another beer connoisseur and was not disappointed. The draft beer list was excellent, mostly Belgian beers with a few UK, German, and American crafts thrown in. They have a full bar, and plenty of cider and wine offerings for anyone who may not like beer. My wife liked the bloody mary, which was nice and spicy. The bar is not that large, so try to time your visit or get a reservation for a dining table. New Castle has very few restaurants, so it can get busy, especially on a nice weekend. We did not eat here, so this review is strictly based on the beer selection and bar service- both of which were excellent. The ambiance is great, feels like stepping back in time. The bar is very social and the bartender Jess was very welcoming and friendly. If you like beer, make sure Jessup's Tavern is on your list to visit!”
“I was visiting the area from Illinois and this place is absolutely amazing!Do not just drive by, stop and get something. The food is great and the people are better.Edit- Bring cash, it is cash only!”
“Amazing food and reasonably priced. Eggs wear fluffy and cheesy. Grits weren’t my favorite but pancakes were amazing. Definitely going back to try other menu items.”
“A great little "off the beaten track" bar/restaurant that is also a blues music venue. One comes here to dine on good Cajun food and listen to good music. And you come to spend the evening, not to eat & scoot.”
“Probably the best Haitian food here. The owner has such a beautiful soul I know she cooks with love. I’d you’re passing thru or life here, def give it a try. Will not disappointHad the fried fish and fried chicken with diri kole very seasoned”
“As someone who loves dessert, I wanted to have something extra for our wedding. I also thought the idea of a food truck at a wedding was a lot of fun. I came across Gotta Lotta Gelata. My now-husband and I went to try some flavors with Petra and brought a few pints home, which disappeared pretty quickly. Having the Gotta Lotta Gelata truck come to our wedding was definitely a highlight. Everyone loved it and it helped make our wedding memorable. Petra is great to work with as well!”
“Overall good experience & will try again. Great service from the lady at the counter who took my order. She was patient & informative. The food was good but my only complaint is that you can't order the potato greens w/out meat. If you are a meat lover these greens are for you.My family really liked the pounded yams Egusi special with goat (just remembered lots of bones in this dish) First time trying fufu & it was ok but not my favorite item.”
“This is a great little strip mall restaurant that serves excellent Thai food.Good:Food: we had satay, pineapple curry chicken and shrimp pad Thai. All were flavorful and as good as we have had in both Bangkok and Ching Mai.Service: the young man who was our server was friendly, responsive and gave good recommendations. He maintained his good demeanor even though he was the only person out front - doing pickup order as well as managing the dining room.Bad:Ambience: the place is kind of dumpy. A coat of paint and better wall hangings would really helpLocation: hard to find. No sign. It is in-between a liquor store and a soon to open sushi place. Very close to the Sav-a-lot. They really should get a proper sign.Overall, 5-stars b/c they excel at what matters (food and service)”
“I met the owner and he seems like a down to earth good guy. He told me that I wouldn't be disappointed with the rib platters I ordered. Well the ribs were on point and I didn't need any sauce. Ribs were not par boiled and smoked very well. I will definitely be back and tell others about ”
“I am visiting here in Middletown Delaware and was looking for Frozen Yogurt. My grandson recommended Twisted. In California it's called Menchies. Love it ? big selections and lots of goodies to pile on top. Definitely worth a ”
“Food is delicious, served hot, with so much flavor. If you don’t like spicy hot, order it mild! The owner is so nice and accommodating, as well. Probably our favorite restaurant in Middletown!”
“Cute Irish pub on Main St in Middletown. The bar staff are amazing and entertaining. I have only tried the crab dip with pretzels so far but it's excellent.”
“We have frequent this place quite often. Tonight we wanted wings & fish. Never disappoints. I live in New York( Bklyn,) & visit my Sis. We normally hit this spot & Rita's next door.If u want great food check out this spot?”
“Warm and friendly environment. All the food is freshly prepared, home cooking with a flair. The baked goods are plentiful and delicious. I drive 2 hours to go to this hidden gem. Caleb brews the best latte, coffee and hot beverages so save room for a speciality drink and some dessert. Not feeling well? Talk to Kim, the owner and she can put together some teas to fix what ails you. They also cater and sell cookie trays. Their prices are incredibly low considering the fresh ingredients.”
“Good for dessert. The 3 Leche cake is amazing. The food selection is not the best but it's an ice cream place so what do you expect. Just order the treats and you will be ok.”
“Great place to come eat all kinds of halal fast food. You also have the option for desi delights(Biryani and kheer).Abu Bakr was a great host! We tried their chicken pizza and kheer which was really good. Overall great experience.”
“This is by far my favorite place for tacos! The Chorizo tacos are my favorite, spicy but not overpowering. So yummy, the younger girl that works there is always so sweet! & the guy with the spider tattoo on his elbow is also so nice!”
“Hey everyone, it’s Buried Edge, one of the many bands that play here at Gus’s Crab Shack, and we can’t wait to go back in 2024. Great food, great atmosphere and great people make this one of the best places we play. So check it out for yourself and we will see you on Friday night, February 23, 2024!”
