Attempted to visit for dinner at 9:30 after traveling all day on the train. I checked into the hotel. And immediately went to get dinner. I was told by Hotel Staff that the restaurant closed at 11pm. However all of the restaurant website information listed 10pm. Walking in at 9:30pm I asked to be seated and the hostes refused to serve me because the kitchen was closed and the restaurant closes at 10pm despite the restaurant full of people. They even refused to do takeout. The next morning I addressed the situation with hotel management. Their response was the usual apology and they will address the issue with the hostes because they have had the same issues numerous times before. This is even more troubling that they continue to employ someone with a track record of refusing to serve customers due to closing the restaurant well in advance of the advertised closing time.

Much better than your standard hotel restaurant. I had Glenlivet neat and my wife had white wine...both very good with generous pours. The wedge salad was fresh and perfectly put together and the shrimp was very tasty. The grilled chicken quesadilla was well seasoned and very flavorful. Onion rings were top shelf. The service was prompt and friendly. Overall, a great dining experience!

The Clerk at Doubletree Hilton Downtown Wilmington said the Cafe was closed. Cafe is inside the hotel. Found that out the hard way and suggested an update on Google Maps.

This hotel is ugly. Very rough interior. The shower was either 120 or 50 degrees, nothing in between, so you either got scalded or frozen. The fixtures were broken and overall the hotel was dirty. The man at check-in made sure to emphasize all of the amenities in the hotel that were closed due to COVID-19; kind of like rubbing salt in the wound. No cookie, likely due to COVID. Hilton should be ashamed of this place.

Metro Cafe is a very standard in-hotel restaurant. Food and drinks are on par with what you'd find at Chilies or a similar type of restaurant with bar and TV. Service was very friendly and accommodating, and that's always appreciated when traveling for work.My main complaint would be the building and decore. The layout is awkward, bathrooms are by the pool, the building runs cold, and the worn-down decor is in desperate need of updating. Otherwise, it really is an A-OK place to grab a bit of dinner and a drink before calling it a night.

Lots of homeless people staying here. It's used as overflow for a shelter nearby. Rooms smelled, never felt safe, locks in room sawed off (yes literally, and an entire floor smelled like weed for a week. Heard many people barking and screaming at themselves. It was a nightmare and front desk staff didn't acknowledge the issues. Food in restaurant was all microwaved and gross.

This renovated hotel, rebranded several times, is not deluxe, but is comfortable and convenient to downtown Wilmington. Mostly business clientele during the week so the rooms are well equipped in terms of wifi, connections, and other first world tech amenities. Main drawback over a one night stay were walls that were not quite soundproof; mild noise from adjoining rooms was audible. Gains points for the staff-- knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. One young man went way above normal good service by letting me use his personal IPhone charger-- can never seem to remember to pack one. Parking is an extra $16 per day. Breakfast, included, was very good.

I found this hotel to be so much better than many reviews suggest. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. It is a very "old fashioned" city hotel - it is nothing like the special-built modern Doubletree properties, so there is probably a big perception gap. My room was completely updated (carpet, walls, art, furniture) and large. Bathroom also nicely updated. The executive lounge is small, does have free wine & beer at happy hour, and a light breakfast that does include eggs/bacon. This is not a pleasant place to unwind, but rather grab water/sodas/minor snacks. Located a few short blocks from many restaurants, always a plus.

Not the best, but not the worst hotel I've experienced. Rooms are large and pretty updated with a large tv and decent sized fridge. Coffee machine and ice bucket, but no microwave. Bathrooms are TINY, not to mention the used bar of soap in the shower. I also made sure to grab a clean towel when I washed my face, however, after drying off I noticed a couple tan stains that looked like foundation on the towel (I was not wearing any makeup). We did not have to pay breakfast as we received the coupons for a free breakfast buffet, although the breakfast consisted of plain cereals, mini muffins, fruit, scrambled eggs, home fries, and over cooked sausages. Also, upon opening my silverware there were yellow and dark grey splotches on the white cloth napkin. I did not enjoy the breakfast. Also, when my family and I wanted to go to the hotels restaurant, we were unsure of whether we seated ourselves or had to wait, when my mom asked the woman working, she didn't respond and just when behind the bar counter. Front desk was very nice though.

It's a nice hotel, but we were sent here by the Aston Tournament people and there's no walking around to get to anywhere. They charge $16/day for parking, they charge for breakfast. Our room was nice, but for the extra fees I'd rather use that money and stay somewhere else. The rooms by the pool smelled like chlorine, don't use those. Bed was comfortable. No washer and dryer, and you can't go down the road to find one, frig but no microwave in rooms. Sorry, but keep your cookie on this one, I won't be back.

I was hoping to catch a quick meal before returning to a meeting. The meal was very good, visually appealing and reasonably priced. The service was a bit slow and there were very few customers. Not sure what the delay was; it was not the fault of the server.

Updating my review because I recently stayed here again and wasn't super impressed. The bad: -The room I stayed in doesn't seem to be updated. They seemed to be updating rooms when I last reviewed, but either the upgrade isn't what I remembered or this particular room (516) deteriorated quickly. There are stains everywhere, some seem pretty gross but also basic. -No channel guide -Reduced room service menu. My last review mentions my room service, and the current menu doesn't offer anything I'd order, so it must have changed. -I had to ask for my water & cookie. I'm a silver member, so my impression is that I get 2 bottles of water. And everyone is supposed to get a cookie? The good: -I appreciate the front desk mentioning that parking is cheaper to pay for through the parking company if you're not going in & out. That was nice. -Plenty of outlets, including USB ports near the bed!

I stayed here recently on a business trip, so everything was paid for by the corporation I work for. I stayed for 5 nights. You get a pretty delicious cookie upon check-in. My room was clean and I did not have any issues with bugs, however, the wallpaper was peeling off and the mattress was pretty sunken in. My room was also next to the elevator, and it's very loud. It did get a little hot during the night sometimes because the air conditioning would randomly shut off and then turn on again. Lots of USB ports in the rooms and a good selection of TV channels. The free breakfast is pretty good. They have an omelette station, sausage, french toast, cereal, muffins, etc. The hotel bar was okay too, the food at the bar (wings) were very good. The bartender does disappear for a while sometimes, but she's nice. Nothing was spectacular, but everything was acceptable. The hotel is okay and I'd stay here again.
