The customer service here is always excellent! The avocado toast is good but I prefer it without the truffle oil. Their pastries and such are solid. I usually drink tea and the only thing that could be improved is more tea selections, like a jasmine tea or traditional green tea. They have honey ginseng green tea which is pretty good but would really like some other options as well as this would not be a go to.

Tremendous food and coffee. They’ve got breakfast sandwiches and doughnuts at certain times. Plenty of space to sit and enjoy. Only complaint is they have iced coffee but no cold brew.

I found Sleeping Bird on my way a client meeting in the area. The high ceilings, cool music, and comfy chairs gave a great spot to prep for the meeting. I'm very simple in my coffee tastes, so it was an Americano for me, brewed perfectly. The list of featured brews was extensive and based on the traffic they must be damn good. I also enjoyed their avocado toast - which was savory. So many times places just drown the toast in balance and micro greens! I also noticed a host of bakery items on the counter that seemed to be going like hot cakes. All in all, a great find.

I’m sad because people hype these cinnamon rolls up and what I’ve had was a dry, bready cinnamon roll with icing (which was honestly the best part but what isn’t there to love about any icing). Whenever I eat cinnamon rolls I want them to be soft inside, almost a little chewy and gooey. And with how dry the cinnamon roll was, there wasn’t enough frosting. Now, the cinnamon roll was pretty below average.. however the coffee - especially for a coffee shop - was pretty awful unfortunately.. my mocha tasted like straight up milk with a hint of bitterness and my husbands americano tasted like lobby coffee.. sad because the coffee shop has amazing coffee equipment but it doesn’t even matter.. sadly we won’t be back, however that one extra star we left is because this coffee shop is located next to our favorite pizza place and our favorite brewery.

This place rules. The coffee is always delicious, with a rotating selection of seasonal flavors made in house as well as several non-dairy milk options. Some of the flavors are what you might expect, and some are really unusual and special, with fruits, spices, herbs, and sometimes glitter making an appearance on the menu. Whatever you get to drink, it will be delicious. The baked goods are unreal. They are probably best known for their cinnamon buns and doughnuts, which are always excellent but are only available on certain days and only in limited quantities, so be sure to follow them on Instagram and check before you head over, because they will fly out of the cases. However, there's always something else delicious to try. The maple biscuits are a staple, and they are legendary, flaky and sweet and just the right amount of finger-licking sticky on top. There is usually a sweet and a savory flavor of scone, and every variety I've tried has been incredible. I've also had some unbelievable slices of cake here - rosemary olive oil cake and apple butter cake were two particularly memorable ones, but you can't go wrong with anything that comes out of the Sleeping Bird kitchen. There are also bagels, sandwiches, and salads, and there are some vegan and gluten-free menu options. The store itself is beautiful inside. The decor is bold and eye-catching, with lots of plants, bird knickknacks, and possibly the most beautiful wallpaper I've seen in a coffeeshop. There are several tables, cozy chairs, and a large and clean bathroom. These are all reason enough to come to Sleeping Bird, but if you need another, that would be the staff. The owners are friendly and dedicated to creating awesome food and a good ambiance. All of the employees and friendly, knowledgable, and skilled at what they do. This is a self proclaimed safe space for the queer community, which is so important and needed. From the owners to the employees to the customers, this is a store where it feels like everyone actually wants to be there and cares about having a nice, chill time.
One of my favorite places for sure! Everything is delicious, pastries are 10/10! Great service.

Far and away the best coffee shop in Delaware! They make their own latte flavors (no big containers of syrups with artificial flavoring), have scratch-made pastries that change daily, and delicious breakfast sandwiches (and lunch sandwiches too!).This place is also super kid-friendly. They have a bookshelf with kids books, coloring books and crayons, and a few simple toys.Sleeping Bird is our favorite place!

Delaware is stressful but this place makes it all worth it. 10/10 would get stressed out by the turning lanes again.
