“Papa Llama, 2840 Curry Ford Road, Orlando- 4-Stars Michelin Recommended- Bib Gourmand! Peruvian immigrants, Kevin and Maria Ruiz, say they founded Papa Llama in 2016 as an experimental pop up and opened the doors of this location in August 2020. In 2022, they earned the Michelin Guide's coveted "Bib Gourmand" award for establishments that serve good food at reasonable prices so naturally, I got excited. Paulina, my server, was well prepared and knowledgeable, making for an auspicious beginning in a gorgeous environment featuring good prices for dishes that could be made to satisfy both carnivores and herbivores alike. I ordered the entire family style menu which was, according to Papa Llama, "designed to be tasted together, shared, and fought over." So much food for just over a hundred dollars. The prices may have been cheap but the taste and quality of (most) victuals valieron un Perú! A hearty Big Boy Thank You (Sulpayki!) to Kevin and Maria and the culinary dactylograms of their ancestors, on this amazing cuisine (Somaq Mihuna!). The first item on the menu was Olives--whole green Castelvetrano olives marinated in house with aji panca--which were so delectable I could eat them all day. Next, the Red + Gold Beets, a minty beet salad with honey ají amarillo vinaigrette, queso fresco, and candied pistachio, which started out smooth and creamy and ended with a pleasantly piquant bite. Papas a la Huancaína followed, a fingerling potato dish with spicy aji amarillo cream, wakatay (black mint) salsa verde, and beef chicharron, topped with a fried egg. The potatoes themselves were not the star, but the combination of flavors in the sauce were amazing, unctuous but smooth. Papa Llama carries a long list of natural wines, more wines than food items, actually. That evening, I chose the Yuzu Sake, and may I say, "Holy smokes!" How refreshing after consuming so many peppers. The rest of the dishes I would give 4.5 to 5-Stars, EXCEPT for the side of frozen Sysco French fries which almost ruined an otherwise stellar meal. There are over 300 kinds of potatoes in Peru. Over 300! Perhaps in the United States we don't have the same abundance as found in El Valle Sagrado (the Sacred Valley) but, por favor, do not stoop to this! The Big Boy says, "Eat here. All the authentic Peruvian flavors at Papa Llama are 5-Star, but skip the fries, which are a corporate conglomerate frozen food disappointment."“

“Scoping out Chayote for a possible birthday dinner. Came in early for happy hour at the bar. Katie, our server, was excellent! The tuna tartare was phenomenal, so much so we ordered a second. Super bright and great texture on a crispy tostone. Loved how thin the cracker was but it held its shape after one night. These were better than many tuna dishes we have had a sushi bars. The shrimp croquettes were nice and creamy inside the crispy shell. Loved the vegan soup for several reasons. It reminded my hubby of the beef barley soup (but this is a vegan dish) his mom made when he was a little. The crispy yuca threads reminded us of our favorite Chinese dish Seafood pan fried noodles, the gave texture to the dish along with the cubes of veggies. There are a few other dishes I'd like to try but the entree prices are out of range. Going at happy hour gave us a nice intro to Chayote.“

“I don't live in Orlando but almost every time I'm in the area I come into the establishment. Why? Because from my very first visit and every subsequent visit the service has been amazing. I can't see them changing the way they serve a single person as I read a complaint on a review but all others are treated as valued customers. Jaz Tro continue to serve with love and dedication to what you do. I love your place.“

“As vegetarians, we have found it to be challenging to find strictly vegetarian/vegan eateries in the Orlando area but we never stop trying and it sure paid off! While doing a search on Happy Cow we discovered Earthy Picks and were delighted to try! It exceeded our expectations! The tacos are amazing and I devoured them! Our granddaughter enjoyed a berry smoothie and my hubs had a variety of bowl with a little bit of everything! We met the owner and her heart and soul is poured into this immaculate and inviting restaurant! Run! Don’t walk to get there! A wonderful new and much needed addition to the community!“

“As I was on my way to the Fiesta Mexico Food truck to grab some street tacos, I noticed yellow lawn signs advertising Street Tacos, which led me to Queso Loco. This restaurant had great reviews and offered a unique experience where I could choose a variety of options a la carte. I decided to try the Al Pastor, Steak, and Birria tacos and ordered a Michelada to drink. Although the presentation of all the tacos with fresh garnishes was appetizing, I found the texture and flavor of the Al Pastor and Steak to be a little underwhelming. The Al Pastor meat was dry and lacked juiciness, and the Steak was slightly over-seasoned with salt. However, the Birria taco was the best of the three, with a good amount of juicy pork. The Michelada was the highlight of the meal, with a generous amount of tamarind candy on the rim. Although I could have done without the cucumber chunks, it was still a good addition. The $9 price for the Michelada was a great deal for a non-happy hour price. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Queso Loco, but I do feel that the texture and flavor of the Al Pastor and Steak could use some improvement. The Birria taco and Michelada were excellent, and I would recommend trying them to see if you might like other items on their menu.“

“Google searched best food in Sanford and this was one of them to come up. So glad we stopped in, Jay greeted us at the counter with a warm smile and let us know the specials for the day. Hubby went with the ropa vieja with white rice and red beans (one of the specials) and I went with pernil and arroz con gandules. Both came with 2 sides & both dishes were absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back!!!“

“I first heard about Corcante from a Netflix show called "Somebody Feed Phil," and I immediately said if I visit Orlando, we're going there. So we did! My wife and I flew from NY to FL for our anniversary and visited the restaurant one night. The atmosphere of the place is modern, clean , and sophisticated. The service was great, and they were very kind. **It's a spanish restaurant, so if you don't understand spanish, no worries, just tell them.**They have a nice sized menu, so we had a hard time deciding what to order, so we asked our server what he recommended. So we ordered Chicharrón w/ guacamole to start ? ? ? ? ?.For our meal, we ordered Mofongo w/ skirt steak and chimichuri and a Pastelón Burger ? ? ? ? ?For dessert, we order bread pudding w/ ice cream and 2 café con leches. ? ? ? ? ?If you're in the Orlando area, I recommend that you check out Crocante Restaurant!Kid-friendliness: When I visited, there were 2 families sitting down with their kids having a great time.“

“I mean it's Mexican type food. I'm not good at being critique on Mexican food, I rarely eat this.It was tasty, and they seem to be quite busy, that's a good sign. The interior IMO has pretty colors, including the chairs and tables. I have not seen so much art in a restaurant. It's nice just to admire that. From what I gather they have all types of Mexican origin snacks like coconut sweet toffee and peanut brittle. They also have a butcher store and a small grocery store inside the restaurant.Several income streams for the owners.“

“This place is great. My first date with my wife was at a Salvadoran restaurant for pupusas, but this is our new spot for pupusas. I'm a chef and come from a mixed background of Filipino, American and African-American cultures. So, I love exploring new cuisines and so does my wife. We have had food here numerous times and all of the food we have tried is great.“

“I make breakfast burritos/tacos almost every morning so I'm hard to please when it's something I can make. The Breakfast burrito is amazing. There was a good amount of bacon, delicious gooey white cheese with eggs and tasty flavored tortillas. the flavors were excellent and the price was worth it! (I normally feel like food trucks are overpriced). The lady didn't speak English but we managed with a menu and I'll definitely be coming back. It's a food truck at a gas station so don't expect much on atmosphere (unless you know like me some of the best food comes from a food truck at a gas station) but there was parking and a table to wait for food.Sorry no photos because I ate before I could get a picture.“

“Pig Floyd's Urban Barbacoa- This evening we are eating here for date night. We sat down and in about five minutes our food was delivered to our table. The service here is super quick and the food is absolutely yummy. For my meal I got the brisket platter with two sides of a baked beans. The baked beans as always slap. The brisket is so juicy and so moist it melts in your mouth. My sauce of choice this time is the hot barbecue it has a nice sweetness and a little bit of thing at the finish. The brisket and hot barbecue sauce to the wind is out of this world! I definitely recommend here! It's right off of mills on the left hand side of the street. Pick is right across the street from Pop Thai and poor choice tap-house. 10/10“

“I’ve been wanting to try this cafe for a while now, so I stopped in today and got a breakfast sandwhich with eggs, bacon, and cheese. It was delicious, and the size was much larger than I was expecting. The bacon was perfectly crispy and the egg tasted really fresh. I will definitely be coming “

“Food, and service was amazing, very welcoming, helpful to choose food. The only thing I would suggest is for them to not put so much salt in the food. The Pernil was amazing but too salty. If they fix that it's a win win. Thank you for great food and great service ? ? see you soon.“

“Quick, fast service. I got ropa Vieja, rice ? and black beans with plantains. So yummy ? I also got a Cuban coffee ☕️ delish. I’m a little upset ? everything was 15$ for lunch at 12 but season to everything was on point. I couldn’t make this my everyday place because it’s to expensive and bowl could have been filled more.“

“I came in with my friend who raves that this is one of his favorite food spots in Orlando and I can see why! Good food where you can taste the love and great service! I had the pork sandwich and I love the contrast of the savory pork and sweetness of the plantains! YUM I also have a big sweet tooth so the tres leches cake was super moist and nice hints of cinnamon. Very homey vibes from the food to the decor!“
