Nice people and good food. Rarely in Gainesville and got to try this place on their last day. Best pork sandwich I've ever had. Wish them all the best

Definitely will not be going back. The brisket was over cooked and to tough to chew, beef jerky has more tenderness. The texas toast was greasy, fries were soggy, mac n cheese was terrible. Not to mention it took over 30 minuets after ordering just to get this so called food out.

At about 1 - 1:30 pm there was one other person in the dining room, which should have been a clue. The good: baked beans and collard greens where actually very good. The absolutely barely inedible: super greasy, almost all fat and hard as leather brisket. Absolutely, the worst bbq I've ever had and probably ever will since I won't be back. This couldn't have been a simple oversight by the cook since he/she could not have been busy at all, to look down on the plate which was made up mostly fat. The woman at the counter was fairly nice though and she did bring out a bit more of the leathery "brisket" for me to chew on.

Like others, I'm sorry to write a low review of a local place but it's just the truth. I ordered brisket, mac and cheese, and beans. The included garlic bread was greasy but fine, and I did like the baked beans. Just the right amount of tangy and sweet. But the brisket was dry as could be, more like unseasoned beef jerky. It tasted as if they sliced it hours ago and it sat in a warmer. The Mac and cheese was disappointing. Pasta was over cooked and broken apart to where I could hardly tell the original pasta shape. Too salty and the color was unappetizing. They need to improve some of their processes and recipes.

Drove all the way here for it to be closed at 6pm on a Wednesday :(Tried again and they were closing, shame the name is bbq, it should be billy bobz breakfast with a chance of bbq.

Love this spot. It is nothing fancy but the prices are reasonable and the breakfast meals are wonderful. I have not had there BBQ lunches so this is only on breakfast items. The dining area is kept very clean. The breakfast is not the glamour new wave kind of meal that so many places are doing. They have normal syrup, I prefer maple syrup but this is better then the spiced up syrup I’ve been served recently, real eggs not out of a carton, bacon and sausage from a pig not a plant. If you like grits, they are cooked perfect and don’t have any feta or Gouda cheese. They will add cheese but it’s just good ole cheddar cheese or American. This is food that would come out of my kitchen.I love the pancakes, I do not know if it’s a box mix or thrown together with all the necessary ingredients but they are delicious. They do not have a wait staff, I have only had issues with one and it wasn’t just me. He got the orders mixed up between 3 of us and two of us returned at the same time. He wasn’t the quickest thinker but he was extremely kind as they all have been and I have met the cook once and he seems to be a big kind teddy bear. I have learned that I must check the order before leaving. Was missing the biscuits today for my sausage gravy but it was still good food. This is the place for a good breakfast and much less costly

Been a long time since I've thrown out a whole meal. The brisket was so tough I couldn't chew it, the sweet potato fries were overcooked and the macaroni and cheese ?I guess the sauce and the service were good.

Came in early and everything was over cooked. Ribs were chewy and tasted like bacon, chicken was at par with average, brisket was hard and chewy like plastic, with hard fatcap still on the meat. Mac and cheese was soupy, burger was dollar store precooked meat, fries were cooked with very old grease.

Been there, done that, will never do it again. Food's just not good. Overcooked, fatty and tough to chew.

I was really looking forward to these sweet potato fries, but they were so overcooked. :( Same with the regular fries we ordered.

Wish I had taken a picture of my sliced brisket sandwich. It was 90% pure fat. Gf had the catfish and it was terrible. Will never return.

The breakfast menu is pretty good, haven't had the bbq yet. Probably one of the best deals for a breakfast item in town: $2 breakfast burrito ($2.50 with bacon, sausage or ham) with a pretty quick service time. It's not big but it's good and filling, just eggs, cheese, meat, flour tortilla! I like to add some of the BBQ sauces to set it off. Located in the plaza next door to Ward's, easy to miss. Don't miss it! Hardly anybody else in the place, mostly I see contractors grabbing breakfast here or taking lunch. It's the least pretentious spot in town, what you see is what you get!

This place is the hidden gem of BBQ in Gainesville! It's literally never busy but so delish! Everything is so awesome!
