“The tacos are definitely their speciality. The guacamole is the blandest I’ve ever had. It had so many onions in it and there was no flavor except onion. Save the $20 and get a nice dessert of something instead. It’s very busy inside and not for someone looking for a quiet bite to eat.“

“Great time here listening to some young upbeat Jazz bands . Wish they had a few simple signature cocktails to choose from which would be very easy to create . I found out about this event in GNV word of mouth . Where do you usually post events ?“

“I’ll be honest: sometimes I assume hotel restaurants and bars are going to be more like dives and not necessarily that good. So when my husband wanted to go to The Comeback, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect. I am SO happy we went!

You literally walk right through the beautiful hotel lobby, and then you find this really nice restaurant and bar. There’s seating throughout, and there was even more seating on the other side where a bunch of gentlemen were watching the game, so I didn’t want to interrupt their game-day time.

Our waitress was absolutely fantastic, too!

We started with the $6 cheesy tots, and they were really good! They were nice and crispy, cooked perfectly, with plenty of melty cheese. Whatever that sauce was on top was REALLY good, too!

For my meal, I got the turkey club with fries, and WOW! This sandwich was massive! I could only eat half, so I actually brought the other half home for my teenager. The portions here are definitely generous. Plenty of meat too! Sometimes inflation hits meals, but not here!

We also tried the onion rings, and I really, really liked them. They were crispy and crunchy on the outside without that gross, soggy texture you sometimes get with onion rings. They were cooked really well and had a great crunch.

They also had beer specials, which I thought was awesome. And considering it’s free to watch the game here, there weren’t a ton of people there, so there was no waiting around or fighting for a seat. There are literally what feels like a million TVs, so you can easily find a spot to watch the game.

The inside is beautiful and has a really sophisticated feel. I also loved the little UF Gator touches and all the fun decorations throughout the restaurant.

So if you’re questioning whether you should go in here, especially on game day, JUST GO! We had a really, really good time, the food was great, the portions were generous, and the service was fantastic.

The staff paid attention to the room, clearing our finished food and empty drinks and keeping the space tidy while giving us room to enjoy ourselves. That care helped us feel relaxed throughout the visit. The bartenders were welcoming, and we enjoyed spending time at the pool tables.“

“We went late on Sunday night to enjoy happy hour and half priced games and had a great experience. We were quickly seated and our server had great energy that really helped set the tone for a fun night. We started with a chicken quesadilla which was delicious and packed with huge chicken chunks. For my meal I ordered the eat and play combo wings and they were terrific. They were crispy underneath and the sauce was sweet and very flavorful. We also enjoyed happy hour beer, although I did not realize it was domestic beer only so my Modelo did not qualify, which was a small surprise. We did an hour of free game play and there was a really good variety of games, especially for a group of three. The game room had a large selection and everything felt well maintained. All of the staff we interacted with were pleasant and friendly. Overall we were really impressed with how much they offer, including catering and large event options. We will definitely be back again.“

“Mother’s is a staple bar in Gainesville. The food is homemade and always affordable. The staff are accommodating, friendly, and personable. It is always a fun and safe atmosphere. There is always entertainment of some sort. Management tolerates zero shenanigans and yet will still go out of their way to make you happy.“

“Victoria was absolutely amazing! From the moment we sat down, she was friendly, welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed. She was attentive throughout the entire meal without ever making us feel rushed, kept our drinks filled, checked on our food, and made sure everything came out exactly how we wanted it.

What really stood out was her attitude. Victoria was genuinely kind, upbeat, and easy to talk to. You can tell she actually cares about giving her customers a great experience rather than just going through the motions. Even while she was busy, she still made time to check on us and never made us feel forgotten.

The food was great, but Victoria’s service is what made the experience a 5-star visit. Applebee’s is lucky to have her. We’ll definitely be coming back and asking for Victoria again!“

We never received silverware or plates, and our table was completely skipped for water and the drinks we ordered.
