It's pretty expensive for deep fried food, but I love the atmosphere of this place, tho it's lost most it's atmosphere after loosing Willy. ?Brought an elderly lady friend there for her last trip before she moves north to be near family.

This little place is amazing the service was super. The pork chops was probably the best piece of meat I have ever eaten at a restaurant in my life. I do bbq myself and they grilled it to perfection. Must go 10 out of 10.

Disappointed in The Yearling.Food -Their coleslaw tasted like KFC.The croutons on my salad were down right nasty.I ordered fish, which was very good but it was not cooked as ordered.Gator appetizer was really good and the venison was also very good.Chocolate cake for dessert seemed to be a few days old.Very nice atmosphere in the restaurant, but the men's room smelled like piss.Yikes....

Food was very good. However, it's expensive, and took an hour and 15min before the appetizer was even brought to the table. Then food came 15min later. We were one of the first people seated when the restaurant opened and ordered right away. Then the server came back to the table 53min later to tell us they were out of one of the entrees we ordered, and then were also out of onion rings. It would be nice if they had brought cornbread muffins or biscuits during the wait.

An interesting, unselfconsciously nostalgic relic of 20th century Cracker Florida, but I got one single (!) hush puppy with my dinner. Can you imagine? And that one single hush puppy was burnt charcoal black. I prefer golden brown. I never heard of serving one single hush puppy. Ever. Hushpuppies are ALWAYS plural, coming in twos or threes. It would be like serving a single French fry and calling it French fries. The food quality is nothing special. After I finished I thought, I'll just go to Long John Silver next time, 'cause one visit here is sufficient. Sadly, this establishment borders on tourist trap. Expect food served without pride or passion, but decent service.

A real experience with darn good food. Not for everyone (no white tablecloths) but a taste of swamp life for those looking for something different.
We ate here when obviously our server and the kitchen where somewhere out in space or had a bad day.None of our orders came out right. Grilled instead of fried, ordered coleslaw , my order was supposed to come with onion and pickles, none came wit it. My husband’s hamburger was ordered medium came out completely overcooked and the fries he ordered crisp where completely limp.We got new fries and my coleslaw. Would not go back. The whole building looks dilapidated

Our first experience here today was just average. The first things we noticed were that the restaurant sign and entrance needs cleaned up. We were pleasantly greeted and given our choice of where to sit. The wildlife and book displays were plentiful. There was a man playing soft music in the library, which is where we sat. Even though it was not busy, the service was very slow. At least our waitress was very nice. We ordered the Gator appetizer and it was not very good, tasteless and chewy. After more than 45 minutes our meals finally arrived. I had the Seafood combination. It was overdone to an almost tough texture. The coleslaw was flavorless but the hushpuppy, yes only one, was very good. My husband had the Venison with sauce and baked potato. His meal was very good. If we do go back there again, we'll both get the Venison meal.

I had high expectations for this restaurant but was very disappointed in the food..very bland, high priced and not a good plate presentation. The shrimp on the shrimp and grits were tough and over cooked. The collards were tough and the okra and tomatoes well lets not go there.Thw best thing about the whole meal was the orange pie.But our waitress was kind enough to let us set there for hours visiting with my Aunt and Cousin. This place is highly overrated.Been here ,done that

Go back in time when you walk through the doors, great memorabilia, pictures to view and buy in their gift shop. Had the catfish sandwich for lunch, tender and the spices were perfect.
