This was my second time going to Ginger Bay and my experience was much better. The first time I went was during Covid n it wasn’t that great. Our waitress was pleasant, helpful and ensured we had a good time. The food was tasty omgeee it was delicious. Pretty much every one got the fish that was brown stew, fried and I had the steamed fish which was well seasoned and cooked. I had it with rice and peas with veggies but the festivals were also a hit. Now the food was pretty damn good but the highlight of the night was the music! By 9/10pm the place was ram packed and boy were we jamming. The music selections were great and bc the singer/live band was out of this world. He sang oldies but goodies, he was clear to understand, no cussing amazing voice and he gave my friend a birthday shoutout. Thank you. ?? Glad I came back for another good time.

on 10/13/23 the bartender was really rude with an attidude and seemed very irritated and I think it was because I only tipped her 10 dollars but i only ordered two drinks and they charged me gratuity so I dont owe her nothing. I will not be back because of her.

I went there today with family, to have a nice dinner. I was shocked and disgusted, because the place was clearly roach infested this evening! One person in my group encountered a roach in her drink while sitting outside. We debated what to do next, but decided to go inside for dinner.Upon lifting and opening the cloth napkins surrounding the cutlery, out came the roaches!! We went running out the door! We will not be returning to this establishment that we have enjoyed in the past. Also, it appears that roof and toilet repairs were going on. A huge ladder was still set up in the restroom!Never again.

I’m a local that has tried every restaurant in this location and have been living in this circle for almost 8 years. I’m a cultured woman and this is one of the only restaurants that’s Jamaican that is in the area. This place is known for its “authentic” Jamaican atmosphere, live entertainment and food. There is indoor and outdoor seating they also have a bar that you can dine at also it’s clean and maintained. I’ve been coming here for years but have only ordered because the SERVICE IS DISGUSTING so it’s been a while since I’ve dined in.On the answering service they say they serve food until 2am it’s a Friday, we got there at 12:30a so we thought we were safe. After working for almost 13 hrs of taking care of people, I was craving some “home cuisine” and so my partner and I decided to stop in quick, maybe grab a drink at the bar but we only wanted to order some food to go home and eat.We rushed through the rain and got to the restaurant, we knew it was a slow Friday night because it was mostly empty. So we knew we just wanted food to go. As I got inside and sat at the bar, the bartender came out and gave me the ugliest look as if I was bothering her. I was so shocked I said “sorry, just checking in to see if your kitchen is still open”. Another staff came beside her and they both started staring at me as if to say “why are you here?” I said again “are you still serving food” she shook her head no and gave me the MOST unwelcoming look. Does she think this is service? I said to myself. I didn’t tell her to work here. I worked in hospitality for 7 years hosting/ bartending and serving at many restaurants. I would never wanted to be treated like this. She could have said kindly “no mam we are closing” would have been fine. But her entire body language was negative towards me’ be so negative to where idk if I’d wana . If you are looking to come here, the music is great, the food is okay but please don’t come for the SERVICE it’s now TERRIBLE and very unwelcoming.

Walk in and attempt to get a drink. The manager and staff asked me if I was there to use the bathroom. I said I came for some good food that was advertised. The cold welcome made me change my mind, and I went across the street to twinpeaks and spent my money.

Went there last night.(Saturday) .parking is horrible ..ladies wear comfortable shoes bc you may have to walk ..10 Dollar entry after 11 ..they have a ATM right at the door. Bartender that served me wasn’t pleasant..seemed irritated. Drinks were pricey and weak. Loved the band. Wish the place was a little bigger ..it gets cramped very fast. The food was ok kind of skimpy for the price. I got the curry shrimp with white rice and veggies. I went to the restroom and was startled ..a male employee (I hope he was) came into the ladies restroom and asked me to flush the toilet to see if it was leaking.. I couldn’t believe it! Who does that? I didn’t feel safe. I may not return.Parking: Horrible parking good luck

Ginger bay has been a staple in the community for many years. Visited while I was in town and loved the experience. I had brown stewed tofu, that was delicious and flavorful. I also had pepper shrimp, and that was delightful as well. There was live music during my visit, and the band was amazing. There were lots of couples around and they all danced to the sweet sounds of the music. Overall, I would recommend and look forward to visiting again.

Didn’t too much enjoy my food. The Alfredo was a little on the sweet side and greasy, the fish didn’t have any flavor. Service was ok, band was great!

Tonight was very quiet as far as a crowd goes. But still had a nice vibe. The young lady at the bar was very friendly and helpful in recommending local attractions we were interested in. The apple martini was on point and the food delicious. The oxtail peas and rice were cooked to perfection and the Buffalo wings were excellent.
