“Let me start by saying this is some seriously good food. Don’t pass by Rufus ribs without stopping!! This husband and wife duo are the sweetest thing, you can tell all their food was made with love. Rufus was out on the smoker, while his wife took orders and prepared the food. The food is home cooked every day and boy was it good. I got the chicken and rib dinner 10/10. The collard greens and cornbread were equally as excellent. They make sure to give you plenty of sauce too which I love!! If you’re passing by or just haven’t been here yet, you need to go!“
“It's a small little restaurant but if you like home cook food made fast with good friendly couple you should head there. The prices is not that bad especially as much food they come with the meals. Mom and I always share and still have leftovers for later but make sure you check out when their open and how late on those days.Also we haven't got a bad meal yet but hadn't got to try their breakfast yet.“
“I had dinner at Fat Boy's recently and noticed the prices have increased quite a bit. I was disappointed in the amount of food for the price. The BBQ pork was very fatty without much meat and the portions of beans and coleslaw were tiny. The food tasted good but not much for the price. Our waitress has been working there for a long time and the service she provided was excellent.“
“Let me start out by saying that I have eaten at almost every bbq establishment on the eastern seaboard, and woodys BBQ is the singularity in the matrix.I was sitting at my desk in my soul sucking 9-5 position as a hedge fund manager in NYC, clearing north of $300k annually, I was ignoring my secretary talking and was mindlessly scrolling tiktok when suddenly a food review page popped up, and there it was Woody’s BBQ in lake Wales, Florida. I told my boss I was going to lunch and proceeded to drive 22 hours straight and did not stop until I hit the woodys parking lot. It was closed when I arrived so I decided to take a short 4 hour nap in the parking lot.When the establishment opened, I was first inside, and was greeted by the single greatest waitress I have ever encountered, her name was Orlyn. She was enchanting, helpful, and hands down the best person I have ever met. My experience was top notch, not just due to the food, but Orlyn and her serving magic. She was quick, enthusiastic, and an all around delight.Orlyn needs to be promoted to boss, handed the keys to the restaurant, and have the deed signed over to her immediately. I thanked God for her that day, and I even asked her to come back to New York with me to be my personal waitress. “I am trying to figure out how I haven’t heard about this bbq place sooner. Our first time experience we got take out and absolutely everything was perfect. I did not even have to ask for plastic ware and everything I needed was there so my family and I could enjoy our meal. The flavor of the food was incredible. I have to say I’m extremely impressed. “My husband and I just tried this place and it was really good! We had the soul bowls with the smothered hamburger. I had the mac & cheese on mine and my husband had the baked beans and the collard greens. We loved everything we had. My favorite is the mac & cheese, I could just eat that by itself and be satisfied! The people were very kind and attentive of our needs. We will definitely be back!“
