“Let me start out by saying that I have eaten at almost every bbq establishment on the eastern seaboard, and woodys BBQ is the singularity in the matrix.I was sitting at my desk in my soul sucking 9-5 position as a hedge fund manager in NYC, clearing north of $300k annually, I was ignoring my secretary talking and was mindlessly scrolling tiktok when suddenly a food review page popped up, and there it was Woody’s BBQ in lake Wales, Florida. I told my boss I was going to lunch and proceeded to drive 22 hours straight and did not stop until I hit the woodys parking lot. It was closed when I arrived so I decided to take a short 4 hour nap in the parking lot.When the establishment opened, I was first inside, and was greeted by the single greatest waitress I have ever encountered, her name was Orlyn. She was enchanting, helpful, and hands down the best person I have ever met. My experience was top notch, not just due to the food, but Orlyn and her serving magic. She was quick, enthusiastic, and an all around delight.Orlyn needs to be promoted to boss, handed the keys to the restaurant, and have the deed signed over to her immediately. I thanked God for her that day, and I even asked her to come back to New York with me to be my personal waitress. “Love it. The tuna tacos are amazing. I just wish they were open longer. I showed up today a little early (9:50, I was thinking for some reason they opened at 10). They don't open until 11:00, but they went ahead and made me some tacos anyway. That's the kind of service you don't see anymore. Most places, they would tell you to come back in an hour, and you'd be lucky if they didn't give you an attitude while they did. It's nice to know there are still places where they take pride in their craft and go the extra mile to make the customer feel valued.“

“I am trying to figure out how I haven’t heard about this bbq place sooner. Our first time experience we got take out and absolutely everything was perfect. I did not even have to ask for plastic ware and everything I needed was there so my family and I could enjoy our meal. The flavor of the food was incredible. I have to say I’m extremely impressed. I can’t wait to take my friends and family here to eat. It was worth every penny!“

“I want to start off by saying that the experience I had was amazing with this restaurant. My food was walked out to my car and the chef/owner was very pleasant. Ordering on the phone was hassle free and easy. It took about 20-30 minutes, which isn't bad for the type of place.However, I did have a problem with the food, but it is mostly personal preference.I've had other Indian food across the country, and they all claim to be "authentic" but I don't know how realistic that is here in the states. That being said, all of the places i've been to have different consistencies, flavor, etc. to their food. No two places are the same. With that in mind, I found that the butter chicken I ordered was just too watery for me. I prefer a thicker and more flavorful sauce (I also didn't say my spice level, so that's my fault. However, the sauce was a little flavorful/spicy). The rice was great. The garlic naan was great. And I even got these little chips (i'm sorry I don't know what they're called) and they were a pleasant surprise to the meal.My overall ranking is a 4 because I don't think the restaurant is bad, and is only 1 of 2 in the local area. But in my personal opinion the food wasn't how I prefer it, which isn't a bad thing. It's just a personal preference. I will be ordering from this restaurant again, and perhaps I'll ask if they can make the sauce thicker and also give my spice level. Nonetheless, I had an enjoyable lunch and happy that I was able to support a small business.“
