“We had tickets at van Wezel for 8:00 show. Bijou Cafe felt like a calm, beautiful oasis for us. We have not been here in a long time. Our server, Cathy, was excellent. The music was quiet and so nice. Duck and salmon were our entrees. Both very good. It's a wonderful place and we will return. Valet parking appreciated.“

“What a nice hidden gem for Bradenton! Since moving out to rural southern Hillsborough County, we have longed for a higher-end restaurant experience. Our daughter turned us on to MJ's and, with high hopes, we set off to find this rather non-descript exterior tucked next to a convenience store just off SR64. Don’t let the exterior fool you. Inside, the food, service and ambiance exceeded our every expectation. Five of us sampled six different menu offerings and all of us were struck by the complex flavors a good kitchen can produce. A clearly well-experienced server, Mattie was knowledgeable about the entire menu, attentive to our needs -- but not to a fault -- and allowed us to proceed at our own pace. Can’t wait to return and try some more dishes!“

“Possibly our favorite Sarasota restaurant. Excellent food, good service, and a wine list that is not only serviceable but significantly under-priced. We go to Antoine’s 3 times a year or so, and every time we say that we should go more often. First visit was in 2015 or so.“

“Bonjour is a not so hidden gem in Siesta Key. The perfect way to start your morning. Crepes that are crispy, warm and soft paired with a fresh side and a latte. We stopped in twice during our stay on the key and enjoyed both visits. The patio is really relaxing in the shade and the inside is charming.Hope to visit again!“

“Amazing food, we had quiche Lorraine and a couple varieties of savory crepes, all were the best we've ever had BUT we waited far longer than the tables around us for our breakfast and our server was rude about it rather than apologetic, then took 20min just to bring the bill. The minute my husband called to make a reservation Luigi was absolutely welcoming, kind and very excited to host us. We felt appreciated and very excited to come to the restaurant after our conversation with Luigi. Luigi took his time to make sure we had everything we wanted to celebrate my birthday prior to our reservation. When we got to the restaurant yesterday, we had a beautiful table set up for our group of friends. We had the pleasure to meet Jessica (Luigi’s wife). Jessica was also very welcoming and kind and was very happy to host us. The servers, staff and the atmosphere in this place was absolutely excellent! The food was incredible, we all tried different items from the menu and every single one of them was great, but my favorite was the duck! It was amazing!!! If you are looking for a unique, exclusive and high quality place, this is the place for you, where not only food is amazing, but you are treated like family!!! “This bakery/Cafe is located at 5336 Clark Road in Sarasota, a little West of I-75 on the South side of the road. It is an Oasis in a world of bland baked products. Prices are understandably high though not as high as Expected. This is arefreshing getaway from Supermarket baked goods. Get there in the morning, because it is sparcely populated with pastries in the afternoon.“

“This small French restaurant was such a treat! We were in from out of town and my dad loves this restaurant. Not white table cloth but a cozy, more casual atmosphere. I have the escargot (excellent) and the filet mignon which was legitimately one of the best I ever had. My wife had the lamb chops which she loved and we shared the peach Melba desert which was a special, it was delirious! The service was by a lovely woman and very timely. If you are looking for a hidden gem while in the Sarasota area, I highly recommend!“

“I went with my sister and girlfriend and was immediately hit with the sight and sound of a live performer playing the accordion and piano. This was of course followed by the best Crab Ravioli appetizer and Scallop Truffel Rissoto I’ve ever experienced. This was one of the most authentic French Restaurants (where the staff was also fully French, as well) and it was all fairly priced! Well worth the visit!“

The bread is delicious and crisp, the viennoiseries are just perfect and the pastries are a real treat.The service is always warm and friendly. “I find Eggs-Traordinary to be one of the best if not the best restaurants in 34241. The food is spot on every time and the service is excellent, always friendly. There are a few tables to eat outside and the restaurant is always clean. The menu has a nice variety of breakfast and lunch. I like to eat there twice or three times a month and my favorite is the veggie quiche which is always done to perfection. The side of fruit is bananas, blackberries, strawberries and grapes, always fresh and never the old melon standby. I highly recommend you give it a try...you will not be disappointed.“
