Experience Maitland's Mexican food at these fantastic spots.
“We eat out all the time and just swung by here on a whim right off the plane from CT…little unassuming place in the middle of a plaza…best Mexican food we’ve ever had!!! Authentic, cheap, delicious, all the wait staff were so friendly especially our server Leo!! She’s the best!!“
“In the heart of town, Agave Azul stands as a beacon of culinary excellence, offering a tantalizing array of authentic Mexican dishes that ignite the taste buds and transport diners to the vibrant streets of Mexico. Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at Agave Azul, where I was treated not only to delectable cuisine but also to impeccable service, courtesy of the remarkable waitress, Manuela. From the moment I stepped into Agave Azul, the aroma of spices and sizzling meats enveloped me, promising an unforgettable dining experience. As I perused the menu, I was delighted by the diverse selection of dishes, ranging from traditional favorites like tacos and enchiladas to more adventurous offerings such as mole poblano and cochinita pibil. Each dish boasted vibrant flavors and fresh ingredients, showcasing the culinary prowess of the kitchen staff.Throughout the evening, Manuela's attentive service elevated my dining experience to new heights. Her warm smile and genuine enthusiasm were infectious, making me feel welcomed and valued as a guest. She guided me through the menu with expert recommendations, ensuring that each dish I selected would be a feast for the senses. Her knowledge of the ingredients and preparation techniques added an extra layer of appreciation to the meal, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the rich tapestry of Mexican cuisine. As the evening unfolded, each dish surpassed my expectations, tantalizing my taste buds with a symphony of flavors and textures. The carne asada was tender and succulent, infused with smoky undertones and served alongside perfectly charred peppers and onions. The guacamole was a revelation, creamy and zesty with just the right amount of kick from fresh jalapeños and cilantro. And who could forget the churros? Crispy on the outside, yet delightfully soft on the inside, they were the perfect sweet ending to an unforgettable meal.In conclusion, my dining experience at Agave Azul was nothing short of spectacular, thanks in large part to the culinary mastery of the kitchen and the exceptional service provided by Manuela. From the first bite to the last, I was transported on a culinary journey through the vibrant flavors of Mexico, leaving me eager to return for another taste of paradise. Agave Azul and Manuela have truly set the standard for Mexican cuisine and hospitality, and I cannot recommend them highly enough to anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience.“
“Felicidade was fabulous !!!! She was so quick with our food and kept checking in. She has an amazing personality and was so social. Would love to have her as a waitress again. Food was so good and the vibe was on point ! I left stuff & happy :)“
“This place was an amazing gem to find without even looking for it. Came for a Saturday afternoon brunch, got seated promptly, service was great, drinks were great, but the food was out of this world. We had the excellent elote, tamal, and brunch fundido, but the pan de uchepos was a particular star. Even the chips and salsa were spicy, smoky, sweet, and elevated. I will make a point to come here any time I visit Orlando.Vegetarian options: Several brunch options were vegetarian, and several others had clearly labeled options to make them vegetarian (e.g. mushrooms instead of chorizo in brunch tortillas)Wheelchair accessibility: The spacious patio seating has direct at-grade access to the sidewalk. We ate outside, so I can't comment on the interior.“
“Came in today for quick drinks and light snacks with our pup. We of course sat outside on the patio. We had a great time! Drinks were delicious and food was great. Our server Laura was super friendly and hospitable. She made sure to keep checking on us and ensure we were having a great time. She made sure we knew what we were ordering and then Enjoyed our choices. The host was also super friendly and welcoming when we first arrived. I must also mention there was an older gentleman seated next to us who was hard of hearing. He was having an extremely hard time navigating the menu and picking out his dish of choice. The host went out of her way to thoroughly explain several menu items and offer a few suggestions to meet his needs. Her patience with him and thoughtfulness to go out of her way was very kind and heartwarming. Their staff is truly top notch and deserves to be recognized by management!! Everyone was working hard, friendly with customers, and representing the brand well.“
“I’ve been to Garibaldi’s outside bar (and inside seating) many times. Always a great experience. I’m here again right now. Zuli is awesome!!! She is so personable and makes the greatest and yummiest drinks ever!!! Come and give it a try yourself. Get the fantastic margaritas 28oz and enjoy. And the food is fantastic. I especially love the a la carte fish tacos. Love this place?“
“I went today for dinner; and the food was delicious. Our server Daniela was fantastic she made our night wonderful, made some good recommendations, and she has a very attentive. Will be coming back and for sure we’re going to ask for her. Service 10/10“
“the bartender working was so nice and had such good energy. the drinks she made were amazing. we sat at the bar and the whole night was so funDietary restrictions: they offer corn tortillas with everything for those who are gluten freeParking: lots of parking availableKid-friendliness: super kid friendly“
“We stopped by after flying from Boston, se we were pretty hungry. We sat at the bar. The service was very slow and the got one food order wrong. The food was DELICIOUS. The drinks were AMAZING! We had the birria tacos, the carne asada (we ordered carne asada tacos, but we were not disappointed with the carne asada because it was very good) and empanadas.Even the sides (Spanish rice and beans) were delicious. The chips were prob the best chips I’ve ever had, and the salsa was fresh and tasty.“
“Josue and Gabriela were the best waiters in all of Orlando. They were super attentive, detailed, and the recommendations were spectacular. We ate tacos (chicken, carnitas, and steak) and we ate queso fondido, everyone who comes here has to eat queso fondido. The music, AMAZING, the food AMAZING, the waiters, SUPER AMAZING In general everything was SPECTACULAR ?“
“Craving tacos bad and decided to try out Anejo. I had the Steak Rajas Tacos and they were quite good. Will have to return to test the other ones out. Make sure to ask for salsa for the tacos if doing carry-out, in case they forget (they did for us). The tacos included rice and beans, along with chips and salsa.“
“Best Mexican food in central Florida. Tamales are fantastic and the toppings are excellent. I always get extra pickled onions and salsa. When I pick up company from the airport this is our first stop. I enjoy both eating in and grabbing it to go. I love this place.“
“Outstanding! This is easily, our new favorite, Hispanic restaurant. The ambience, the food, and the service all made for a great and comfortable evening. The Chingon Burrito was delicious, full of flavor and the spice was right. Our waitress was genuinely welcoming and helpful. This place could easily fit a large crowd if you are looking to take out your family, office, or the whole neighborhood.“
“The absolute BEST fried mojara I have ever tried! It was cooked to perfection! I substituted the rice for fresh crisp coleslaw salad. The seasoning on fish was just right! First time late dining on a Saturday and pleasantly surprised with the live music. The dance floor was lively at 9:30 pm.“
“Honestly, I’ve been here probably ten times at this point as I live close, and it’s just okay. The tacos are decent, but there are better tacos on Mills if I’m honest. My biggest frustration isn’t even the food; it’s the people running the orders. I’ve NEVER been in and out for to-go orders in less than 30 minutes. And I go during nonbusy times.I’ve had my order forgotten, not called out, etc. The worst part is they don’t seem to care. I was the ONLY person waiting for an order, and they didn’t even check in with me when I saw other people who ordered after me get their orders.Again, I’ve been here many times and continue to give them a shot, but I think I’m officially done. Disappointing.“
“Driving by I always said I wanted to try this restaurant one day. So one day I ran across it on DoorDash and looking at the pictures I told myself I definitely have to try it so the past 2 days I’ve been trying to get here… so today i had the chance of trying 2 Shrimp Quesa Tacos & 2 Quesabirria tacos and when I say a 10/10 it was AMAZING. FRESH HOT AND GOOD… The customer service was AMAZING as well… This is definitely one of my FAVORITE RESTAURANTS“
“Really great experience eating at Las Patronas on a Tuesday evening! Danielle was our server and expertly guided us through the specialties. The chips and salsa are homemade and had a unique delicate flavor. We had the homemade guacamole which was fresh and better than any we’ve had at the chain restaurants. The Las Patronas specialty was like fajitas with melted cheese and a mix of meats - again unique and superb! My wife had a margarita that was homemade and without the chemical taste of a mix that she said was one of the best she’s ever had, thanks Danielle! It is located in the corner of a strip mall and is hard to see at night, but I’m really glad we kept looking (thanks Google maps). We will definitely return and bring the rest of our family.“
“As I was on my way to the Fiesta Mexico Food truck to grab some street tacos, I noticed yellow lawn signs advertising Street Tacos, which led me to Queso Loco. This restaurant had great reviews and offered a unique experience where I could choose a variety of options a la carte. I decided to try the Al Pastor, Steak, and Birria tacos and ordered a Michelada to drink. Although the presentation of all the tacos with fresh garnishes was appetizing, I found the texture and flavor of the Al Pastor and Steak to be a little underwhelming. The Al Pastor meat was dry and lacked juiciness, and the Steak was slightly over-seasoned with salt. However, the Birria taco was the best of the three, with a good amount of juicy pork. The Michelada was the highlight of the meal, with a generous amount of tamarind candy on the rim. Although I could have done without the cucumber chunks, it was still a good addition. The $9 price for the Michelada was a great deal for a non-happy hour price. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Queso Loco, but I do feel that the texture and flavor of the Al Pastor and Steak could use some improvement. The Birria taco and Michelada were excellent, and I would recommend trying them to see if you might like other items on their menu.“
“A very nice place with a varied, fresh and healthy menu. Healthy food at a good price. I was surprised to find out that it is Venezuelan food! The people who helped me really have good energy and the smell ofFood upon entry!!! Fabulous ❤️Vegetarian options: There are grains“
“Alejandra was an excellent server and the food at Pepe’s Cantina was great. The ambiance was outstanding because our party of six got an awesome table by the sidewalk on a beautiful night and Pepe’s outdoor atmosphere was first-rate. Would definitely go again. Thanks again, Alejandra!“
“Me and my girlfriend came on a Wednesday just wanting to see what good spots where around to eat at that weren’t mainstream with that being said we found this gem and were so pleased with the food and service I mean hands down the best Mexican restaurant around 10 out of 10Also Valentina our server was so attentive she really took care of us I didn’t have to ask for anything honestly because she always came to check on us and the margaritas she made were delicious and fresh tasting which made me happy we will be coming back very soon might I say it was hard not to come back the next day everything was so good lol“
“Friendly staff, quick service and great food. What more can you ask for? I got the Queso Crunch tacos and as I was eating them I could see the jealousy in my husband's eyes. I knew I had a winner. haha What I appreciate is the cute kids meals they offer. My kids were so happy about the toys (Pez dispensers) and the boxes were great for any leftovers. We will definitely be returning :)“
“I had a great time at fiesta Cancun for a friends birthday dinner. I ordered the Cancun dip and it was delicious!! I would go back just for the dip. The drinks were tasty and strong. The service was on point regardless of our party of 25 and the ambience was nice it felt like I was in Cancun. I I'll be returning!“
“I do not recommend this place Food was okay, good but not great. Service left a lot to be desired. It was a Monday night, not busy. My husband’s food came out before mine. When my food came out, we we’re finally able to get someone’s attention to ask for utensils. By this time, my husband’s food was cold. I started mine so I could eat while the food was hot. I was almost finished by the time his came back. Despite our server saying she would come by and check on us (which she didn’t) we were never offered any condiments. She never came buy to ask if we wanted refills on our drinks. If this if how you are when you’re not busy, I look forward to see what next occupies the space!“
“Each bite of their birria tacos is a symphony of textures and tastes – tender, succulent meat enveloped in a crispy tortilla, topped with melted cheese and served with a side of savory consomé for dipping. The balance of savory and spicy flavors is simply unparalleled. But the experience doesn't stop there. The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, with vibrant décor that echoes the vibrant flavors of their dishes. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring every visit feels like a culinary adventure.Whether you're a seasoned birria aficionado or a newcomer to this mouthwatering delight, this taco haven is guaranteed to leave you craving more. Don't miss the opportunity to savor some of the finest birria tacos in town – it's a taste sensation you won't soon forget“
“After looking for 10 years, we finally found an Authentic Mexican Restaurant. I had the octopus & shrimp ceviche, it was fresh, tasty & pure perfection. My husband had the combo with a taco & tamales, the tamales reminded me of California. My brother had a huge carnitas burrito, he ate every morsel. Most would’ve eaten half. Next the house Margaritas I had 2! & to top it off we had the churros to end the meal. In short, go there, you will not be disappointed.“
“It is one of thee best and unique restaurants in town. I love how much the ingredients are fresh with uniqueness compared to other places. I truly enjoyed both times I went there. My favorite item is definitely the nachos. It's also big enough for 2 people. I highly recommend trying at least once.“
“The birria is killer. The pastor burrito is killer. Great variety of margaritas. Suspiciously fast service. If someone asked me to recommend a Mexican restaurant that reminds them of grandma’s cooking, this would be it. Highly recommend 10/10.“
“Wow Sabrosito Criollo never disappoints. The times I’ve come to eat the food, service and drinks have always been top notch. It literally feels like you’re having your Abuela’s cooking. The owners are also always so pleasant and would have a conversation with you like your family. Amazing ladies!!“
“I went there for lunch with my daughter and it was a great vibe and quick service. I had the crispy fish and pork belly tacos and they were so good, I got 2 more to go for my wife! The only downside was that I read they had kids eat free on Wednesdays but looks like that’s over.“
“Guacamoli is a hidden gem that I wholeheartedly recommend. If you're a fan of Mexican cuisine with vegan options this place is an absolute must-visit. The combination of great food, exceptional service, and unbeatable prices sets Guacamoli apart from the rest. Whether you're looking for a casual lunch, a dinner with friends, or a takeout option, Guacamoli will exceed your expectations. I can't wait to return and explore more of their mouthwatering menu.“
“Perfect queso that doesn't solidify, hot sauces that provide the most delicious burn, and a variety of tacos with fun topping combinations. This establishment sits independently in a Publix shopping plaza with plenty of parking. On the date of my visit, it was very loud inside and out, and there was an annoyingly long wait for food. When asked, the staff explained the kitchen was backed up - not sure how often this happens as today was my first and only visit. This was a drive for us so not sure if I will return.“
“WOW! If you are looking for some AUTHENTIC Cuban food - you HAVE to stop here. Saturday nights they have happy hour with amazing drinks and a fun atmosphere and music. Or also amazing for a quiet afternoon lunch!!! Options for vegetarian too!!Parking: In a shopping plaza so options“
“It was good. The burrito I had was delicious, can't remember which one... chicken, and smothered with a cheese sauce on top. Friends got other things and seemed to enjoy- same burrito but with shrimp... taco salad... fajitas.. and I think Verde enchiladas.. salsa was bland, no spice at all... but added their green hot salsa to the regular red salsa.. made all the difference! I'd go back though!“
“Our second time visiting this restaurant along with some friends was just as enjoyable as our first. The only issue we encountered was the hostess attempting to seat us at a low table with couch type seating near the entrance. This would be fine for drinks and appetizers but clearly not suitable for eating dinner. She seemed a bit annoyed at our request for a traditional table. Once we were seated at our table it was a wonderful experience! Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive and each of our meals was delicious! Even the shared dessert of Churro bites!! The restaurant was PACKED but our food arrived quickly and the live piano entertainment was ‘just right' for the atmosphere! We'll be back soon!!“
“I was in the area and I’m not from Orlando and I was looking for a good Mexican spot since I was craving it earlier today and this particular location popped up on Google and so I decided to give it a try since I wasn’t too far away. Absolutely did not disappoint; their Birria tacos that they made along with the rice and beans was delicious! Customer Service was greaf as well. Whenever I move to seminole county in September, I will more than likely be coming here on the regular. Highly recommend!“
“I had of course heard of Tako Cheena's legend for years and years. I try my best to try all of the greatest restaurants around town, but Orlando just has so many good places! Anyway, my sights finally set on Cheena, and late one night, we stopped by and dug in.We ordered six tacos, a good assortment of what they offer, an empanada, and an arepa. Quite honestly, it was so long ago, I couldn't possibly remember what tacos I ordered or what empanada I ordered. But what I do remember is that it was all excellent. The tacos were magnificently built. First of all, they were flour tortillas. Those are my favorite for tacos. I know many of you are spitting out your beverage and calling me a phony, but hey, it is what it is. I love a good, soft, flour tortilla taco. These flour tortillas are stuffed to the brim with stuff. Tons of meat, juicy and flavorful. Tons of Vibrant, fresh vegetables that add so much to the taco. And then perfect garnishes. Peanuts for crunch, a sprinkle of cheese for unctuousness, cilantro for that pop. Just well-designed tacos. And then I say they're stuff, they are stuffed. There is no plausible way to eat these things without some droppage. I recommend waiting until the end and then collecting all of excess into one, combined mega-bite. So good. The empanada and the arepa were high quality, too. Also can't remember exactly what they had in them, but I remember that they were good. So anyway, Tako Cheena was a real winner. I am ashamed that it took me so long to get here, but I know I will be back.“
“The food was absolutely incredible! They are very affordable and extremely generous on portions! They have both indoor and outdoor dining options. Both are really nice, however, the outdoor dining option is an entire esthetic vibe. Surrounded by palm trees, waterfall, overhead lights hanging, etc.Vegetarian options: They have many vegetarian options, and alternatives. Also, majority of their dishes would still be amazing when removing the meat (asking them to hold the meat when making your order).Dietary restrictions: They have Keto / Low Carb options“
“I mean it's Mexican type food. I'm not good at being critique on Mexican food, I rarely eat this.It was tasty, and they seem to be quite busy, that's a good sign. The interior IMO has pretty colors, including the chairs and tables. I have not seen so much art in a restaurant. It's nice just to admire that. From what I gather they have all types of Mexican origin snacks like coconut sweet toffee and peanut brittle. They also have a butcher store and a small grocery store inside the restaurant.Several income streams for the owners.“
“I found this place when it was a hole in the wall and they've now expanded their restaurant. Just goes to show how good their food is! If you love AUTHENTIC Mexican food, this is your new spot. Don't go next door to Habaneros, that's that fake Mexican. You want the real deal. And it's a lot of food for a good price! The drinks are delicious and the service is great. They also have a meat market, bakery and convenience store next door. It's a hidden gem!“
“We were in town to see Crypta and decided to stop at Boston's Fish House but there was a line. We didn't feel like waiting and thankfully we didn't because we ended up walking just down the street to something so much better at el Pueblo! Fortunately there was one booth left for us in this little cozy place. I don't know what it was, but this was one of the best Mexican restaurants I have eaten in. I had the chicken flautas with rice and beans. The chicken was so damn flavorful!! It was exceptionally flavorful! The rice had a couple of slices of avocado on it and I have no idea what was different but the refried beans tasted heavenly. Refried beans are refried beans, right? I always thought so until I tasted these. The cheese on top flautas was so tasty with the onion....just the little touches proved the meal was made with pride. The salsa that came with our chip was really good too. I don't know if it even could be called salsa but it was great. Since everyone, staff and customers, was speaking Spanish I felt compelled to try but got nervous and ended up sounding like a complete goober. Our server was nice enough not to laugh at me. We will definitely be stopping here again.“
“Soy Mexicano and honestly this place is 10 times much better than any other Mexican restaurant I have been to in the past 10 years, despite the size of the restaurant I rather buy from here than any other place is I genuinely want to enjoy delicious Mexican food. It is a solid place to eat at.“
“The tacos we're amazing, hand made tortillas , good prices , the only bad thing is after I finished with my order I wanted to eat more taco, I asked for it and the cashier told me I can't sell you one taco, you have to spend at least 5 dollars, I mean I kind of understand but I want just one taco , I told her hey I ate already from here I just want one more taco ?, she said her boss told her no, I think they should chance that I mean the food was amazing but I didn't like that part.“
“Iris was our server and she was great, very friendly and attentive. The guacamole was excellent, so was the salsa and the fried avocados. Yummy! The fish tacos were good, not great but good. The enchilada was good, not great. But the mushroom and truffle quesadilla was amazing! We plan to visit again, just plan to order differently. They have several healthy options and I hope to try them all!Dietary restrictions: Several healthy options marked in the menu. Excellent!Parking: It’s Winter Park so parking is challenging. Plan to walk a bit. Which is fun because of all the shops and galleries.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. There indoor and outdoor eating options.“
“Taqueria Mi Bendicion is a small taqueria in a small gas station strop mall. It is easy to miss, so if you are looking for it, it is next to the Hungry Howie's. Walking in, I was surprised how small it was. They had four booths crammed in and a two top table shoved in a corner. The service was good and we opted for our meal to-go since the place was so small it was a bit off-putting. I went with three tacos. I chose an asada taco, a chorizo taco, and a carnitas taco. Since it was taco Tuesday, the tacos were just under two dollars each ($1.99 to be exact). Normally, they were I believe $2.89, so not a bad deal. In about ten minutes, our food was brought to us. Even for two dollars (okay, $1.99), the tacos were a bit skimpy on meat, but they were pretty good. Still, they were a decent taco. Go check it out for yourself, especially if it is a Tuesday.“
“The food was more than wonderful. The service was great and the staff was so nice and friendly and always asked if we needed something and if we did it was so speedy. The ambiance was great. It gave graffiti vibes. Highly recommend!!!!!!!!!“
“Grocery store with meats and veggies and hard to find candies!!! Then there's the whole menu of authentic Mexican food which caught me completely by surprise! It is definitely worth the visit!! Can't say enough about the flavors. Service was quick and food was hot and delicious. Small unfussy place but very delicious!“
“Acabamos de ir al que queda en West Colonial, pedimos el especial de tacos de carnitas y birria. seafood chimichangas y flautas de pollo. excelente y porciones bastantes para llevar. buen servicio y amigables. tienen que probar la Horchata y Agua de Jamaica.... de regresar, regresamos....“
“My daughter and I decided to try this place while we were prom dress shopping. We ordered chicken fajitas and a combo platter. There was a lot of chicken fajita to eat but it had no flavor. The combo platter came with a taco, a burrito, and quesadilla. My daughter couldn't even get through half of the platter. The ground beef tasted like it came out of a can. It was super salty. All the staff was amazing and nice but I don't think we'll be back. They had really nice decor too.“
“What's not to like. Fresh authentic Mexican Food. When you have a dream about a place you have to check it out. Love it. Just about every Tuesday and sometimes Wednesday, and Thursdays. If you're not careful it can be addicting. In a good way. I encourage you to get some tacos and sit down. ??❤“
