“Have you ever been to a restaurant where there’s a cohesive staff where there’s four team members that go above and beyond that actually take care of you and make sure that your food is good and that service is good? Let me tell you this restaurant there are four staff members back behind the bar who went above and beyond made sure we were taken care of made sure that our food was good. Made sure our drink stayed full and all around. They were actually great to be around. Dairis, Joe, Kaiya, Loraine were the four staff members were behind the bar and I would specifically come back for each and every single one of them. They were that good!!! So do yourself a favor go in just to see any of those four or all four together to see how well they work together because honestly again I would just go back for them alone. And yes, my tomahawk steak was good along with the asparagus and the potatoes. And the four of them made sure of that!!!“

“I had a great time celebrating my moms retirement and her birthday! We saved something special to try for the end of our trip. We had pasta, a giant chicken Parm with a ricotta meatball as an appetizer and enjoyed a butter cake for dessert. Everyone worked as a team from our server, our red coat door dining host and the manager that made the cheese wheel magic!!! I loved the special way meals are made here. I don’t know if the truffle oil is for me I like a really creamy Alfredo, but the meat ball and chicken were so tasty. “Papa Llama, 2840 Curry Ford Road, Orlando- 4-Stars Michelin Recommended- Bib Gourmand! Peruvian immigrants, Kevin and Maria Ruiz, say they founded Papa Llama in 2016 as an experimental pop up and opened the doors of this location in August 2020. In 2022, they earned the Michelin Guide's coveted "Bib Gourmand" award for establishments that serve good food at reasonable prices so naturally, I got excited. Paulina, my server, was well prepared and knowledgeable, making for an auspicious beginning in a gorgeous environment featuring good prices for dishes that could be made to satisfy both carnivores and herbivores alike. I ordered the entire family style menu which was, according to Papa Llama, "designed to be tasted together, shared, and fought over." So much food for just over a hundred dollars. The prices may have been cheap but the taste and quality of (most) victuals valieron un Perú! A hearty Big Boy Thank You (Sulpayki!) to Kevin and Maria and the culinary dactylograms of their ancestors, on this amazing cuisine (Somaq Mihuna!). The first item on the menu was Olives--whole green Castelvetrano olives marinated in house with aji panca--which were so delectable I could eat them all day. Next, the Red + Gold Beets, a minty beet salad with honey ají amarillo vinaigrette, queso fresco, and candied pistachio, which started out smooth and creamy and ended with a pleasantly piquant bite. Papas a la Huancaína followed, a fingerling potato dish with spicy aji amarillo cream, wakatay (black mint) salsa verde, and beef chicharron, topped with a fried egg. The potatoes themselves were not the star, but the combination of flavors in the sauce were amazing, unctuous but smooth. Papa Llama carries a long list of natural wines, more wines than food items, actually. That evening, I chose the Yuzu Sake, and may I say, "Holy smokes!" How refreshing after consuming so many peppers. The rest of the dishes I would give 4.5 to 5-Stars, EXCEPT for the side of frozen Sysco French fries which almost ruined an otherwise stellar meal. There are over 300 kinds of potatoes in Peru. Over 300! Perhaps in the United States we don't have the same abundance as found in El Valle Sagrado (the Sacred Valley) but, por favor, do not stoop to this! The Big Boy says, "Eat here. All the authentic Peruvian flavors at Papa Llama are 5-Star, but skip the fries, which are a corporate conglomerate frozen food disappointment."“

“I’ve been wanting to come here for so long and we finally got in! You’re best off making a reservation or be prepared to wait 1+ hr for a table. Reservations are made by texting them, which is a little strange, but maybe it’s just part of their charm. This place has such a great vibe, was packed but not too loud, and the service was great! We both had 4 oz filets, I had the sweet potato fries and he had a side of spaghetti with meat sauce. Both entrees came with a house salad and one side. The house vinaigrette is SO yum and their homemade croutons are perfect (just wish there were more)! The steaks were cooked and seasoned to absolute perfection! The sweet potato fries were ok, they were hot but they are crinkle cut and not all of them were crispy. They come plain so if you’re looking for something to dip, I guess you have to ask. The side of spaghetti with meat sauce was underwhelming but had good flavor. I really enjoyed this first experience here and am excited to come back.“

“We dined here for our anniversary dinner and were pleasantly impressed with the attentiveness of the staff. It wasn’t formal as they are at Del Frisco’s but they let you know they were there. Even the managing partner, Philip and the manager, Jeff introduced themselves. We had the price fixe Land and Sea and opted for a tomahawk ribeye which was done as I prefer with little seasoning and salt. The mushroom bisque soup was flavorful. Our waitress, Dana was attentive and professional. I would definitely come back because Del Frisco’s will probably cost us twice as much.“

“We went last night off of a recommendation from a friend. It was a pleasant surprise to find this restaurant and we have added it to our favorites list. The staff was excellent, starting with the complimentary valet. The upscale atmosphere is beautiful with interesting art and light installations. We had a party of five. We started with a variety of appetizers and every one of them was excellent: Smoked Wagyu Pastrami, Spicy Wild Caught Shrimp, Josper Grilled Octopus, Pan Seared Foie Gras Jewels. The foie gras was so good that I ordered a second plate to eat with dinner. For dinner we ordered the Pappardelle, two Chateau Filets, Lamb Chops, grilled broccolini and truffle mashed potatoes. We loved the table side presentation of the pappardelle being mixed on the giant Parmesan wheel and the chateau filets being seared to perfection as they were being plated. We had a bottle of wine with dinner and had one person order an Americana and one Turkish coffee, in addition to tea and soft drinks. The service was excellent and the food was some of the best we've ever had. Our bill (with 18% gratuity built in + additional 7% because it was so good), came to $929. Impressive, upscale dining with excellent food and service.“

We are a little concerned about theme park food, but we are pleasantly surprised. “Had dinner here with my husband while the kids enjoyed Universal Orlando. This is a more high end restaurant than others on Citywalk but you can still enter in T-shirts and shorts. There are cloth napkins but not really high end service - no fresh silverware between appetizer and entree for example. Our server didn't introduce himself and wasn't particularly attentive. He did tell us that the place was known for their steaks and that we should expect it to take 30 minutes for our entree. He recommended the bourbon cheese fondue appetizer which we did order. It included roasted carrots of various colors, red and white baby potatoes, broccolini, crusty bread and peppers. All were flavorful and the cheese was very good although I didn't find any flavor of bourbon. We weren't in the mood for steak, but opted for the hot honey salmon and beef short rib pappardelle. The salmon was tender with good flavor. The heirloom carrots and blistered cherry tomatoes were a nice complement. The cauliflower puree was a bit bland. The pappardelle had a comforting beef gravy flavor and was loaded with wild mushrooms which were quite delicious. The flat pasta was good, but had some areas that were boiled together and hence dense and pasty. Overall a very tasty meal, in a nice atmosphere, with average service.“

“I did discover this place in Virginia, so I was ecstatic when visiting Orlando and seeing that there was a location here. The food is great. However, I ordered my steak medium well and it was well done. My cremebrule cheesecake was in 2 pieces and I'm not sure why they would present it as such, instead of giving a whole slice, like the other locations. I was a little disappointed in presentation for both? But I drove 25 minutes. So going back is not an option.But what parts I did eat were good.“
