Omg the southern food here is delicious! Been awhile since I had southern food this good!
We were seated at a table and were sitting for almost 15 minutes, no server ever came to our table , we eventually Left and spent our money elsewhere. Highly disappointed in this place!!!

Based on the reviews, The Licking is a soul food restaurant with great vibes, soulful music, and a family-friendly atmosphere. The food is delicious, fresh, and seasoned right, with items like fish tacos with amazing salmon, shrimp dinner with delicious cajun seasoning, and fried snapper and shrimp being fabulous. However, some recent visits found the food extremely bland and lacking flavor. Portions are small and prices are a bit high, with some items overpriced but others priced just right. The sides like fries and rice are just okay. A 15% automatic gratuity is added to checks, which is worth it for good service but should be mentioned up front. You can only order a limited number of drinks at a time. The lemon drop is good for sweet drink lovers. Overall, the food is really good and the restaurant is a gem.
