This truly is the BEST chocolate you will ever have. I have to eat gluten free and have struggled to find good desserts. Emmanuel's chocolate cake is so good that we had it for our wedding cake! And we've gotten an anniversary cake every year since.

We stopped here for a colada. It was BUSY, so we couldn't enjoy the inside very much. The ordering and coffee making process was SLOW....ordered at the outside counter, and then picked up inside. Of course, the colada is fresh made, but still a 15-20 minute wait a bit excessive. The colada/coffee was good, though.

For the second time in two visits separated by three years, I tried the Pollo Asado Plato, a coconut-marinated grilled chicken breast, with rice, beans, and maduros. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed again. While the simple sides had no problems (no pizazz either, to be honest), the chicken breast itself was tougher than leather. It was no match for the plastic cutlery supplied by the restaurant for our picnic. There must have been a directive, I concluded, that the Bodega chefs nuke the chicken flesh until temperatures reached 250 degrees Fahrenheit – when all life ceases to exist for any microbe or organism with the exception of thermophile microorganisms containing a distinct membrane-bound nucleus, happily residing in the hot springs, geysers, mud pots, and fumaroles of Yellowstone National Park. Sadly, I don’t think my Pollo would have interested them either. Sure, the dish only set me back by $11, but that’s $11 I could have used to buy something to eat rather than attach to the sole of my hiking boots for better traction. Four paws down on the Cherry Wonderdog rating scale. Woof Woof.

Based on reviews, we stopped. Simply a walk up counter service with very few tables outside. The heavier blonde order taker was NOT wanting to be there. Very slow and unaware. I had asked what certain items were and she looked at me like I was stupid, then after ordering, I’d asked for any kind of sauce for the pork and she said it was in the back kitchen, like it was a hassle for her to get it. So I never got it. Food was OK, but I don’t get the hype.

Great flavors. My boyfriend loves the "burger" (it's more of a chorizo burger I think). The plates are the way to go so you get a little of everything though. The plantains are amazing. They have a few tables outside and lots of seating inside. I'd probably just get it to go and eat at one of the breweries that allows byo food or at the pier/vinoy park.

I called for the first time was rushed off the phone, ordered a Cuban sandwich it was greasy a** heck size nice meat a good amount but taste cheap, ask for no pickles on food got pickle. Never ordered a drink because I was rushed. service was quick but quick service to get bad food is not worth it. I buy out for good food and great experience

We ordered (2) Cuban Sandwiches and a Lechon plate and ate at a small table outside. Business was busy with stop and go traffic. We parked right on Central Ave. The Sandwiches were great. I found the lechon was a little too shredded, almost to a tuna fish consistency, which took away from from its flavor . The plate had an ample serving of rice and black beans.

My boyfriend and I went downtown St. Pete to go to Hawkers but they were unexpectedly closed so we decided to give Bodega a try. The inside decor is really bright and airy and the shape of the bar will catch your eye almost immediately. We knew we were going to see Cuban options on the menu but we weren't expecting the juice and smoothie bar so we definitely took advantage of that! The vibe kind of feels like you are in Miami -- very cool and well thought out. The logo on the outside of the building in a bright yellow color and the inside is mostly white and teal -- I was hoping the yellow color would have been brought inside as well but the white subway tile behind the bar and the white bar top really help keep the space bright and welcoming. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching the beverages be made. We saw beverages to the left (closest to the service window that leads outside) and inquired about them -- refreshers. We had already ordered but made a mental note to try one next time -- the bartender said that mixing lime and hibiscus is a crowd favorite. FOOD: I tried the Pollo Plate and my boyfriend had the Pollo Sandwich. I really wanted to try the Cuban Sandwich but I am Gluten Free and didn't want to risk not feeling well the rest of the day. The highlight of the plate for me was the maduros -- the sweet and savory taste was delightful. I could have honestly just eaten an entire bowl of them for lunch -- yum! SMOOTHIES + JUICE: I had the Kaylie Sunshine Juice (pineapple, orange, carrot, lime, turmeric, ginger) and it was SO tasty! If I lived closer to downtown St.Pete, I would stop in weekly for this juice and a side of the maduros! My boyfriend had the Hummingbird Smoothie (mango, banana, passion fruit, dates, green apple, carrot, ginger) and he loved it! Service was also really good -- we were there at about 12:30pm on a Tuesday and there was a decent-sized crowd outside ordering to-go food and a good amount of tables inside (all spaced out per CDC guidelines) but the bartender was attentive and personable!
