México 1800 Traditional Kitchen & Tequila Bar, formerly known as Alebrije, is a local Mexican restaurant in the Sanford area. The restaurant is new and shows potential, but there is room for improvement to reach the level of other high-rated Mexican establishments.

During a recent lunchtime visit, the service was provided by about three waitstaff members, including one server for a group of around twenty people. Despite being slightly overwhelmed, the server did a decent job, but could have benefited from better familiarity with the menu.

The Shredded Chicken Chimichanga was a hit, served with fresh, homemade guacamole, salsa, and chips. However, the presentation of the dish could have been clearer, as the beans and rice were tucked inside instead of being visible.
