No intent in my review of accusing the restaurant of intentionally overcharging us. Certainly, the surprisingly incorrect billing for a glass of wine could have been unintentional. However, my stated impressions of the food accurately describe our experience.

Well...I have mixed feelings about this place...Yes it's cozy (sort of). Service was good. Ambiance was good. The food...oh, it's pretty good (although the eggplant parm was a bit burned) but let's set that aside as an oversight in the kitchen. It is an extremely small dining area with tables 18 inches apart...in fact so close that we made friends with our "next table" neighbors!!! My Cernia was pretty good although a bit pricey at $35 bucks for a fish filet with a few baby clams, mussels and shrimp on top and 10 to 12 pieces of pene-pasta. Wine was fine at $8 a glass (had 3 total) I guess I'm glad we tried it, a new place for us to visit for a special night out before the Van Wezel concert...but we won't be back. Too small and feel cramped all around (sat at a table in the middle of the room) and for an $89 dinner for two ($105 with tip), I expect the food to be on point, not for half of it to be bitter-burned; and if you burnt it...make another one, but don't serve it to a paying customer, especially one who is a foody and who usually writes reviews as he sees them...be it good or bad...kind of like I see this place, good and bad.

Sorry to post this. We made reservation on D'Corato website (you can't call the restaurant/no phone). Arrived and told private party was there. They denied we had made the reservation. I had to open the RESY email and show them, even then they seemed uncertain. Didn't take any responsibility or give explanation. Beware, they might not honor your reservation.

My wife and I have enjoyed eating at this very intimate family owned and authentic Italian restaurant for 15 years. never, never disappointed in the food, service or ambience. I've eaten at restaurants in just about every province in Italy, spend a great deal of time in Sicily and being a resident of Chicago (with a condo on LBK) I know authenticity in Italian cooking. D'Corato (formerly known as Bellagio) is the genuine article. I love the family _ mom and son cook, aunt waits the table and Papa makes sure everything runs smoothly. A real treasure, quiet, comfortable with a genuine family atmosphere.

a truly hidden gem. it's on 301 but i only found this restaurant returning amazon stuff at the ups store around the corner. this place has the best lasagna in the entire universe and beyond. very quaint, small restaurant, bring the family, bring Solazzo, bring Captain McCluskey and have a great dinner!

The food was amazing and delicious. The service was great except the sever spilt extremely hot food on me. The lighting was great and the restaurant had a great vibe they dimes the lights and had a nice candle on the table with a white table cloths.

A little Hidden Treasure from Italy in SarasotaWe were visiting Sarasota to celebrate my wife's Birthday and we had a craving for Italian. Not just your regular Spaghetti and Meatballs but something VERY unique and different. We had several conditions to look for Online.- Atmosphere- Service- and of course, Food Quality. After looking at many places, here it was, this little hidden Gem that matched ALL our conditions.Making our reservation (highly recommended) for 6 was easy. The entrance was very nicely decorated. In such a way that it seem like we were walking into a small local restaurant in the outskirts of the Italian Peninsula.Once inside, we realized it was small enough for an intimate dinner experience. The Service was above and beyond our expectations (BRAVO)Each one of us, tried different dishes and one couldn't be better than the other. Our server was fluent in at least 3 different languages and made our dinner experiences just AMAZING.There are NO words on how this place, its staff and owner made our weekend unforgettable.Grazie D'Corato Ristorante
